Just Us Girls

Always love playing along with the Just
Us Girls challenge and this week, it's CASE a DT Week. I chose Carol McFarland's card which has an envelope/hearts/flowers postage theme. I also used her embossed background idea.

I used the 3D Eyelet Lace embossing folder by Honey Bee and also cut the scalloped edge with the coordinating die. Then it was time to fill up the envelope with goodies from The Greetery and I topped it off with my new fave waxed seal die set from Waffle Flower.

STAMPS: Blooming Beauties (Papertrey Ink); Signed and Sealed, Signed and Sealed With A Kiss (The Greetery).
INK: Sweet Blush, Lovely Lady, Hibiscus Burst, Limeade Ice, Simply Chartreuse, Ripe Avocado, Hawaiian Shores (PTI); Versamark.

Freshly Made Sketches

I'm needing quite a few masculine birthday cards in June, so decided that I would create one for the new Freshly Made Sketches challenge. I let the patterned papers do most of the "talking" and added a layered sentiment for the focal point.

STAMPS: Mashup Birthday (Papertrey Ink).
INK: Twisted Citron distress oxide; Enchanted Evening (Papertrey Ink).
PAPER: Stamper's Select White, Bright Buttercup, Pure Poppy (PTI); Surprise 6x6 pad by BoBunny.
DIES: Mashup Birthday (PTI).
OTHER: Moonshine sequins (PTI).

 That's a wrap for today!  ~Wanda

Try A Sketch On Tuesday

The sketch for the Try A Sketch On Tuesday challenge was an interesting one and I was inspired to do some paper tearing and masking to create a beach scene.   I die cut all the shells from Bristol Smooth Surface paper then color blended with a variety of dye inks. This was a quick and easy project and has put me into summer mode even if our weather says otherwise!

STAMPS: Salt Air Sentiments (Papertrey Ink).
INK: Sweet Blush, Pale Peony, Limeade Ice, Aqua Mist, Hawaiian Shores, Harvest Gold, Honey Nut, Classic Kraft, Fine Linen, Spring Rain, Blueberry Sky, Enchanted Evening, Ocean Tides (PTI).
PAPER: Bristol Smooth Surface; Rustic White (PTI).
DIES: Summer Shells, Love to Layer: Delightful Brackets (PTI).
OTHER: Jute twine.

The Paper Players

There is a great layout by LeAnne for the newest Paper Players Challenge! I needed to build up my sympathy card stash, so this black and white with a pop of color fit the bill.

The patterned background paper has a sheen to it which makes photographing it a bit tricky. The white panels were the interior of a Blueprints 27 die by MFT and I shortened the strips by about 3/8" to fit the plaid panel.

Again, you are seeing a new favorite stamp/die/stencil set by Kristina Werner for Concord & 9th. The sentiment was white embossed on black.
STAMPS: Long Line Roses (Kristina Werner for Concord & 9th); Tuck It Sentiments (Papertrey Ink).

INK: Ballet Slipper, Sparkling Rose, Bubble Gum, Mint, Meadow (Pinkfresh Studio); Versamark.

PAPER: Stamper's Select White, True Black (Papertrey Ink); Black & White Plaid 6x6 pad (My Favorite Things).

DIES: Long Line Roses (Kristina Werner for Concord & 9th); Stitched Rectangle STAX Die-Namics (MFT); Sentiment Suite Basics (The Greetery).

OTHER: Fine Pure White embossing powder by Altenew; Enamel dots.

Steeped with Love

It's a beautiful Saturday and I'm whipping out a card for a couple of challenges while waiting on a FedEx delivery and also waiting for temps to warm up. First is the Inspired By challenge which has a drink theme. I went with a teacup representing the "drink" and also used the sketch by creating a panel of strips over acetate (that accounts for the weird glare in the photos).

Second challenge is for Tic Tac Toe where I went with the top horizontal row with food/beverage, die cuts and soft colors.  I also got to break in the new Finishing Touches die set by Kristina Werner that gives a variety of options for stitched details. There's a small amount of stenciling on the tea cup and don't you love that wee sentiment on the tag of the tea bag?

STAMPS
: Brew-tea-ful Day Sentiments, Sips Tea (The Greetery).
INK: Limeade Ice, Green Parakeet, Bright Buttercup, Summer Sunrise, Sweet Blush, Lovely Lady. Hawaiian Shores (Papertrey Ink); Versafine Clair Nocturne.
PAPER: Stamper's Select White, Aqua Mist, Hawaiian Shores, Sweet Blush, Lovely Lady (PTI).
DIES: Simple Strips (Pretty Pink Posh); Kristina's Finishing Touches (Concord & 9th); Brew-tea-ful Day Bouquet, Brew-tea-ful Day Sentiments (The Greetery).
OTHER: Sips Tea stencil (The Greetery); Acetate.

Freshly Made Sketches

A new Freshly Made Sketches challenge is up and running. I tweaked the position of the sentiment but thought this rose was perfect for the crescent element. I can't seem to stop using this new Long Line Roses stamps/dies/stencils by Kristina Werner for Concord & 9th!

I had this alcohol ink background in my leftover pile for a LONG time and decided to start with that.

STAMPS: Long Line Roses (Kristina Werner for Concord & 9th).

INK: Peach Fuzz, Clementine, Persimmon, Grassy Knoll, Olive (Pinkfresh Studio); Versafine Clair Nocturne. Alcohol inks (? colors of blue and green).

PAPER: Stamper's Select White (Papertrey Ink).

DIES: Long Line Roses (Concord & 9th); Stitched Rectangle STAX Die-Namics (My Favorite Things).

Seize the Birthday - Frame

Welcome back to another Seize the Birthday challenge! This time the topping is to use a frame on your project. This is one of my favorite elements in card design and it adds more dimension to your card when you pop it up with foam tape! I went with some fun stamps/dies/stencils from The Greetery.

The background arch color was lightly blended with a pale pink ink. The Tin Stitch cover plate die by Papertrey Ink is one of my faves for adding more texture.

STAMPS: Floral Arches, Arched Sentiments (The Greetery).
INK: Ballet Slipper, Peony, Begonia, Espresso, Sage, Eucalyptus, Evergreen, Sweet Mustard, Marigold, Apricot (Pinkfresh Studio); Versafine Clair Nocturne.
PAPER: Stamper's Select White (Papertrey Ink).
DIES: Floral Arches (The Greetery); Border Bling: Tin Stitch (Papertrey Ink); Stitched Rectangle STAX Die-Namics (My Favorite Things).

Word Art Wednesday

Happy Wednesday everyone! It's time for another Word Art Wednesday challenge and this time, the verse is from Psalm 150:6. The message is basically that every living being should join in praising God in every way possible. It reflects God's love by showing that He delights in the praise of all His creation.

I went with one of my favorite color combinations. The plaid background is a stencil collection from The Greetery. I layered two arched die cuts with a banner flag between them. The flowers were a variety of leftovers from several different die sets.

STAMPS: Sentiment was computer generated.
INK: Salvaged Patina, Peacock Feathers, Twisted Citron, Peeled Paint distress inks (Ranger); Lemon Tart, Bright Buttercup, Canyon Clay, Spring Moss, Simply Chartreuse, New Leaf (Papertrey Ink).
PAPER: Stamper's Select White, Green Parakeet (PTI); Blue Raspberry (My Favorite Things).
DIES: Love to Layer: Arches, Into the Blooms: Spring Nest,  Build-A-Lamb (Papertrey Ink); Stitched Rectangles & Stitched Banner Flags STAX Die-Namics (My Favorite Things).
OTHER: Tartan Builder stencil collection (The Greetery).

Our sponsors for this challenge are Seth Apter Designs and Gina K Designs. They are EACH giving away a $25 gift card to two blessed participants! You can't win if you don't enter, so hope to see you in the gallery!  Happy stamping!  ~Wanda

Color Throwdown #833

A color combo that I LOVE is up for the new Color Throwdown challenge: aqua, gray and red! Well...I might have sneaked in silver paper and am calling that gray. 😀 It has a retro feel when I see these colors, so it was perfect to use my new Papertrey Ink "In Stitches: Adorable Apron" die set.

STAMPS: Seasoned With Love Sentiments (PTI).
INK: Versafine Clair Nocturne.
PAPER: Cool Collab 6x6 pad (My Favorite Things); Stamper's Select White, Pure Poppy, Classic Kraft, Aqua Mist, Bitty Big: Pure Poppy (Papertrey Ink); Metallic silver.
DIES: In Stitches: Adorable Apron (PTI); Basic Sentiment Suite (The Greetery); Stitched Rectangle STAX Die-Namics (My Favorite Things).

Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge

Our oldest grand daughter will graduate from elementary school today, so it was time to whip up a card. I went with the Bright Future stamp/die set from Papertrey Ink. I stamped the floral frame with Versafine Clair Nocturne pigment ink then clear embossed so it would be easier to keep within lines to color with Copics. I used the sketch (with some wee modifications) for the current Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge.

STAMPS: Bright Future (Papertrey Ink).
INK: Versafine Clair Nocturne; Harvest Gold (PTI).
PAPER: Bitty Big Harvest Gold, True Black, Stamper's Select White (PTI).
DIES: Bright Future (PTI); Stitched Rectangle STAX Die-Namics (My Favorite Things).
OTHER: Oval punches by Stampin' Up; Enamel dot; Copics: Y06, Y08, Y15RV10, RV02, RV06, YG21, YG13, YG23, YG25.
