Color Throwdown #782

 

Happy hump day friends! It's Wednesday, so that means a new Color Throwdown challenge. Kelly is our host and has chosen burgundy, rose and sage as the color palette. I used Papertrey Ink colors with Scarlet Jewel, Autumn Rose and Prairie Grass papers. The strips "did all the talking" with the colors this week.

PTI February Release Day 4

It's the fourth and last day of reveals for the February release at Papertrey Ink. Today, we are introducing you to He is Risen dies + Spectacular Spiral dies + Thoughts of Easter Sentiments stamps and dies + Beautiful Branches Hot Foil Plate.

 

Had some color blending fun with the background and lattice layers.

I wanted the wood grain of the cross to be more visible (the die has embossing details) so I stamped the woodgrain background stamp over it.

Here I have the cross popped up over a background using the Beautiful Branches hot foil plate with matte gold foil.

The Spectacular Spiral die is a beautiful addition that adds a great layer of texture to the card.

PTI February Release Day 3

Welcome back to day three of the February release at Papertrey Ink. Today, we are introducing you to Reflections: February stamps and dies + Spring Silhouettes dies.

 

No surprise here that I used the Wild Blooms stencil set as a backdrop to this great Easter verse! I kept it simple with some layering over striped paper. The verse was popped up with a foam layer.

This was a fun shaker design to create! The new Delightful Bunnies stencil is so adorable with using texture paste for the bunny tails! I layered up two of the skinny hearts frames together to make it more sturdy.

The Spring Silhouettes die set is a sweet set! I kept the bunnies white with paper pieced eyes in gray. I added Nuvo Dream Drops: Cloud 9 to the centers of the little flowers.

PTI February Release Day 2

Hello again and welcome to day two of the February release at Papertrey Ink! Today, we are introducing you to Into the Blooms: Spring Nest dies and stencils + Delightful Bunnies stencils + Easter Buddies stamps and dies.

I am totally loving this bird nest die set that has four different layers! There are eggs, flowers and leaves you can use as accents.

With the many birds in PTI's inventory, this nest will be a great die to use over and over to pair with the birds.

Check out these fun new Easter Buddies stamps and dies! You can create multiple personalities depending on the eyes/nose/ears/feet combination you choose.

I started with some patterned papers from PTI's Text-Style Egg Hunt 8x8" pad.

I chose to make a trio of bunnies and added accents from On the Bunny Trail stamp/die set. This little basket can be used year round and can be filled with all kinds of seasonal dies.

Next up I have a 5"x7" card using all three of the critter options! That cow and kitten are just the cutest!

I dug into the archives and used these Elegant Eggs dies layered over alcohol ink scraps. I also included patterned papers from another 8x8" pad called Text-Styles: Road Trip.

PTI February Release Day 1

Hi crafty friends! It's time for the monthly release at Papertrey Ink and we have some incredible spring and Easter goodies for you! Today, we are introducing you to Weather It Together stamps and dies and stencils + Thoughts of Spring stamps and dies + Flutter Flowers stamps and dies + Radial dies.

This set is so much fun to create a huge variety of umbrellas that you can fill with flowers or simply invert them and use by themselves!

I stenciled the dotted background then added a doily edge die cut. I framed it all using the largest of the pierced feature frame dies.

I smooshed some distress inks onto the background then layered the beautiful new Radiant Radial die over it. I lightly brushed Spring Rain ink over the edges.

Love the option for a tiny spring sentiment that is part of the Thoughts of Spring set.

INK: Salvaged Patina, Brushed Corduroy, Broken China, Tumbled Glass, Bundled Sage, Rustic Wilderness distress inks; Dark Chocolate, Harvest Gold, Summer Sunrise, Pale Peony, Berry Sorbet.
