Hope your weekend is off to a wonderful start! I'm playing along with the Festive Friday - Easter Challenge and was inspired by the inspiration list to use purple, flowers, cross and Easter sentiment. A clean and simple, self-explanatory design using stamps and dies from Papertrey Ink.
I had the Playful Patterns stamp/die set out from a recent project, so when I saw the new Just Add Ink challenge...I used the set again for two of the three elements: rainbows and shimmer! A shock for me to not choose flowers - haha! My daughter sends quite a few baby cards out to nurses she supervises, so I needed to replenish my baby supply.
I sprayed the rainbow and clouds with a heavy dose of Sheer Shimmer "Sparkle" craft spray and some of the spray also covered the background. So...the shimmer is definitely present! The "baby" sentiment and the rainbow/clouds are popped up with foam tape for added dimension.
Good Wednesday friends! There's a new Word Art Wednesday challenge happening with an inspiration verse from Psalm 147:11. Check out Karen's devotional on the WAW website and play along with us! Feel free to use the sentiment posted or anything goes if you prefer that route. Pretty Pink Posh is our sponsor and you have a chance to win a $30 gift card if you get randomly chosen.
I was totally inspired by a beautiful card by Kelly Lunceford on the PTI website (see it HERE). I modified my version by keeping the extravagant frame entirely white and I did not layer the hearts. I sponged Sweet Blush ink around the edge of the heart and did layer it twice to add more dimension.
Cecile has a wonderful new layout for the Freshly Made Sketches challenge! I stenciled with Fine Linen ink and a stencil from the Pro Stamper's Box: March from Papertrey Ink. I then splattered with Black Soot distress ink. I had the flowers and leaves in my leftover pile, so this was SOOO quick and easy to complete! The sentiment is from Altenew's Chocolate Flowers stamp set.
Another couple of weeks have passed by so, it's time for a new Color Throwdown challenge. This time, Vickie is hosting with lime green, green and blue for the colors. I needed to build up some sympathy cards for my stash and CASEd a card I made awhile back. I paired the Tuck It Sentiments stamp/die set with the Into the Blooms: Christmas Sprigs die set from Papertrey Ink.
All the florals were die cut from white paper then color blended with distress inks and a few dye inks. I used Fine Linen and Classic Kraft colors as neutrals for the base of the card.
I had quite a time assembling these hollyhocks (the dies are not easy!) but I hung in there and created this card for The Card Concept challenge inspired by the floral heart photo. I'm also using the layout for the Freshly Made Sketches challenge. I decided to use distress ink colors to color blend the florals after cutting them from Bristol Smooth paper.
Happy Wednesday friends! It's time for a new Word Art Wednesday challenge. Our scripture for inspiration is from Ephesians 3:16-19 and, in a nutshell, it talks about Christ living in our hearts and by knowing the love of Christ, we can be filled with the fullness of God. I focused on the word "love" and "hearts" and went with a favorite PTI wreath die set layered over a Tag Sale quilted die. I printed the verses and adhered them to the inside of the card. You can see a wee bit of the stenciled script on the background of the tag die. I layered two sentiment dies together to have a sturdier dimensional look.
Thanks so much for stopping by and commenting! ~Wanda
Good Saturday everyone! I got some happy crafty mail yesterday and just had to make a couple of cards using Concord & 9th's Triple-Step Happy Day stamp set. I've always loved traditional samplers - especially when I was in counted cross stitch mode many years ago. This stamp set reminds me of a contemporary sampler and it has countless possibilities for a variety of occasions. I watched the YouTube video HERE by Carissa Wiley which is very helpful with learning to use this new bundle. I always struggle to keep a card clean and simple. I just always want to layer and pop up the elements for added dimension, so hope this will be OK to enter into the CAS Colors & Sketches #555 challenge.
