Fanspiration Diva Dare

The Verve blog is having a fun Diva Dare challenge this month -  be inspired by a card or project from the Verve fan gallery (other than a diva).  Whoa...that gallery is LOADED with Verve goodness and what a dilemma to pick just one!  I had this starburst cut file downloaded from the online Silhouette Cameo store and have been itching to use it on a card.  When I saw Marsha Drain's anniversary card HERE, I knew what I wanted to CASE.

So, get those polarized sunglasses on for this creation! :-)  The hot air balloons were paper-pieced using paper from MME's On the Sunny Side pad.  Clean and simple and am hoping it will bring a ray of sunshine into someone's life!

Raise the Bar is Back!

Our summer break is over and the bartenders are back with our weekly Raise the Bar challenges! Joni, our fearless leader, has lined up some awesome sponsors each month, so check us out HERE and play along...you just might be a winner!  Our theme for this first Friday of the month is "Celebrate Fall"!  Candy corn is one of those seasonal candies that appear on shelves in the fall, and I couldn't resist this adorable image called Timmy Candy Corn from The Greeting Farm - our sponsor for this challenge!

My Silhouette Cameo came to the rescue with this candy corn card cut file.  I used 3 different CS colors: White, Pumpkin Pie and YoYo Yellow and then hand cut the sections.

STAMPS: Sentiment Sampler by Paper Smooches
COPICS: W00, W1, W3, W5, YR15, YR16, YR18, Y13, Y15, R00, R01, R02, C00.

Be sure and check out the other bartenders' creations!

Sunshine for my Soul

A quick post before I have a hair appointment. I don't frequent Starbucks often (a bit pricey in my book...I'd rather buy stamp supplies - lol), but I always treat myself on the the way to getting my hair done. I'm thinking it's time for a pumpkin spice latte this time. OK...on with my card. Made it earlier in the week, and yes...there it is again!  The new Verve pennant die just begs to be used over and over!  This time I curved it a bit and covered the "bend" area with little pearl flowers.  I used colors for the ColorQ Challenge and used Karen Giron's sketch for the Sweet Sunday Sketch Challenge.  I added faux stitching using a dark brown Tombow marker.

STAMPS: Learning to Sail (Verve)-sun; Doodled Occasions (Verve)-sentiment.
PAPER: The Sweetest Thing "Tangerine" pad by MME, Chocolate Chip.
INK: Chocolate Chip
ACCESSORIES: MS Doily tag, Adhesive pearls, Pennant trim die by Verve.

We're still getting sporadic rain aka downpours, so humidity and warm temps are still hanging on.  Have a great Thursday everyone!

Color Throwdown

Another Color Throwdown Challenge is on board, and this week it's brought to you by the talented Denise Marzec!  Aren't these fabulous colors?  Oh, yeah!

I love these filigree leaves from the Silhouette Cameo online store - cut from Garden Green CS.  The flower is layered using the small and medium images from Verve's new "Brighter Days" set (colored with Copics RV10, RV23, RV25).  I love these bolder sentiments in this great font combination - from Verve's new "Lean on Me" set.

Remember...to play along, you don't have to have the exact colors.  You can choose something that's close in color.  Please use the keyword CTD208 if you upload to a public gallery and be sure to add your card to the link service at the bottom of the CTD blog post.  You'll want to stop by and visit the rest of the design team's blogs, as well as our talented guestie - Sherry Cheever from Walkin' on the BAD Side!  Welcome, Sherry!
Barbara Anders, Broni Holcombe, Denise Marzec, Joan Ervin, Kerri Michaud, Lori Tecler, Lynn Put, Tammy Hershberger, Sherry Cheever (September Guest Designer).

We have some wonderful participants from week to week and we can't wait to see what you create!

CAS Blessings

This is my second post for today (I'm laboring on with making cards - lol) and this time it's for the SCS CAS challenge to use fabric on a card. I used flowers made from satin fabric, so hope that counts!  I also used Chupa's layout for her Sketchbook Saturday Challenge and yes...I did tweak it some.  Well, maybe I tweaked it a lot but think I kept the basic elements! :-)  Card dimensions are 4 1/4" square with the BG embossed using SU's Fancy Fan EF.  The branch w/leaves is a Sizzix die.  Quick and easy peasy card!

STAMPS: Purely Sentimental by Verve.

Mojo Monday

Good Monday morning and happy Labor Day to all my US friends! I hope you're ready to get your mojo going, because Julee has a fantabulous Mojo Monday sketch for us this week!  I got my new Verve goodies in the mail last Thursday and felt like it was Christmas day - minus all the food - lol!  My little banner border is a new die and it is SO SWEET!  Another unexpected surprise was seeing the little faux cross stitching stamp.  I got really excited because my sewing machine can be pretty temperamental at times (it's old like I am :-) and this stitching stamp will be so easy to use instead!

What did I use?
STAMPS: Lean on Me (flower), With Love (sentiment), Borderline (cross-stitch border) - all by Verve.
PAPER: "Market" 6x6 pad by MME, Julianne DP by K&Co (green used in leafy flourish), Vintage Cream (PTI), Black.
INK: Versafine Onyx Black.
ACCESSORIES: Pennant Trim die, Pointed Flowers die, Rounded Scallop Frame die - all 3 by Verve; Rhinestone brad, Lace, Flag Die-Namic by MFT, Medium leafy flourish Die-Namic by MFT.

You'll want to head on over to the Mojo Monday blog and see more inspiration cards by the other mojomakers!  Have a blessed day and thanks for stopping by and leaving me a comment!
