The Paper Players

Jaydee has a great sketch for the current The Paper Players challenge! I needed a baby card so this was the perfect format. I angled two panels of patterned paper then assembled all the die cut pieces from PTI's Sweet Baby Bib die set. I cut them from Bristol Smooth Surface white paper then color blended all the parts. I die cut the base panel using the Border Bling: Tin Stitch plate from PTI.

Color Throwdown #766

Happy hump day! We are at the end of another month and this last Wednesday brings us to a great new Color Throwdown challenge with orange, pale blue and cream colors! I went with more of an apricot shade of orange and started with die cutting strips of Sky Blue, Apricot Appeal (retired SU colors) and Vintage Cream by PTI.

I dug out an old favorite stamp/die set called Branches of Love by PTI. The rectangle layers and the strips are dies in the Master Layouts 08 set by Gina K Designs.

IG Hop for PTI Release

PTI Release Time Day #4

These four days have flown by and we are already on the last day of reveals for the October release at Papertrey Ink! Today, we are introducing you to Psalm Reflections: October stamps and dies + Season's Greetings Hot Foil Plate and die.

The new psalm is a celebratory one and references trees so, I knew right away I had to get out my Delicate Trees stencil for the background. I stamped the sentiment with Versafine Clair ink (pigment) then clear embossed it.

I wanted a touch of bling and added these yellowish gold enamel dots. The corner leafy dies are a new fave for me!

I thought it would be fun to fill up this basket die with a bunch of holly and berries. A bow finished it up along with the beautiful new hot foil plate sentiment that also has a coordinating die!

PTI Release Time Day #3

It's day three already for reveals of the October release at Papertrey Ink. Today, we are introducing you to Peace on Earth hot foil plate + Mega Merry Christmas dies + Starry Delight dies + Ornament Opulence stamps and dies + Very Merry Christmas Sentiments stamps and dies.

I ventured out of my comfort zone and chose two colors (Royal Velvet and Winter Wisteria) which I rarely use. I thought it was a "regal" color combo with the gold hot foil plate design. I adhered two sentiment dies which made it more dimensional. The large star and also the two smaller ones were popped up with foam dots.

The Starry Delight dies can be layered and designed in so many ways...a fun new die set!

DIES: Mega Merry Christmas, Starry Delight.

Next is a card featuring the Ornament Opulence and Very Merry Christmas Sentiments sets. 

A simple design which would be easy to do multiple cards at once!

I added enamel dots and Crystal Stickles to the pink ornament. The background is an old Cuttlebug embossing folder in my stash.

PTI Release Time Day #2

Welcome back friends! It's the second day of reveals for the October release at PTI. Today, we are introducing you to Christmas in Frames stamps and dies + Candy Cane Classics dies + Into the Blooms: Holly dies.

This set is so much fun to create all kinds of scenes for all kinds of seasons! I incorporated a few elements (deer, gifts, sleigh) from a previously released set called Iconic Christmas.

I especially love the sweet snowman and also love how the pine trees can be layered up to different sizes. We have many, many deer in VA so I thought it would be a good addition to one of the scenes.

My next card uses the fun candy cane dies along with the holly dies.

I started with a background of white on white snowflakes from last month's release then sprayed them with shimmer spray. It sparkles so much better IRL!

PTI Release Time Day #1

It's that time again to reveal the October release items at Papertrey Ink. Today, we are introducing you to Skate Into the Holidays stamps and dies + Border Bling Candy Canes 1 & 2 + Fancy Snowflake Frame dies + Christmas Your Way stamps and dies.

The skate set is so versatile with some winter foliage included. I've seen work boots that serve as a "vase" and decided to go that route with the skate.

I embossed the blade with silver embossing powder and added some Crystal Stickles to the bow for a little extra shine. The candy cane border dies are a really fun touch for holiday cards!

Next, I have two cards using the gorgeous new fancy snowflake die. I kept them pretty simple so you could see the intricate snowflake better.

The base is patterned paper which could be easy to replicate with inks or water colors. 

All of the florals were die cut from white CS then stamped with several inks to color blend for a variegated look.

This next card uses a Yupo base with alcohol inks that was in my leftover pile. 

Since there was a wee bit of gold mixative in the background, I opted for gold gems, metallic gold circle and gold embossed sentiment.

PAPER: Yupo, White, Metallic Gold.
