Pick 1 Challenge

Flourishes is getting revved up for a new release and they have a fun Pick 1 Challenge going on for a chance to win the whole release! We are to pick 1 of 3 sketches, 1 of 3 color schemes and 1 of 3 embellishments (buttons, lace or satin ribbon).  I picked the cream/yellow/green color scheme and buttons for my embellishments.  I love this sweet rosebud image from their last release!

I ran the fishtail flag through my Big Shot using the square lattice EF.  Love Flourishes Victorian oval template die that cuts and embosses the pierced design!

STAMPS: Roses are Red (Flourishes)
PAPER: Summer Days pad by Echo Park, Vintage Cream (PTI)
INK: Memento Tuxedo Black
COPICS: V20, V22, V25Y11, Y13, Y15, YG21, YG23, YG25.

Deconstructed Sketch

Good Saturday morning, friends! I'm looking forward to a weekend off work and am loving the sunshine and birds who are congregating in our little miniature maple tree...thanks to 3 different bird feeders we have placed in that tree! My husband has to fill them twice a week - I'm wondering if they don't have some pig blood in them. :-)  Anyhoo...back to cardmaking...This one is a square version of Jen's Deconstructed Sketch.  This sunflower by Flourishes is one of my fave flowers to color with Copics!  I popped the ladybug on a wee piece of foam and added Crystal Effects.

STAMPS: Sunflowers (image) and Botanical Bookplates (sentiment) - both by Flourishes.
PAPER: Family Ties pad by Pebbles, White, X-Press It Blending Card
INK: Memento Tuxedo Black
ACCESSORIES: Corner chomper, Square lattice EF by SU, Oval punches by SU, Fishtail Flags STAX Die-Namics by MFT
COPICS: Y02, Y06, Y08, Y17, G20, G21, G24, R24, R27, E55, E57.

Thanks for stopping by and commenting...am thinking of those who live in the northeast US that got walloped with a huge snow storm yesterday!  Hope everyone stays safe and keeps their power!

Tuesday Trigger

I loved this week's Moxie Fab Tuesday Trigger photo...a fabulous color combo with a heart theme - just doesn't get any better than this!  I thought this square lattice EF mimicked the cross stitch pattern on the pillow.  I kept trying to add more roses and it just wasn't working for me....so...decided simpler was better and stuck to one!  I combined stamps from SU's Hearts a Flutter set with the sentiment words from Verve's Stronger Love set.

I'm also entering this card into the Simon Says Stamp Challenge to "Have a Heart".

I used Korin's great sketch for the Wednesday Sketch Challenge on Splitcoaststampers.  The card base is PTI's Aqua Mist which blends nicely with SU's Pool Party ink used on the hearts and banner.  Clean and simple!

Color Throwdown & Deconstructed Sketch

Welcome aboard to another Color Throwdown Challenge! Tammy has an awesome color combo for us this week and since I'm still making Valentines to sell at work, I went with the love theme once again. I goofed and used white instead of vanilla, but since it's so close, I decided not to sweat the petty stuff (or to pet the sweaty stuff - lol)!

I'm using Jen Shultz' great layout for the Deconstructed Sketch Challenge.  Once again, I used MFT's Fishtail Flags STAX Die-Namics plus a Fancy Frames Tags Two die by Spellbinders.  The tiny tag is a PTI die and the sentiment is from PTI's Tiny Tags set - another of my fave "go to" sets when I want to tuck in a tiny tag somewhere.  The winged heart is a newly purchased set by Verve called "Wings of Love". The larger heart was die cut using Verve's "Wavy" Hearts die.  Papers are from Echo Park's "Yours Truly" 6x6 pad.

For more challenge details, hop on over to the Color Throwdown Challenge blog and for more great inspiration from the other designers, stop by their blogs listed below.  We're thrilled to have Kim Hahn - a super talented regular participant in the CTD challenges - join us as guest designer for the month of February!  Welcome Kim!

Tag...Julia is It!

Karen Barber is honoring Julia Aston for today's Color Challenge over on SCS as Julia is leaving the CC design team. In honor of Julia's love of neutrals and clean and classy style, we are asked to use Crumb Cake, Vanilla and Black with the dessert option to keep it clean and classy. I had plans to keep this tag simple, but I just couldn't seem to stop myself with embellishments, so no dessert for me this time!  :-)  Julia is also known for her wonderful 3-D projects which is another reason I went with a non-card project.  I sponged the ready made tag with Crumb Cake (too light), so added a touch of Soft Suede ink.  Some measuring tape ribbon, a corrugated frame by Jenni Bowlin, buttons, stickpins, shabby chic flower and a leaf filled Die-Namic by MFT were included.  The only stamping was the dress form from SU's Sew Suite set.  Am thinking I'll use the sentiment "Sew glad we're friends" whenever I decide to gift this tag.  Thanks, Julia, for your years of service to the CC!

More Valentines!

A co-worker asked me to create 4 cards for her grandchildren, so this is a start on that order.  The first card uses Karen Giron's layout for her Sweet Sunday Sketch Challenge.  I paper pieced the dress and colored with Copics...accenting with a couple of mini rolled roses.  Papers are from the "Love Me" 6x6 pad by MME...with a heart border from glittery CS from Michael's.  The image was stamped with Memento Tuxedo black on X-Press It Blending Card - the only paper I like to use with Copics!

STAMPS: Love You With All My Heart by MFT
ACCESSORIES: Button, Mini rolled roses Die-Namics by MFT, Small leaf filled flourish Die-Namics by MFT, Heart border die by PTI, Lil Inker Designs flag die, Rhinestones
COPICS: Hair-Y23, Y26
                Skin-E000, E21, E04
                Heart-R21, R22, R24
                Shoes-W4, W6

My second card was made for Judy's fun Technique Lovers' Challenge to "play with patterns".  I used two different patterns of DP and added the 3rd pattern by crimping the heart and sponging with Frost White Color Box ink for a striped look.

STAMPS: Blue Ribbon by SU, You and I by Verve
PAPER: Champs pad by Me & My Big Ideas
INK: Basic Gray, Real Red, Color Box Frost White
ACCESSORIES: Crimper, I Heart U die by Verve, Heart die by SU, Triple heart punch by SU.

That's all for now...appreciate your comments!
