Recessed Diamond Background

Gina K has a new BG technique video on Stamp TV called Recessed Diamond Background. It's fun, easy and gives a subtle texture...love the possibilities! I decided to use this with the Color Throwdown Challenge this week. I took a panel of Not Quite Navy CS and scored it on my Scor-Pal (see video link above for details) then wiped the entire surface with Not Quite Navy ink. I tried my hand at dyeing seam binding by spraying it with Tattered Angels Glimmer Mist, bunching it up in a plastic baggie overnight to create crinkles. It was easier to do than I thought and gives a unique look for vintage or Victorian style cards. I used one of Julee Tilman's great Plain Jane verses as the focal point of the card. Thanks for stopping by and don't forget to head over to the Color Throwdown site and join in the challenge...

STAMPS: Verve Plain Jane (Psalm 37:4)
PAPER: Neenah Solar White, Not Quite Navy, Certainly Celery, Cameo Coral
INK: Not Quite Navy
ACCESSORIES: MS Optic Dot border punch, Seam binding, Tattered Angels Glimmer Mist (Honey Dew Mist & English Ivy), Fancy Tags Shapeabilities, CM circle cutter, Slot punch (SU), Kaiser pearls, Prima flower, Scor-Pal
