Once Upon a Springtime...

I couldn't resist playing the Tuesday Trigger Challenge on Moxie Fab World after I saw this GORGEOUS inspiration picture! The shabby chic chair inspired me to distress the edges - both with a tool and with sponging of Antique Linen distress ink. The papers, tag & seam binding are new from my shopping trip last Friday. The layout is for the SCS Sketch Challenge...another great one from the dedicated Roxie!

PAPER: Stella & Rose "Mabel" (My Mind's Eye), Once Upon a Springtime Collection (Graphic45) - gingham DP & tag, Vintage Cream, Crumb Cake

Toadally Teapot Tuesday

The teapotters are letting their hair down and going dancing at the Roxbury this week! We're celebrating Roxie's faithfulness in bringing us over 300 sketch challenges on SCS, so this card is to say "Thanks tu-tu you, Roxie!" I'll have to sneak in the back door, because Mother has told us not to dress up this week. Tillie Toad...a long time fan of Barbara Bush...simply can't go anywhere without her pearls, and when she goes dancing, she has to wear her favorite Concord Crush tutu! This card is also for the Color Challenge on SCS...brought to us this week by Karen - the queen of black magic! Along with Concord Crush, we are to use Pear Pizzazz and Bashful Blue. The image was printed from a Google image and colored with Copics. I had some embroidery trim that worked perfectly to accent the tutu. Liquid Pearls were added to the..well..pearls! Since this was honoring Roxie's sketches, I HAD to use one of hers for the layout. Gotta go...it's time to boogie!

More Monday Mojo

This card uses the JUGS challenge layout and the colors for the Inkspirations Challenge - So Saffron, Wild Wasabi, Rose Red, White. This image is an old retired one from SU, but every spring I enjoy getting it out and coloring it again. That also qualifies this for Jessie Rone's Forgotten Stamp Friday challenge. This was a different sketch and one I hope to use again. Thanks for stopping by and commenting!
STAMPS: Spring Bouquet (SU)
PAPER: DP from 6x6 SU paper pads, Rose Red, So Saffron, X-Press It Blending Card
INK: Memento Tuxedo Black

It's a Jungle Out There!

I'm on a roll today...this time the card is for the Mojo Monday Sketch Challenge and for the Belli Challenge to use animals. The monkey is paper-pieced and the edges were sponged with Chocolate Chip ink. The leaves were die cut using Wild Wasabi CS and sponged with Always Artichoke ink. I think the rest is self-explanatory.
STAMPS: To the Moon (Verve), Birthday Bash (Verve) - balloons.
PAPER: Safari Chic stack by DCWV, Chocolate Chip, Vintage Cream
INK: Chocolate Chip
ACCESSORIES: Zigzag Die-namic by MFT, Oval scallop and label punches by SU, Leaf die by Sizzix, Sponge

CAS Purse Card

This card is for the 2 Monday challenges on SCS:
CAS Challenge - use humor
Technique Lovers Challenge - create an odd-shaped card - anything other than an A2 or square.
I thought some of you might get a chuckle out of this sentiment, so I created a purse card to go with it. I folded the leopard print DP page (8x8) in half and cut off a curved side. I saved that cut piece and inverted it and used it for a pattern to cut the other end of the purse. The top note die was used for the chocolate chip panel. I used 3 different fibers to create the handle and to add to the tag. A new prima from my shopping trip on Friday topped it off and made this a really easy project to complete!
STAMPS: Skipping Stones Design
PAPER: Safari Chic (DCWV), Chocolate Chip
INK: Chocolate Chip
ACCESSORIES: CB, Top note die (SU), Tag die (Verve), Fibers (EK Success), Prima

Note of Thanks

I love the weekly layouts for MFT Wednesday Sketch Challenge! The circle element gave me another chance to use my newest fave image. I also am playing with the Play Date Cafe Challenge to use black and white with a splash of color. I wanted to use some Webster's Pages DP for the vertical strip, so used ivory with black instead of white. Do I hear sirens in the distance - lol? The blouse was paper-pieced with SU DP from their Jolly Holiday pack. Copics were used to color in the remainder of the image. I'm off today and looking forward to catching up with some challenges between multiple laundry loads.

PAPER: Webster's Pages Lullaby Lane & Life's Portrait combo pack, Vintage cream (PTI), Black, Cherry Cobbler

5 in 1

After a hectic 5 days this past week...including working over the w/e...I'm calling this my 5 in 1 wind down creation! This is for the following challenges:
ODBD Shining Light Challenge - Choose 2 colors (yellow, pink, blue or ivory) & use as the focal color.
Raise the Bar - Use sentiment as focal point with no other stamped images.
Creative Cottage - Use a tag.
CCEE - Use swirls.
VLVMar2011 - sketch by Charmaine.
I used a swirl EF for the ivory base and layered a punched strip of Lemon Tart CS by PTI on top. This is such a soft, creamy lemon color and I just love it! I omitted the bow in the sketch because the floral trim was so fancy already. I added the green flourish (pulled from my scrap pile) as a last resort...it seemed too plain without a pop of some other color. I cut the sentiment layers to resemble a tag and added a brad. I'm not sure I'm happy with this but it will have to do for now. It's past my bedtime!
STAMPS: Easter Blessings (ODBD)
PAPER: Lemon Tart, Vintage Cream (PTI), Textured ivory (SU)
INK: Versafine Onyx Black
ACCESSORIES: Flourish die by Sizzix, Lace trim, MS Floral Band border punch, Swirl EF, CB, Brad, Circle Nestie
