Tic Tac Toe Challenge

It's a lazy Friday after being ultra busy on Thanksgiving day. Only got into the 30's today and I hibernated where it was warm and got crafty after watering plants and rearranging some Christmas decorations. I played along with the Tic Tac Toe Challenge where I used the left vertical row of embellishment, gold and navy. This alcohol ink background has been in my leftover pile for a long time, so decided I'd make it work for this challenge.

I die cut 3 different snowflakes then stamped the sentiment with Enchanted Evening (PTI) ink and added a button w/white thread.

STAMPS: Just Sentiments: Warmth (Papertrey Ink).
INK: Enchanted Evening (PTI); Alcohol inks.
PAPER: Yupo; Mirror Gold; Enchanted Evening, Stamper's Select Whte (PTI).
DIES: Layered Snowflakes: Drift, Crystal, Flurries (PTI); Stitched Rectangle and Banner Flags STAX Die-Namics (My Favorite Things).
OTHER: Button (PTI); White thread.

Thanks so much for stopping by!  ~Wanda

The Paper Players Challenge

The latest Paper Players challenge is a sketch challenge hosted by Ann. I found an old background that I hot foiled with matte white foil over Tropical Teal card stock. I received the Sizzix "Chilly and Freezy" thinlits dies as a freebie gift a couple of years ago and never used it! It's such a cute die set and fun to assemble.

STAMPS: Just Sentiments: Warmth (Papertrey Ink).
INK: Versamark; Pure Poppy, Dark Chocolate, Spring Moss, Simply Chartreuse, Orange Zest, Canyon Clay (PTI).
PAPER: Tropical Teal, True Black, Stampers Select White (PTI).
DIES: Stitched Rectangle STAX Die-Namics, Stitched Sentiment Strips (My Favorite Things); Joyful Snowman (PTI); Chilly & Freezy (Sizzix).
OTHER: White embossing powder; Martha Stewart glitter; Matte white hot foil; Red button (PTI).

That's it for today! Thanks for stopping by!  ~Wanda

Just Us Girls Challenge

It's mood board week at Just Us Girls. I was inspired by the rustic star in the photo, so went with Papertrey Ink's Rustic Wood Star die set. I cut all the elements from white paper then color blended with dye inks. No stamps were used.
PAPER: Scrapbook Paper 6x6 (Horizon); Stamper's Select White (PTI); Gold.
INK: Pure Poppy, Scarlet Jewel, Pinefeather, Limeade Ice, New Leaf, Honey Nut, Classic Kraft, Cocoa Bean, Dark Chocolate (PTI).
DIES: Love to Layer: Scalloped Ovals, Border Bling: Joy Frame, Rustic Wood Star (Papertrey Ink).

The corners were rounded with a "chomper" tool to soften the look.

That's all for now. Have a great day!  ~Wanda

Bundle of Joy

I wanted to add a couple of baby cards to my daughter's card stash (she uses them for employees she supervises as a nurse manager). The Sweet Baby Bib die set from Papertrey Ink is always a go-to for me! I used patterned papers from Taylored Expressions. This qualifies for the Just Add Ink challenge where stencils &/or dies are to be used (one or both...I just used dies). No stamps used!

DIES: Love to Layer: Scalloped Ovals, Sweet Baby Bib, Line It Up: Baby (Papertrey Ink).
PAPER: 6x6 pad by Taylored Expressions.

S'more Love at Christmas

I was inspired to pull out an old set from The Greetery called S'more Holiday when I saw this photo for the {PIN}spirational Challenge. I stuck with my goal to create at least 2 or 3 of the same design so I can get my Christmas card stash completed. I'm nearing the end with that last count at 50.

I CASEd a card by Kay Miller and changed up the background stenciling and used different foliage dies.

STAMPS: S'more Holiday (The Greetery).
INK: Berrylicious, Warm Buff (Pinkfresh Studio); Limeade Ice, New Leaf, Simply Chartreuse, Vintage Jadeite, Pinefeather, Ocean Tides, Dark Chocolate, Fine Linen, Classic Kraft.
PAPER: Stamper's Select White, Classic Kraft (Papertrey Ink).
DIES: S'more Holiday (The Greetery); Into the Blooms: Swag (Papertrey Ink).

Word Art Wednesday

Good day everyone! It's time for a new Word Art Wednesday challenge and our inspiration verses are from Psalm 95:2-3. I send out Thanksgiving cards to a few folks and this will be one of them.

I printed the sentiment at 50% of the given size then stenciled over it using Papertrey Ink's Wandering Petals Collection. I sponged the edges of the frame with Dark Chocolate ink (PTI).

PAPER: Fall 6x6 pad (Echo Park); Stamper's Select White (PTI).
INK: Canyon Clay, Ripe Avocado, Dark Chocolate (PTI).
DIES: Mix & Mat: Plaid die (PTI).
OTHER: Wandering Petals stencil collection (PTI).

Our sponsor for this challenge is Creative Worship Stamps (formerly Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps). Come play along with us for a chance to win a gift card! Happy stamping!  ~Wanda

Color Throwdown #845

Wow...I'm having a hard time thinking about this being the last Color Throwdown Challenge! It was the consensus of the team to bring this long running challenge of 15 years to a close. Our lives have taken a variety of directions and the team was in agreement to "wind it down and let it go". I wanted to use these colors and end on a positive vibe with this beautiful verse of thanksgiving and praise that was part of the Psalm Reflections series at Papertrey Ink.

I CASEd a card on the PTI website and do not know which designer was my inspiration. The leaf frame was cut from watercolor paper where I color blended Squeezed Lemonade, Carved Pumpkin and Crushed Olive distress oxide inks.

STAMPS: Psalm Reflections: August (Papertrey Ink).
INK: Versamark; Squeezed Lemonade, Carved Pumpkin, Crushed Olive distress oxide inks (Ranger).
PAPER: True Black, Classic Kraft (PTI); Ranger watercolor paper.
DIES: Border Bling: Tin Stitch, Border Bling: Falling Leaves (PTI); Stitched Rectangle STAX Die-Namics (My Favorite Things).
OTHER: Queen's Gold embossing powder (Ranger).

We would LOVE to see a huge turnout for our last challenge! Hope to see you in the gallery!  ~Wanda

INK: Memento Tuxedo Black; Versafine Clair Nocturne.

Special Thanks

It's Veteran's Day today...a day set aside to recognize all those who are or have been previously in the  military service. A special thanks was an appropriate sentiment for my card that was inspired by the poppies in the photo for the Inspiration Station challenge #79.

I started by stenciling a script and a mini tile texture background. The poppies were cut from water color paper and blended with a shades of red and a hint of pink and orange distress inks. The leaves were blended using Crushed Olive and Peeled Paint distress inks.

STAMPS: Effortless Beauties (Papertrey Ink).
DIES: Into the Blooms: Poppies, On the Edge Scallops Collection, Effortless Beauties (Papertrey Ink).
OTHER: Mini Tile Texture 6x6" stencil by The Crafter's Workshop; Script stencil by Hero Arts.

That's it for today! Thanks for stopping by and commenting.  ~Wanda

Freshly Made Sketches

Good Saturday morning! Finished this card last PM for the Freshly Made Sketches challenge. Layered snowflake dies create the smaller circular element and the simple sentiment was die cut twice and popped up with foam tape for added dimension.

INK: Evergreen Bough distress ink (Ranger).
PAPER: Shimmer White; Blue Christmas 6x6 pad by Recollections; Stamper's Select White (Papertrey Ink).

Word Art Wednesday

Welcome to another Word Art Wednesday challenge! This one focuses on I Thessalonians 5:16-17 and is sponsored by Seth Apter Designs. They are giving away a $25 gift card, so be sure to play along for a chance to win! Seth Apter is a mixed media artist, instructor and designer so I wanted my card to include some mixed media elements.

I printed the verse after reducing it to 65% of the size. I then used a Ripped Banner die to cut the sentiment and a Love to Layer: Torn Edges die to cut the base layer. Edges were sponged with Brushed Corduroy distress ink. It's not real noticeable, but I stenciled a tea stain look on the base torn edges layer. I used a crimped frame and added some light modeling paste to the frame. A banner of frayed burlap and some jute twine and button were added elements of texture. A sweet little bird and some floral accents finished it up.

STAMPS: Feathered Friends Mini 4 (Papertrey Ink).
INK: Aqua Mist, Hawaiian Shores, Harvest Gold, Fine Linen, Dark Chocolate, Lovely Lady, Hibiscus Burst, Limeade Ice, New Leaf (PTI); Antique Linen, Brushed Corduroy distress (Ranger).
PAPER: Vintage Cream (PTI).
DIES: Feathered Friends Mini 4, Into the Blooms: Wreath, Into the Blooms: Clover, Ripped Banners, Love to Layer: Torn Edges (PTI).
OTHER: Watercolor Wonderful Stencil Collection (PTI); Burlap; Jute twine; Button; Crimped frame; Liquidex light modeling paste.

Thanks so much for stopping by and commenting! I hope you get a chance to play along with the challenge and hopefully you will be a blessed winner!  ~Wanda
