Fusion Card Challenge

While it's Halloween and our grandchildren are thrilled to dress up for school and then to go trick or treating, I have a non-Halloween card for the new Fusion Card Challenge! The sketch is a bit different with the curved lines but I really loved the uniqueness of this layout! I started with this colorful paper from the 12x12" See A Silhouette pack from Stampin' Up after being inspired by the rainbow of colorful sprinkles in the photo. I picked out colors from the background to stamp this awesome Cozy Cup set from The Greetery.

STAMPS: Cozy Cup (The Greetery).
PAPER: See A Silhouette 12x12 pack (Stampin' Up); White (Papertrey Ink).
INK: Marina Mist, Night of Navy, Real Red, Cherry Cobbler, So Saffron, Crushed Curry (dye inks by Stampin' Up); Fairy Dust, Silver Lining (WPlus9).
DIES: Cozy Cup (The Greetery); Stitched Basic Elements (My Favorite Things).

We'd love to see how you are inspired by the new Fusion Card Challenge! Hope to see you in the gallery.        ~Wanda

Mojo Monday

Julee has another awesome sketch for the Mojo Monday Sketch challenge! I thought I was going with a Christmas theme when I chose these patterned papers, but made a last minute change and chose to use this Cozy Cup stamp set from The Greetery! It is so fun to watch the dimensional images come alive with the multi-step stamping! I could see a coffee shop gift card tucked inside for a gift!

STAMPS: Cozy Cup (The Greetery).
PAPER: Trim the Tree 4 1/2 x 6 1/2" pad (Stampin' Up); White (Papertrey Ink).
INK: Cherry Cobbler, Riding Hood Red, Wild Wasabi, Garden Green, Sahara Sand, Crumb Cake, Smoky Slate - SU; Fairy Dust by WPlus9.
DIES: Cozy Cup (The Greetery); Fishtail Flags STAX (My Favorite Things).

It's been a rainy day in VA and my photograph just didn't edit the same as when I "shoot" on a sunny day. Thanks so much for stopping by!                                              ~Wanda

Color Throwdown #567

Hello blog friends! It's Wednesday and Lori is hosting this week's Color Throwdown Challenge with some awesome new colors: teal, olive, rust and navy! I started with stamping a variety of leaves for the background then layered some vellum behind the frame so the sentiment wouldn't get lost in the busy pattern. I couldn't resist adding this little bird and some olive twine as embellishments.

STAMPS: Season of Change (Sweet 'n Sassy); Robin and Wren (The Greetery); Comforting Commands (The Greetery).
PAPER: Vintage Cream (Papertrey Ink); Vellum (SU).
INK: Navy Blue, Lagoon, Olive, Rust - dye inks by Reverse Confetti.
DIES: Pierced Feature Frames (Papertrey Ink); Crimped Frames (The Greetery); Robin and Wren (The Greetery); Comforting Commands (The Greetery).

We'd love to see how you interpret these colors! If you need more inspiration, check out the rest of the design team samples below.   Amy Rohl

CAS(E) This Sketch

This sketch for the CAS(E) This Sketch challenge was a bit of a struggle for me, so I'm posting this card in spite of
my hesitation to do so - lol! I love these Triangle Trees by Reverse Confetti and chose the simple sentiment from the same set for the repetitive word corner. What appears to be dark gray tree is actually a silver embossed tree. :-( Other ink colors are Green Parakeet, New Leaf, Aqua Mist and Hawaiian Shores by Papertrey Ink.

I used the Crimped Frame die by The Greetery for the white base panel and layered it over the A2 sized Hawaiian Shores CS base.

Sun is out today and the leaves are a beautiful range of colors outdoors! Hope you are having a great Monday!     ~Wanda

Paper Players Sketch

There is an awesome new sketch from Ann for this week's Paper Player's Challenge and you don't want to miss out on playing along with us! I pulled a fave new Christmas set - Christmas Eve by The Greetery - and went to town creating this sweet scene. My process started with choosing the patterned papers and from there, I decided on ink colors for the different images. I added fine glitter to the trees and just noticed I forgot to add a dot of yellow to the street lamp prior to taking the photo (it's done IRL though - haha!). I also took some liberty to add a few more snowflakes to the right upper corner.

STAMPS:: Christmas Eve (The Greetery).
PAPER: Trim The Tree designer pad and Early Espresso by Stampin' Up; Smooth White by My Favorite Things.
INK: Early Espresso, Soft Suede, Sahara Sand, Wild Wasabi, Garden Green, Certainly Celery, Old Olive, Riding Hood Red, So Saffron - all by SU.
DIES: Christmas Eve, Frosty Corners (The Greetery); Stitched Square STAX Die-Namics (My Favorite Things).

So, how will you interpret this sketch? Hope to see you in the gallery!                                                      ~Wanda

Just Add Ink

This week's Just Add Ink challenge is to include a technique on our card. I used ink blending on the background and heat embossing on the focal butterfly.

This was a special stamp set - Forever In Our Hearts - released by Pinkfresh Studio and it honors Layton's Legacy -  the son of Lea Lawson who is marketing director at Pinkfresh Studio. Layton lived his entire short life in a NICU before passing away. This fundraiser and card drive event happens every year with funds allocated for items/charities that help NICU families feel like they are not alone. $5 from each stamp set sale will go to Layton's Legacy. It's difficult to create a card when someone has lost a pregnancy, baby or child. The sentiments are sensitive to this type of loss and they help to share your condolences in a heartfelt and caring way.

STAMPS: Forever In Our Hearts (Pinkfresh Studio).
PAPER: Vintage Cream (Papertrey Ink).
INK: Night of Navy (SU); Versamark; Chipped Sapphire, Brushed Corduroy, Fired Brick, Evergreen Bough distress oxide inks.
DIES: Triangles Cover Panel (Reverse Confetti); Forever In Our Hearts (Pinkfresh Studio).

Freshly Made Sketches

There's a great new sketch up on the Freshly Made Sketches challenge blog and it was perfect to get a masculine birthday card made for a man turning 85 years old in our community!

My go to set is still the Geared Up Garage set by Stampin' Up with matching dies and papers in a 6x6" pack that make it so quick and easy to coordinate a layout.

The car was die cut from one of the patterned papers and the gears were cut from shiny silver cardstock by My Favorite Things.

Thanks so much for stopping by!                  ~Wanda

Sunday Stamps Challenge

I needed a card for a five year old boy who had surgery this week and the Sunday Stamps Challenge was the perfect layout to get it done. I kept it simple with patterned paper from Reverse Confetti's Fright Night 6x6" pad.

What else did I use?
STAMPS: Monsterous (Reverse Confetti).
DIES: Monsterous (Reverse Confetti); Stitched Circle STAX Die-Namics (My Favorite Things).
COPICS: YG11, YG13, YG17.
MISC: Googly Eyes (Stampin' Up).

Color Throwdown #566

Lisa has a great new color combo for the Color Throwdown Challenge this week - orange, gray and cream. I started to leave out this frog image but he was just too darn cute so I sneaked him in with a gray tummy - lol! The eyes of the bat and the frog have Glossy Accents added and it just doesn't show up in the photo at all! I started with blending distress inks for the card base: Antique Linen, Spiced Marmalade and Hickory Smoke.

STAMPS: Witch Way Is The Candy (My Favorite Things).
PAPER: Smooth White (MFT), True Black (Papertrey Ink), Smoky Slate (SU), X-Press It Blending Card.
INK: Versamark for sentiment; Memento Tuxedo black for images.
DIES: Witch Way Is The Candy (MFT), Striped Sentiment Strip Cover (MFT),
COPICS: pumpkins - Y35, YR12, YR14, YR18, E55, E57
                frog - YG61, YG63, C2, C4
                bat - C00, C2, C4, C6, R11

CAS(E) This Sketch

It's another dreary, rainy day in VA! After a couple of errands, I'm back home briefly before I need to head out again and meet my granddaughter when she gets off the school bus. I finished this quick and easy card this morning for the CAS(E) This Sketch challenge and will post it hopefully before the deadline hits me. This gorgeous paper is from the Feels Like Frost 6x6" pack from Stampin' Up. Love this pack of yummy patterns!

I used the large Bigz Snow Flurry die by SU which is still one of my "go to" large snowflake dies.  I used a brushed silver cardstock for the large snowflake but it looks like gray in the photo. These dreary days sure make it challenging to photograph cards! The smaller navy snowflakes are from the Frosty Corners die set and the sentiment is from Sentiment Suite: Christmas by The Greetery. I love how Betsy designs an ongoing sentiment series each release which fit with the Sentiment Suite Basics dies. This would be an easy card to mass produce for Christmas!

Thanks so much for stopping by!                  ~Wanda

Paper Players CAS Week

Good Sunday everyone! This week's challenge is to keep it clean and simple with a large sentiment as our focal point over on The Paper Players challenge blog. I love this CS Lewis quote and decided to ink it up several times with Memento Tuxedo Black ink and my MISTI. I love black and yellow together and thought it was fitting for the "shine" theme.

STAMPS: God is Good (Reverse Confetti).
PAPER: Every Little Bit 6x6" pad by Reverse Confetti; True Black by PTI; Smooth White by MFT.
DIES: Fishtail Flags STAX Die-Namics by My Favorite Things.

Just Add Ink & Freshly Made Sketches

My favorite colors popped up for this week's Just Add Ink challenge and I couldn't resist playing with these florals from The Greetery! I'm also using the  sketch from Freshly Made Sketches.

This was my first attempt using the partial outline die with the
poinsettia cluster and love it with the ink blending behind it (Coastal Cabana). I tried to mimic the look of the off white, very light green poinsettias and the lightest green ink I could find in my stash was Pistachio by Reverse Confetti.

STAMPS: With Love At Christmas (The Greetery).
PAPER: Smooth White (My Favorite Things).
INK: Coastal Cabana, Bermuda Bay, Pear Pizzazz, Garden Green, Certainly Celery, Old Olive - dye inks by Stampin' Up; Pistachio by Reverse Confetti.

That's it for now...hope you are having a great weekend. My day was filled with laundry, vacuuming, mopping, grocery shopping and college football games!                              ~Wanda

Fusion Card Challenge

There's a great new sketch as well as a fall photo to get your mojo going for the new Fusion Card Challenge! I used both as inspiration in my clean and simple creation.

I couldn't stop with just one strip of washi tape and used 3 coordinating colors for my horizontal element.

I inked up these fun images from the Pumpkin Patch stamp set by Reverse Confetti. A little jute twine finished it off!

We'd love to see how you are inspired by the new Fusion Card Challenge! Hope to see you in the gallery.        ~Wanda

Christmas Eve Snow Globe

I have been brainstorming on using the little church scene - Christmas Eve by The Greetery - in a snow globe format and finally put it to paper this afternoon. It's been pouring down some badly needed rain in our area and what better way to spend a dreary day than in my craft room?! Especially after a morning visit to the dentist to replace a filling that had broken apart.

I did some ink blending with my Taylored Expressions brushes and Soft Sky ink by Stampin' Up and the snowflake stencil from The Greetery. I took one of the Sentiment Suite Basics dies and cut 3 times from some wood grain patterned paper to create the globe base. Here's what else I used...

STAMPS: Sentiment Suite: Christmas and Christmas Eve by The Greetery.
PAPER: Smooth White by My Favorite Things; Bramble Rose 6x6" pad by My Mind's Eye.
INK: Memento Tuxedo Black; Soft Sky, Pool Party, So Saffron, Sahara Sand, Soft Suede, Certainly Celery, Old Olive, Wild Wasabi, Garden Green - dye inks by Stampin' Up.
DIES: Stitched Rectangle and Circle STAX by My Favorite Things; Sentiment Suite Basics and Christmas Eve by The Greetery.

Thanks so much for stopping by...                 ~Wanda

Color Throwdown #565

Another Wednesday means another Color Throwdown Challenge is happening. Jodi is our hostess this week and has chosen lavender, gray and black as our color palette! I'm making a big effort to build up my Christmas card stash and while my initial thought was to create a Halloween card, I decided to think outside of the box and use these Christmas Florals from The Greetery instead!

I started by stenciling the English Brick Wall stencil (My Favorite Things) in Silver Lining ink. I die cut it with the Crimped Frame die (The Greetery). The vertical strips are actually cut from Papertrey Ink's Pierced Feature Frames die. I used a light gray Zig clean color brush marker to add some details to the leaves. The sentiment must have been cut from a scrap of a different white CS brand since it looks so yellow in the photo. :-( It's amazing that there are so many different shades of white!!!

STAMPS: With Love At Christmas and Sentiment Suite: Christmas by The Greetery.
PAPER: Smoky Slate (Stampin' Up); Smooth White (My Favorite Things); True Black (Papertrey Ink).
INK: Plum Pudding (PTI); Grape Soda (Reverse Confetti); Fairy Dust, Silver Lining, Blossomberry, Cockleshell (WPlus9).
DIES: Crimped Frame, Sentiment Suite Basics, With Love At Christmas (The Greetery); Pierced Feature Frames (PTI).

We'd love to see how you interpret these colors! If you need more inspiration, check out the rest of the design team samples below.

Mojo Monday Sketch

I knew when I saw Julee's layout for the Mojo Monday Sketch Challenge that I wanted to use the Christmas Eve set from The Greetery yet again! I love this sweet little church scene that reminds me of many Christmas Eve services in years past.

I added some coarse glitter to the trees which always adds a festive element to cards (and festive wearing of glitter on my attire - lol)!

STAMPS: Christmas Eve (The Greetery).
PAPER: Winter Wishes by Echo Park; Smooth White by MFT.
INK: Memento Tuxedo Black; Silver Lining, Appletini, Beanstalk, Lake House, Falling For Blue, Falling Star, Old Gold.
DIES: Blueprint 27 and Stitched Circles STAX by My Favorite Things; Christmas Eve by The Greetery.

Winter Church Scene

When The Greetery released this Christmas Eve stamp set with the multi-step stamped church, I knew I would have to have it! I started with stenciling the snowflakes with the newly released stencil and added one of the pierced snow drift die cuts as well.  My photo doesn't show the sparkle in the trees from adding crystal fine Martha Stewart glitter. After I edited the photo, I realized I forgot to take a yellow marker and add the "light" to the lamp post! :-)

I'm anxious to play more with these Christmas stamps and will hope for some sunshine to add to the photo shoot so the glitter will show up!

Thanks for stopping by and commenting!       ~Wanda
