Tic Tac Toe

I'm still having fun playing with the florals from Papertrey Ink's Blooming Beauties stamp/die set! This time I'm joining in the current Tic Tac Toe challenge and am using the middle vertical row of layers, green and ombre. My ombre element is subtle and is a result of color blending on the layers of the bow. I stenciled the background using Limeade Ice ink then dry embossed with the Cover Plate: Quilted die.

I added some detailing on the flowers using Prismacolor pencils.

Friendly Fronds

Happy Fri-yay friends! I had fun getting creative with this layout for the current Freshly Made Sketches challenge. It's also using stencils which fits the "stencil week" theme at Just Us Girls. I dug into my archives for this long-time-no-use 6x6 Mini Four Ferns stencil by TCW.

Blooming Beauties

Good Thursday morning! I finished this card yesterday using the new Blooming Beauties flower/die set just released from Papertrey Ink. Did I need more flowers? Probably not, but these just kept calling out my name. It's sold out in many places but I found some at Scrapbook.com. I also recently watched Jennifer McGuire's YouTube tutorial (from 7 years ago) on the watercolor block stamping technique. She had a few additional tips that were helpful from what I previously had tried using distress inks and acrylic blocks. I'm entering this into the Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge where anything goes this week.

Word Art Wednesday Violets

 

Hope you are having a wonderful week! It's time again for a new Word Art Wednesday challenge. Karen chose Psalm 27:13, but I decided to go with another verse from Psalm which has a similar vein of thought. I already had this stamp set from Papertrey Ink that hasn't seen ink in a long time. 

I gold embossed on black card stock then die cut and popped with foam tape. I embellished with the Into the Blooms: Violets die set. Everything was die cut from white paper then color blended with distress inks.

Just Us Girls

 

Couldn't resist playing along with the Just Us Girls challenge where it's mood board week. I was drawn to the vivid happy colors and created this "hello" card.  I started with the plaid background using a Watercolor Plaid stencil collection from Papertrey Ink.  Stamps and dies are from The Greetery and are some of my favorites! I realized I "needed" the sentiment dies to be able to pop it up so I ordered that option for the next time.

Inspired By...

There is a great new photo to get your mojo going over on the Inspired By challenge blog! I loved the mint colored scales and chose to go with a mint floral basket filled with geraniums. My card is also a loose take on the sketch option. I started with Mint Julep patterned paper plus Mint Julep solid color paper by Papertrey Ink. 

I had this Extravagant Floral Frames die set on my desk from a previous project and decided to use it yet again and layered it over the dotted swiss paper. Florals were all die cut from Bristol Smooth paper then color blended with distress inks. Tiny white centers of geraniums were embellished with Cloud 9 Nuvo Dream Drops.

Color Throwdown #827

 

Hello crafty friends! It's time again for a new Color Throwdown challenge! This week Lori is hosting and has chosen teal, pink and lime green for our colors! I went with a bouquet of daisies to add to my birthday card stash. Spring is a busy birthday time of the year for me with many friends and family members celebrating!

 

All of the flowers and leaves were die cut from white card stock then color blended and layered.

Baby Card Stash

Good chilly morning everyone! Wow...this winter weather is really hanging in there with ferocious winds and sub-freezing temperatures! I am briefly in my craft room posting these two baby cards I created last week. They are a CASE from someone but there is no watermark and I can't remember who made the initial card that inspired me. My apologies for not being able to give proper credit!
 

The eyelet lace frame is so perfect to pair with a baby themed card. I was able to use some older patterned paper in my stash. The florals were die cut from white paper then color blended.

The baby sentiment was cut twice and offset using white over a coordinating color. A small detail but an effective one IMO.

Inspired By...

Another card from my marathon stamping yesterday was inspired by the sketch and the red and aqua heart colors in the photo for the Inspired By...challenge. I started with the stenciled dotted panel in my leftover pile then added this fun rectangle die. I cut all the florals from white paper then color blended and splattered with water to give it a mottled look. 

These geranium dies from Papertrey Ink are some of my favorite go-to flowers in their Into the Blooms series. I debated about what color to use for the sentiment...white embossing on gray? black ink on white? My final choice ended up using gold embossing on white then popping it up with foam tape.

Freshly Made Sketches

Ongoing cold and wind yesterday led me to have a stamping marathon. One of the 6 cards I completed was for the current Freshly Made Sketches. Jacquie is hosting with a fun layout using a banner which was perfect for a masculine birthday card. I dug into some oldie but goodie dies from Reverse Confetti.

The background panel was from my leftover pile (yes, I'm still whittling away at using previously made elements). I needed some tiny hearts, so used the skinny heart frame die from Papertrey Ink and used the negative heart cut outs.

The Flower Challenge

A quick and easy card featuring the color pink for The Flower Challenge. I went to my leftover pile and rescued the background panel that used two patterned papers in a blush pink color. 

I die cut the sentiment twice to give it more dimension and to make it easier to adhere to the card. No stamps or ink used...only die cuts!
