Mojo Monday

Happy Monday everyone! Hope you're ready to kickstart your mojo and join us for the new Mojo Monday Challenge! I always love a sketch with some wide open space as it lets me have such a free range to create in that space!  It was perfect to stamp these button images from Verve's Button Best stamp set.  I white embossed the flowers from the same set after die cutting them first.  The leaves are from Verve's Sunny Days set.

STAMPS: Button Best, Sunny Days - Verve.
PAPER: Chapter One by Kaisercraft; Lime Green by Reverse Confetti; Bermuda Bay by SU; White by PTI.
INK: Sea Breeze, Siron Song, Beanstalk - WPlus9; Versamark; Versafine Onyx Black.
DIES: Tag Sale:Quilted Die and Mix and Mat:Scallops Die by PTI; Petal Points and Leafy Sprigs by Verve.

We'd love to see how you interpret this challenge!  You'll want to post your creation on the Mojo Monday blog.  If you need more inspiration, check out the design team's creations below:

Inspired By All The Little Things

Hello everyone! Hope you're having a super Saturday and that you will be able to play along with us at Inspired By All The Little Things! The inspiration photo really jumped out at me with these scrumptious colors and my fave subject matter...FLOWERS!  Here is my take on it using the layout for the current Freshly Made Sketches Challenge and the fun Fresh Cut Containers stamp set and matching dies by WPlus9.

I created the watercolor wash background by mixing Cracked
Pistachio and Peacock Feathers distress inks on an acrylic block.  After it was dry, I splattered some drops of water over it.  The plaid paper is from Lawn Fawn's Perfectly Plaid Fall 6x6 pad.  Floral ink colors are by WPlus9: Sweet Nectar, Flamingo, Wild Mango, Pumpkin Spice, and Beanstalk.  I used Orange Marmelade Nuvo Jewel Drops as accents.  I have to confess, I should stick to enamel dots because I can never complete a project without messing up at least one of the Nuvo drops - lol!  No sentiment added yet.  I like to keep some generic cards on hand so I can add just the right words as needed! :-)

Painted Flowers

Here is my clean and simple design for the new CAS(E) This Sketch Challenge with inspiration from Altenew's May Inspiration Challenge photo! I used just a hint of lavender by adding a pale watercolor wash using Zig's #803 English Lavender Clean Color brush pen.  I then stamped some splatters using Milled Lavender distress ink.  The flowers - from Altenew's Painted Flowers set - were stamped off once then step 2
was done with the same Picked Raspberry distress ink.  I used Twisted Citron and Mowed Lawn distress inks for the leaves.  I looped some black thread held in place with a medium glue dot and added the white embossed sentiment from Altenew's Painted Greetings set.  The white base panel was die cut using Reverse Confetti's Lacy Scallop Frame Confetti Cut die.  This was adhered over Raspberry Fizz cardstock by PTI.

I'm also entering this into the Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge with the theme "A Hint of Pink".

Thanks for stopping by and hope you're having a wonderful Thursday!

Color Throwdown

Hello everyone! There's a new Color Throwdown Challenge up and Amy Rysavy has some great pastel colors for us this week!  When I saw the multiple balloons, I headed straight for Simon Says Stamp's Balloon dies.  I'm needing a lot of birthday cards lately, so this will add another one to my stash.

I am CASEing a card by Sheri Carroll seen HERE for my layout.
I did some watercolor washes using Peacock Feathers, Spun Sugar with a touch of Worn Lipstick and Milled Lavender with a touch of Wilted Violet distress inks on Ranger watercolor cardstock.  After drying with a heat gun, I die cut 3 different sized balloons.   I added some white splatters with Memories Unicorn pigment ink and a stamp from SU's Gorgeous Grunge set.  The striped border is from Simple Stories' Snap Color Vibe 6x6 pad and I layered a strip of washi tape beside it.  Some black thread and clear sequins finished it off.  The sentiment die and stamp are also from Simon Says Stamp and is their Sending and Wishing set with matching Wishing die.

We're happy to announce the talented Amy Tsuruta of Tsuruta Designs is our May guest designer!  Welcome, Amy!

Congrats also to Maja Mihelj - our guest star stamper on the blog today!

Make It Monday

A quick post for Papertrey Ink's Make It Monday challenge to create a watercolor wash background.  This is one technique I haven't mastered yet, but I will keep trying!  To see a couple of incredible samples by Laurie Schmidlin, you'll want to check out her video HERE.  I used Weathered Wood, Stormy Sky, Scattered Straw and Wild Honey distress inks.  I first smooshed the ink pads on acrylic blocks, then picked up colors with a flat, wet brush.  I stamped the sentiment twice with a MISTI using Not Quite Navy ink by SU.  The leaves were stamped with WPlus9's Beanstalk and Last Leaf inks.  The roses were stamped with Daffodil Delight and Crushed Curry inks by SU.

STAMPS: Rosy Posy and Rosy Posy Step 2 by PTI; Pen & Ink by PTI.

It's time to hit the shower and head out to work!  Hope you're having a terrific Tuesday!

Sending Joy & Cheer

I'm back with another quick Monday post (*scroll on down for my Mojo Monday card)!  I used the sketch only for the current Fusion Card Challenge, was inspired by the hot pink and florals in the Card Concept Challenge and also played with the tic-tac-toe theme (I went with pink, die cut and twine) for the Paper Players Challenge.
This card lets the patterned papers do the talking and was easy peasy to assemble!  I used my favorite little edge die (Edge Essentials by Reverse Confetti) and went with a white embossed sentiment on black paired with yellow die cut sentiment die.

STAMPS: Sending and Wishing (Simon Says Stamp).
DIES: Sending by Simon Says Stamp; Stitched Rectangle by Lil' Inker Designs.

So, that's it for me today...heading off to work this afternoon with lots of new admissions at Wilson Workforce Rehabilitation Center!  Job security - lol!

Mojo Monday

Good Monday everyone! Whoa...I can hardly believe it's May already, but it is. Since it's the first Monday of the month, it's contest time over on the Mojo Monday Challenge blog! For every 50 entries (up to 7), Julee is offering a free Verve set of your choice.  All you have to do is play along and hope the random pick chooses you!

I loved all the fun layers on this sketch and started by picking a paper pad (Painted Blooms by Penny Black) that had some great coordinating patterns.  I love the font of this "Amazing Grace" Plain Jane sentiment and popped the panel with foam dots. I had a scalloped square wooden embellishment in my stash, so added it for some dimension.  The leaves were stamped with WPlus9 Last Leaf ink then I "rocked 'n rolled" the edges on their Appletini ink pad.  The
florals were stamped using Little Piggy and Pumpkin Spice inks - both by WPlus9.

STAMPS: Bloom and Grow (Verve); Amazing Grace PJ (Verve).

We'd love to see how you interpret this challenge!  You'll want to post your creation on the Mojo Monday blog.  If you need more inspiration, check out the design team's creations below:
