Uncommon Goods

Anne has a really interesting website for us to explore for the Inspiration Challenge on SCS! The company is Uncommon Goods where you can find anything but ordinary! I chose this Tree of Life necklace and was inspired to make this tree with Heather Flower Soft. The Rich Razzleberry panel was run through the CB using SU's square lattice EF. Martha's Optic Dot border punch and grosgrain ribbon completed the border. Sponging was done with Tim Holtz Antique Linen distress ink prior to removing the Nestie. Cottage Wall DP from SU is the source of the striped panel. Thanks for stopping by...can't believe it's the w/e already!

For Your Inspiration!

You might have noticed a new blinkie in my sidebar! I'm excited to help spread the word about a new bi-monthly challenge based solely on inspiration photos and you can submit projects made in any type of craft medium you choose. For more details...check out the FOR YOUR INSPIRATION BLOG now! This will be an opportunity for you to let other talents shine (in addition to papercrafting) if you so choose!

Almost Monochrome VLV

Amy has a great sketch for the Viva la Verve Challenge on the Verve forum on SCS! I also created this card for Wendy's Free 4 All challenge on SCS. I ran out of space for a sentiment, so that will be an inside job this time! It's funny how a card comes together at times. I had a scrap of large polka dotted DP on my desk and went with that first and zigzagged it to the base white panel. I thought I would use red as the "one other color" but didn't have any great red trim, so I went with kiwi instead. I love the fun girly images from Verve...added a prima and some bling and my card was completed!
STAMPS: Express Yourself (Verve)
PAPER: Kiwi Kiss, Neenah Solar White, Mambi Color Basics (Me & My Big Ideas)
INK: Kiwi Kiss
ACCESSORIES: Lace trim, Satin ribbon, Prima, Bling

I'm a Guest Bar Tender!

This card is for 4 challenges:
SCS Color Challenge - River Rock, Basic Gray, Whisper White
Flourishes Timeless Tuesday Challenge - Valentine card/creation
SCS WT - hearts
Raise the Bar - hearts (I was a guest bar tender this week!)
My photo looks rather washed out, but IRL the texture of the embossed white panel and the lace and the sparkle of the stickles on the heart make it stand out more. The recipe below will hopefully explain what I used for the card.
STAMPS: Love Notes (Verve), Text Objects (Verve)
PAPER: River Rock, Neenah Solar White, Cappella paper pad (BasicGrey)
INK: Basic Gray, River Rock
ACCESSORIES: Square Lattice EF (SU), Lace, Fancy labels die, Labels Fourteen Nesties, Primas, Diamond Stickles, CB

My Umbrella Girl

This card was made for 3 challenges:
MFT Wednesday Sketch Club
Creative Belli - theme is jewelry (use images of jewelry or use pearls, rhinestones, etc.)
CR84FN - Red, Turquoise, Brown
I paper-pieced the umbrella on this sweet Pure Innocence image and colored the rest of the image with Copics. The rest of the card is self-explanatory by checking out my recipe below.
STAMPS: My Umbrella (PI by MFT), Bountiful Backgrounds (Verve) - polka dotted panel
PAPER: Tempting Turquoise, Curio paper pad (BasicGrey) - umbrella, Martha Stewart Holidays - red panel, Neenah Solar White.
INK: Memento Rich Cocoa
ACCESSORIES: Gemstone flower brad by Paper Studio, MS chocolate seam binding, EK Success large scallop border punch, Lace trim, MS adhesive gemstones, Copic markers E000, E00, E55, E57, R22, R24.

Sweet Little Baby

This card is for 2 of my fave challenges:
SCS Sketch Challenge - Roxie has a simple, versatile layout this week.
Color Throwdown - Kristin has 4 fabulous colors that I turned into a baby card: Early Espresso, Bashful Blue, So Saffron, Crumb Cake.
I layered the frame so I could sponge Antique Linen distess ink along the inner and outer edges. I made a slit along the bottom so I could insert the body of the monkey image (stamped on subtle polka dotted DP & cut out). I highlighted his ears and nose and added a smile using Copics. Some baker's twine, a prima and some buttons finished it off. It's raining hard in VA and I'm SO THANKFUL it's not the white stuff! My heart goes out to those who got slammed elsewhere...especially the midwest and the plains...stay warm and safe!
STAMPS: To the Moon (Verve)
PAPER: So Saffron, Bashful Blue, Early Espresso, Crumb Cake, Neenah Solar White
INK: Chocolate Chip, Marina Mist (BB was too light for the sentiment)
ACCESSORIES: Baker's twine, Prima, Square Lattice EF, CB, Vintage buttons

Go Jerry Jo Cherry, Go!

Mothermark's Teapot Tuesday challenge is to help the underdog, Jerry Jo Cherry, convince the ultimate French investor that his moon cherries are the best! Hopefully this card will help him land the business deal of a lifetime! Check out all the challenge details HERE. The destination for this card is Mothermark's niece, Shari, who is fighting breast cancer. I'm hoping the promise of this verse will bring her a "cherry" hello! I used Karen Giron's layout for the Sweet Sunday Sketch Challenge - just love her sketches! Crystal Effects were added to the pair of cherries (gotta give it that moon glow you know!).
