Color Throwdown #778

 

Happy hump day crafty friends! It's time for a new Color Throwdown challenge with Lynn hosting this week. She has a beautiful combo of green, blue and kraft for our colors! I knew right away I wanted to use a fave die set from the Into the Blooms series at Papertrey Ink called Christmas Sprigs.

I cut everything from Bristol Smooth Surface paper then color blended with distress inks using brushes. I used dye inks on the berries.

PTI January Reveals Day #4

Welcome back to the last day of reveals for the January release at Papertrey Ink. Today, we are introducing you to Scribble Balloons stamps and dies + Tropical Frond: Hot Foil Plate.

This scribble balloon set is a fun twist on your standard balloon images! It also includes scribble presents which I did not include this time.

I layered up a couple of the patterned papers from the Black & White All Over pad. The balloons were white embossed after stamping the colored backgrounds then splattered with white Gouache paint.

I started with gray paper then hot foiled this lovely new frond plate using matte black foil. I wanted a sympathy style card and found this old sentiment die that I thought worked perfectly!

I die cut two of the sentiments and stacked them together to add more dimension. I added a trio of adhesive rhinestones to balance out the opposite corner.

PTI January Reveals Day #3

Welcome back to the third day of reveals for the January release at Papertrey Ink. Today, we are introducing you to Reflections: January stamps and dies + Into the Blooms: Daisies dies + Vintage Frames stamps and dies.

My first card highlights this lovely verse from Philippians. I used the beautiful patterned "bead" papers on the first one. It's a very thin paper weight but still works fine for layering on a card.  

I anchored the vellum layer with brads plus added tiny dots of glue under the embossed sentiment. Florals are all from the Into the Blooms: Wreath die set released last month at PTI.

INK: Lovely Lady, Hibiscus Burst, Raspberry Fizz, Melon Berry, Orange Zest, Canyon Clay, Vintage Jadeite, Ripe Avocado; Versamark.

I used the Wild Blooms stencil with lighter colors of ink for the background of my second card. This is currently my favorite PTI stencil!

I love these corner leafy dies that were released with the Psalm Reflections: October set.

Check out these beautiful new daisies that are part of the Into the Blooms series. They were all die cut from white paper then color blended with brushes and dye inks.

PTI January Reveals Day #2

Welcome back to the second day of reveals for the January release at Papertrey Ink! Today, we are introducing you to Beautiful Bows and Perfect Presents Stencils + Perfect Presents dies + Birthday Your Way II stamps and dies + Wrap-It Ribbon dies.

I was able to use all of the new items being revealed today on this slimline birthday card! I left the tiny tag on the center present blank to be able to add the recipient's name.

Birthday cards are my biggest need during the year, so these new items will be used often.

PTI January Reveals Day #1

Good morning! It's time to start posting reveals for the January release at Papertrey Ink. This month it's all about birthdays, more florals, another beautiful hot foil plate and another in the Reflections series. Stay tuned to get early looks before items are available to purchase on Thursday, January 30. Today, we are introducing you to Fantastic Front dies + Lofty Petals stamps and dies + Occasional Cupcakes stamps and dies + Love to Layer: Soft Scallops dies.

I'm totally loving this new versatile front die! I decided to add a spring/Easter/birthday cupcake from the Occasional Cupcakes stamp and die set.

The patterned papers are from an older PTI 6x6" pad with coordinating prints. I love that the arched sentiment fits perfectly into PTI's Banner Builders: Basics die set.

Next, I have a gift box decorated with a couple of the soft scallops dies and another cupcake. I lightly sponged Vintage Jadeite ink onto the edges of the scallops. The sprinkles on the icing were embossed with white and with Sea Turtle embossing powders. I added Glossy Accents to the candle flames.

Last but not least is a mini slimline card using the fun new Lofty Petals stamp/die set! I love creating backgrounds using narrow die cut strips. An easy way to use up those paper scraps that accumulate.

I used a white gel pen to accent the floral markings. They tended to "get lost" with just stamping them.
