CASEing Lynn

I created this card for 3 different challenges on Splitcoaststampers:
Featured Stamper - this week it's Lynn (allee's) who has a fabulous gallery and is such a great inspiration with her many challenge cards!
CAS - Color Challenge: Ruby red, Kiwi Kiss, Bermuda Bay, Chocolate Chip
Technique Lover's Challenge - Let the inside of the card show.

I cased this rose card to honor Lynn and die cut the roses and some of the leaves using PTI's matching dies to the Rosy Posy stamp set.  Sentiment inside and out is from Verve's Doodled Occasions set.  Paper is Lost & Found Two pad by MME.  I cut below the chocolate chip border (cut using Verve's Flourished Trim die) to let the inside DP show through to the front.

Yikes!  It's almost 1 AM and I need to get to bed!  Good night all!

Viva la Verve

Good Friday morning everyone! It's a rainy but mild winter day here in VA - 44 degrees now to be exact. I stayed up late last night to create this card for the Viva la Verve challenge in the Verve forum on SCS and am making a quick post this morning. Moe has a great layout that can be kept really simple or it can be loaded up with embellishments.  No surprise here that I added roses, leaves and pearls to accent this great verse from Psalm 3:3 - one of Verve's Plain Jane stamps. I love the soft pinks and greens in this paper from the Gossamer 6x6 collection by Memory Box.  I used Verve's Rounded Scallop Frame die, Pennant Trim die and their Leafy Sprigs die.  Pleated ribbon is by SU in the Pear Pizzazz color.  As Bugs Bunny used to always say at the end of his show....Ehhh...that's all, folks! :-)

Deconstructed Sketch

This card is one that ran away from me and went a bit out of control with the busy patterns - lol! Jen Shults has another fun Deconstructed Sketch Challenge!  My papers are from Bazzill Basics "Avalon" pad with inks in Real Red and Old Olive.  Circle and sentiment is from PTI's Tag Its #12 stamp set and the flowers/leaves are PTI's "Rosy Posy" stamp set.  I also used the matching dies which eliminate a lot of fussy cutting!

Hopefully, the recipient will look at all these vivid colors and truly consider it a happy day! :-)

Elegance to Cherish

I found two challenges that I thought would mesh
beautifully for an elegant wedding card! The Friday Mashup challenge is"feeling the love" and Liliana has given us a great sketch with a challenge to mash it up with hearts.  On the Shabby Tea Room challenge blog, the theme is elegance with inspiration from this gorgeous photo and the direction to use the color scheme and a flower on our creation.

So...this is what I came up with...

I love this elegant paper from Kaisercraft's Chapter One 6x6 pad.  The rhinestone/lace border is in a sticker format from Prima Marketing - so easy to add to a card!  I had bits and pieces of SU's glitter CS leftover from winter snowflake projects and they were perfect to cut these little hearts using Verve's "From the Heart" die.  Ribbon is PTI's Fine Linen satin ribbon.  The sentiment is from PTI's Tag It #12 stamp set.

Thanks for stopping by...I always enjoy reading your comments!

Love Theme

It's release week at Flourishes which means a variety of challenges are offered for a chance to win some new stamps!  I created the card below for their Love Letters Challenge: use love as a theme...use letters of love...or use the love colors of pink and red.

I pulled out an oldie but goodie Flourishes set called "Coffee with Friends" and paper pieced the mug.  I used the fabulous sketch from SCS Sketch Challenge...tweaking it by adding the heart border on the right.

What else did I use?

Color Throwdown

It's once again time for a new Color Throwdown Challenge and this week it's the talented Lori's turn to be hostess!  Aren't those quilted mitten cookies just the cutest?!  I goofed a bit with my colors and used rose red instead of regal rose.  At least I got the rose part of it right - lol!  As we say every week, it doesn't have to be exact...it just needs to be close.

The BG paper is from SU's Tea Party DP pack with an Almost Amethyst overlay of die cut CS using PTI's Quatrefoil die.  I then used 2 different sized Die-Namics for the leafy flourish and topped it with MFT's mini rolled roses and Spellbinder's Spiral Blossom One die.  Sentiment is from Verve's "With Love" set and was stamped on a tag using Verve's scroll die.

Timeless Tuesday

I had this Flourishes cut file already cut and stamped...just waiting for the right challenge. Today's Timeless Tuesday Challenge on the Flourishes blog is hosted by Denise who has challenged us to use something new.  A visit to Michael's yesterday meant coming home with some new bling and this butterfly is part of my "new" stash.  The sentiment is also seeing ink for the first time.  I'm also entering this into Karen Giron's Sweet Sunday Sketch Challenge with a few little tweaks.

STAMPS: Garden Picks (Flourishes), Magnolias (Flourishes)
PAPER: Frond DP by Memory Box, White, X-Press It Blending Card
INK: Versafine Onyx Black
ACCESSORIES: Picot Edge Circle Nestie, Embroidery trim, Butterfly embellishment by Recollections.
