Is it Spring Yet?

The Color Throwdown Challenge has some really yummy spring colors - thanks to Barbara! Pear Pizzazz...Blushing Bride...Kraft...it just doesn't get much better than this! I went with this dogwood image from SU and colored it with Copics (RV0000, RV11, Y02, YG91, YG93, E43, E44) & touched the centers with some Diamond Stickles. The Pear Pizzazz panels were embossed with a CB EF. I lightly sponged the edges of the punched butterfly (by Martha) using Blushing Bride ink, then added pearls. The layout is from Roxie's SCS Sketch Challenge this week. OK...that's all, folks!

Bad Dogs, Bad Dogs...

...whatcha gonna do? It's Teapot Tuesday time and Mothermark has another great story and great destination! READ HERE for all the details...and join the T.E.A squad - that's The Eternal Angels Squad in case you're wondering! So we're going to the dogs today and here is my dog's tale for you...go to Jak Heath's fundraiser for Katie Renz if you're wanting this adorable digi image (there's a link on the right side of my blog). He's a cutie and he's well-trained. :-) This is also for the Pixie Cottage Challenge to use your favorite coloring method - mine is easily using Copic markers! They blend so well...especially on the new X-Press It Blending Card! Since this is going to an injured cop, I wanted to keep it as masculine as I could. Some twill tape, a button with twine and the blue/brown colors did the job IMO. It's another dreary day, but doesn't look like we got the ice that they predicted - PTL!

STAMPS: Sentiment Flags by Lil Inker Designs, Digi image
PAPER: Elegant Soiree (SU), Manchester (SU), Soft Suede, White
INK: Memento Tuxedo Black
ACCESSORIES: MS twill tape, Vintage button, Twine, Copics, Optic dot border punch (MS)

Have a Blooming Good Day!

When Betty posted the Color Challenge on SCS (Baja Breeze, Pear Pizzazz, Bravo Burgundy), I knew I wanted to create a summer scene using a new PI image that just came in the mail. I paper-pieced clouds (from Verve's Up, Up & Away set) & added Diamond Stickles to make them sparkle. The image was colored with Copics. MFT's grass and open scallop Die-namic dies were used for the border. The sentiment is from another PI set called Blooming Good Day. The trio of flowers is a punch by SU. This card takes me into summer in spite of the freezing rain we're getting tonight, and has me feeling the (baja) breezes! LOL! I'm wishing!
This is also for Karen Giron's Sweet Sunday Sketch Challenge and for the Raise the Bar Challenge with the theme "Oh, to be a Kid Again".
PAPER: Bravo Burgundy, Pear Pizzazz, Baja Breeze, DP from SU (clouds)

Just Because

This shabby chic card is for 3 challenges:
The Shabby Tea Room - white & bright (use white &/or cream w/one other color)
Our Creative Corner - Let's Play Dress Up (take the basic sketch and dress it up in any way)
ODBD Shining Light Challenge - Wing It (include anything with wings on the card)
Since TSTR's sponsor was Webster's Pages, I just had to start with some of their gorgeous DP. This prima was the perfect shade, so had to add it to the Nestie layers. A die cut tag was cut from River Rock CS and the edges were sponged with Antique Linen distress ink. The sentiment is from Verve's new Sweet Treats set. We were also given a picture for inspiration & the crystal & shiny silver berries were translated as needing some serious bling on my card - lol! The circle Nesties imitate the dinner plate shape. Thanks for stopping by...I always appreciate your comments!

You Rock!

This is one of those non-mushy Valentines & I'm thinking it would go perfectly for my drummer son who plays in a rock band! I used the colors for Stacey's Curtain Call Challenge (Real Red, Wild Wasabi, Pumpkin Pie, Pacific Point, White) & the layout for Julee's Mojo Monday sketch challenge. I was happy to find this DP in my stash with all the colors and knew I wanted to create a couple of heart flowers. The stems are from Verve's Dream Big set - don't the leaves remind you of hearts? The hearts are SU's Love You Much - stamped in black and punched using SU's triple heart punch. The grass border die (MFT) helps to ground the flowers and of course, I had to add a pop of black ribbon. I love Verve's new Classy Label die with the coordinating stamp from the Sweet Treats set. I colored it in with Copics (B06 & YG63) and finished off the card with some tiny silver pearls. Hope you like it and hope your Monday is a fabulous one!

CAS Love

The CAS challenge on SCS is to be inspired by THIS CARD by cindybstampin'. I embossed a border along the top of the one layer card, added some Cherry Cobbler seam binding, & a die cut heart from DP by SU. The stamped images are from Verve (Love Notes & Blue Skies). I'm finished unwinding from a really slow shift at work this evening - lol! I kept thinking of all the stamping I could be doing while waiting for the clock to tell me my 8 hours were up!

Casing Tracy

Tracy Schultz (aka whoistracy on SCS) is the featured stamper and has a wonderful gallery with some great CAS and quilted style cards! I chose THIS CARD to CASE and changed the red focal point to a heart and added ribbon and embossing to the white base. I die cut 2 Labels Sixteen shapes, ran one through the crimper, cut it in half and layered it under the top Nestie. I also embossed the die cut heart and added a prima and bling. This card is also for the following challenges:
Pile it On - Anything Goes
Really Reasonable Ribbon - heart theme & ribbon

PAPER: Cherry Cobbler (SU), Neenah Solar White
ACCESSORIES: Labels Sixteen Nesties, Ribbon, Dotted Swiss EF, CB EF (? name), Prima, Bling, Tipsy Hearts die by Sizzix, Crimper
