Seize the Birthday - Silhouette

Good morning! This is my last time for a 2 month guest stint for the Seize the Birthday challenge and I want to thank the team for being so very gracious and a pleasure to work with! This week the topping is silhouettes. I love this look and very seldom think to use it.

I started with color blending distress inks on Bristol Smooth Surface paper. My favorite black ink for a crisp outcome is Versafine Clair Nocturne. It is a pigment ink so you have to make sure it's dry before you handle it!

STAMPS: Gradient Sunset (Altenew); Sentiment Suite Birthday (The Greetery).
PAPER: Bristol Smooth Surface; Fine Linen, Bright Buttercup (Papertrey Ink).
INK: Squeezed Lemonade, Spiced Marmalade, Fired Brick, Seedless Preserves distress inks (Ranger); Versamark; Versafine Clair Nocturne.
DIES: Love to Layer: Arches (Papertrey Ink); Ray of Sunshine (Taylored Expressions); Sentiment Suite Basics (The Greetery).
OTHER: Queen's Gold embossing powder (Ranger).

Here's hoping you find time to join us... Happy stamping!  ~Wanda

Floral Trio

It's another hot day in VA and I'm staying cool with stamping a card for two challenges. It's mood board week on the Just Us Girls challenge blog and I was definitely inspired by the shades of blue in the ocean and also the red poppies.
The layout was done using the sketch on the Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge blog.

The florals were stamped using black pigment ink then clear embossed and watercolored by smooshing distress inks onto my glass mat, spritzing with water and adding to the images with a brush.

STAMPS: Spring Flowers (Simon Says Stamp).
INK: Worn Lipstick, Barn Door, Squeezed Lemonade, Mustard Seed, Twisted Citron, Peeled Paint distress inks; Versafine Clair Nocturne.
DIES: Spring Flowers (Simon Says Stamp); Love to Layer: Arches, Border Bling: Tin Stitch (Papertrey Ink); Stitched Rectangles STAX Doe-Namics (My Favorite Things).
OTHER: Clear embossing powder; Alcohol inks.
Thanks for stopping by and commenting! Hope you are having a happy hump day!  ~Wanda

The Paper Players

It was a BIG challenge for me to create a one layer card, but I did it! That's the sketch request for The Paper Players challenge and I liked that the team pointed out if you glue anything onto your card, it's no longer one layer - lol!  In the past I have used embellishments, but technically that's a no-no!

I stamped the Sketched Flowers using Versafine Clair Nocturne pigment ink then clear embossed it. I watercolored the image using Pentrista paints then stenciled a watercolored outline using Aqua Mist ink.

STAMPS: Sketched Flowers (Simon Says Stamp).
INK: Versafine Clair Nocturne.
PAPER: Stamper's Select White (Papertreyink).
OTHER: Watercolor Wash Free Form stencil (My Favorite Things); Clear embossing powder.

Thanks for stopping by and commenting!  ~Wanda

Runs from June 16 to July 15.Your card must be new and include all three techniques:

✅ Die cut layering

✅ Stenciling

I used dies from a variety of PTI die sets.

Word Art Wednesday

There's a new Word Art Wednesday challenge with a familiar verse from Ephesians 3:20. I can remember a former pastor using this routinely in his doxology prayer.

I printed the verse on vellum then layered it over a striped paper from Making Memories that was dated 2005. So...in my stash for about 20 years and high time I put it to good use - haha! I'm loving these stamps/dies/stencils in Kristina Werner's Long Line Roses collection by Concord & 9th! I cut the one floral spray apart to fit it around the verse.

STAMPS: Long Line Roses (Kristina Werner for Concord & 9th).
INK: Ballet Slipper, Sparkling Rose, Bubble Gum, Mint, Meadow (Pinkfresh Studio); Versafine Clair Nocturne.
PAPER: Stamper's Select White, Vellum (Papertrey Ink); Pink & striped patterned paper (Making Memories).
DIES: Long Line Roses (Kristina Werner for Concord & 9th); Blueprints 27 (My Favorite Things); On the Edge: Scallops Collection (Papertrey Ink).

Not 2 Shabby is our challenge sponsor and they are offering a $25 gift card to some lucky participant! It could be YOU if you play along with us! Happy stamping and hope to see you in the gallery!  ~Wanda

Color Throwdown #835

There's a new Color Throwdown challenge with some of my fave colors: turquoise, yellow and green! I decided to dust off an older Spellbinders set called Tiered Tray. It has coordinating dies and sentiments that make it fun for a huge variety of options to decorate the tiered tray!

The card base and tray parts (except for the gold handle, yellow house, kraft roof, black display board, twig, cutting board) were cut from PTI's Rustic White paper. I added twine for a hanging loop on the cutting board...a small but fun detail.

STAMPS: Tiered Tray Sentiments (Spellbinders).
INK: Lemon Tart, Bright Buttercup, Honey Nut, Limeade Ice, New Leaf, Hawaiian Shores, Canyon Clay, Terracotta Tile, Classic Kraft, Dark Chocolate (Papertrey Ink); Versafine Clair Nocturne.
PAPER: Stamper's Select White, Classic Kraft, Bright Buttercup, Rustic White, True Black (PTI); Metallic gold.
DIES: Tiered Tray, Tiered Tray Decor (Spellbinders).

Here's hoping that you can join us in the challenge! Hope to see you in the gallery... ~Wanda
