Victorian Card

 

A friend requested a Victorian style birthday card, so I started with this patterned paper which reminded me of Victorian wallpaper. This also fits the new (to me) challenge: Love Those Pretty Papers Challenge where we have the optional theme of florals.

INK: Hibiscus Burst, Lovely Lady, Bright Buttercup, Limeade Ice, New Leaf (PTI).

PAPER: Pretty Posy 6x6 pad by FSC/Linda Wood; Stamper's Select White (PTI).

D is for Die Cut

 

I'm playing along with a new (to me) challenge! It's on the Little Red Wagon blog and they are continuing with the alphabet theme where D is for die cut. I cut out all the floral pieces from white Bristol Smooth paper them color blended. The leaves were also splattered with water.

Always Remember

Good Friday everyone! I went with a patriotic card with thoughts of the upcoming Memorial Day holiday that works for two different challenges: Freshly Made Sketches and The Card Concept.  I used patterned papers for the background panels then dry embossed stars onto kraft paper.

I was especially inspired by the colors, the tiny stars in the quilted runner and just the patriotic theme in general.

Birthday Pansies

I dusted off these pansy dies and created this card for three different challenges.

Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge #629 

The Flower Challenge #102 - add spots or stripes.

Cupcake Inspiration #617 - purple & sage colors.

I started with some Bristol Smooth Paper and color blended all the pansy and leafy pieces.

INK: Harvest Gold,  Mint Julep, Vintage Jadeite, Lilac Grace, Amethyst Allure, Royal Velvet (PTI); Versafine Clair Nocturne.

Bowl of Blooms

 

Good Friday morning! I combined 2 challenges together: Freshly Made Sketches for the layout and Retro Rubber Challenge which has us digging out those older items that haven't seen the light of day in awhile. They are also using the theme of "Sweet Spring Flowers". This Bowl of Blooms stamp/die set is an old set from Reverse Confetti (a company that closed a number of years ago). The patterned papers are also older pads from Reverse Confetti.  I seldom use Copics anymore and wanted to brush up (no pun intended - haha) on blending them with this image.

Seize the Birthday - Flowers

 

Hello friends! I'm thrilled to be guesting for the next two months with the Seize the Birthday challenge team! This week's topping is "flowers" and we'd love to have you play along with us. No worries if you don't want to use flowers as there is an option for "anything goes" if you choose.
