School Days

Two of our grand children who live locally started school last Wednesday. That means Nana needs to come up with some teacher cards to have on hand! The Cupcake Inspirations Challenge has a school days theme, so I dusted off an old favorite Go To Gift Card Holder: Backpack stamp/die set by Papertrey Ink.

This card took me a LONG time to complete! The apple cover plate die must be faulty because I tried multiple times with different papers and using both my manual Big Shot and also my electronic Empress machines. Nothing would give me perfect cuts! I finally opted to just use it for embossing. I used Limeade Ice paper that matched the Granny Smith apple color. The tiny circle stamp for the paint box element was missing in action, so I had to go on the hunt for a circle elsewhere. I found an exact fit in the Holiday Wagon set (PTI).

STAMPS: Go To Gift Card Holder: Backpack Accessories (Papertrey Ink).

INK: Versafine Clair Nocturne; Limeade Ice, Cocoa Bean, Classic Kraft, Harvest Gold, Summer Sunrise, Aqua Mist, Lovely Lady, Hibiscus Burst, Amethyst Allure, Green Parakeet, New Leaf, Sweet Blush, Blueberry Sky (PTI).

PAPER: True Black, Stamper's Select White, Limeade Ice, Lovely Lady, Razzberry Fizz (PTI); Metallic silver.

DIES: Go To Gift Card Holder: Backpack Accessories, Skinny Frames: Diagonal Border, Cover Plate: Apples (PTI).

Sunday Stamps Challenge

I used one of my fave stamp/stencil/die sets designed by Kristina Werner for Concord & 9th. The Sunday Stamps Challenge has a great color palette for us this week and I used all but the lavender color.

I started by embossing with Kristina's Finishing Touches dies to add texture to the background.

The stencils allow you to color up the florals very quickly. Easy to line up the stencils and easy to die cut the images! I popped up the sentiment and rose with foam tape.

STAMPS: Long Line Roses (Kristina Werner with Concord & 9th).
INK: Lemon Tart, Bright Buttercup, Summer Sunrise, Aqua Mist, Tropical Teal (Papertrey Ink); Versafine Clair Nocturne.
PAPER: Hey Cupcake 6x6 pad (Doodlebug Design Inc.); Stamper's Select White (PTI).
DIES: Kristina's Finishing Touches, Long Line Roses (Kristina Werner with Concord & 9th); Stitched Rectangle STAX Die-Namics (My Favorite Things).
OTHER: Long Line Roses stencils.

Happy Bee-day

A rainy Friday which always lends itself to more creative fun. I made this card for two different challenges. I used Linda's sketch for the Freshly Made Sketches challenge and was inspired by the inspiration list for the Festive Friday challenge. August 16 is National Honey Bee Day so their list was related to a bee theme. I used black, yellow, die cuts, bees, bee sentiment from the list.

STAMPS
: The Buzz (Reverse Confetti).

INK: Memento Tuxedo Black.

PAPER: X-Press It Blending Card; Stamper's Select White, True Black, Bright Buttercup (Papertrey Ink); Black & White Stripes 6x6 pad (My Favorite Things).

DIES: Simple Strips (Pretty Pink Post); The Buzz (Reverse Confetti); Hexagon Elegant (Simon Says Stamp).

COPICS: Y13, Y15, C0, C2, C6, C7.

Tic Tac Toe Challenge

I've been wanting to CASE a beautiful card sent to me by a fellow stamper from Texas (Susie Moore), so the new Tic Tac Toe challenge was the perfect motivation to create this card. I used the far left vertical row of friendship, any color and any shape die. I loved Susie's concept of popping up a frame over the pierced stitching background. I double cut the sentiment die to make it sturdier and more dimensional.

The Greetery has a list of supplies they will be retiring soon and when they are gone...they are gone! The Print Shop: Floral Frame is one of those items.

Here's what I used:

STAMPS: Print Shop: Floral Frame, Comforting Commands (The Greetery).
INK: Limeade Ice, Simply Chartreuse, Lovely Lady, Melon Berry (Papertrey Ink); Versafine Clair Nocturne (Ranger).
PAPER: Stamper's Select White, Lovely Lady (PTI).
DIES: Blueprints 27 (My Favorite Things); Print Shop: Floral Frame, Comforting Commands (The Greetery); Stitching Cover Plate (Paper Rose Studio).
OTHER: Sequins, enamel dots, dew drop embellishments.
