After 9 years, the Flower Challenge is ending with the December challenge to use Christmas florals. Thanks to all who headed up this challenge all these years! I'm hoping the holly berries and white sprigs will count!

PAPER: 12x12 pack by Recollections; Stamper's Select White, Pure Poppy (PTI).

Sending Well Wishes

I used colors for The Paper Players Challenge, the sketch by Verena for Freshly Made Sketches and added embellishments which qualifies it for The Flower Challenge.  The background was stenciled with Papertrey Ink's newly released In the Meadow stencil collection.

I layered vellum behind the heart then popped it up with foam tape for added dimension. The sentiment was stamped with a dark plum color though it appears black in the photo. Corners of the card were rounded using a corner chomper. I forget to use this tool but like the way it softens the look.
STAMPS: Direct Messages (Papertrey Ink).                         INK: Pure Poppy, Scarlet Jewel, Orange Zest, Canyon Clay, Spring Moss, Olive Twist, Simply Chartreuse (PTI); Regal Kiss (Pinkfresh Studio).
PAPER: Stamper's Select White, Vellum (PTI).
DIES: Direct Messages, Love to Layer: Rounded Hearts 2 (PTI).
OTHER: Sequins; Corner chomper; In the Meadow stencils (PTI).

Sympathy in Peach & Blue

Good Wednesday morning! I'm playing along with two challenges to create this sympathy card.

The Flower Challenge - a color challenge using peach and light blue.

It's been a long time since I played with the cactus die set from Papertrey Ink. So thankful they provided a helpful guide that illustrates how to layer up the blooms! I cut all the parts from white paper then color blended with brushes.

STAMPS: Perfect Pairs Commodities (Papertrey Ink).
INK: Metropolis, Licorice, Sky Blue, Waterfall, Sunshine, Peach Fuzz, Mimosa (Pinkfresh Studio cubes); Black Soot distress (splatters).
PAPER: Bristol Smooth Surface; Stamper's Select White (PTI).
DIES: Stitches Florals, Psalm Reflections: October, Into the Blooms: Cactus, Perfect Pairs Commodities (PTI).
OTHER: Word Window punch (Stampin' Up).
Thanks for stopping by!  ~Wanda

Celebrating You Today

Another card for my birthday stash that uses criteria for two challenges. The Flower Challenge #103 is asking us to add embossing (heat or dry). I used heat embossing for the sentiment and there are dry embossing details in the ric rac frame and the stitched edge on the plaid panel. The Paper Players challenge is a color challenge: peach, light blue and green.

STAMPS
: Sentiment Suite: Birthday (The Greetery).
INK: Peach Fuzz, Marigold, Summer Shower (Pinkfresh Studio); Versamark; Limeade Ice, New Leaf, Bright Buttercup (Papertrey Ink).
PAPER: Gingham Berry Sweet pad (Waffle Flower); Stamper's Select White (PTI).
DIES: Zero-Waste Chocolate Flowers Altenew; Sentiment Suite Basics (The Greetery); Border Bling: Skinny Ric Rac (Papertrey Ink); Stitched Rectangle STAX Die-Namics (My Favorite Things).

Cupcake Inspiration #617 - purple & sage colors.

I started with some Bristol Smooth Paper and color blended all the pansy and leafy pieces.

Flower Challenge #100

The Flower Challenge hits the 100th challenge milestone this week (congratulations!) and they are asking us to add circles to our cards!

I love this fun, whimsical die called Stitched Polka Dot Card Front by Concord & 9th. It was a no brainer for me to add circles!

I cut the flower pieces from Stamper's Select White paper then color blended with dye inks. This was made for a dear lady in our church who turned 85.

STAMPS: Cake Creations, Scribble Balloons (Papertrey Ink).
INK: Hawaiian Shores, Limeade Ice, New Leaf, Lemon Tart, Bright Buttercup, Summer Sunrise, Lovely Lady, Raspberry Fizz (PTI); Versafine Clair Nocturne.
PAPER: Blue Raspberry (My Favorite Things); Stamper's Select White (PTI).
DIES: Into the Blooms: Big Bloom, Love to Layer: Arches, Cake Creations, Scribble Balloons (PTI); Stitched Polka Dot Card Front (Concord & 9th).
OTHER: Sheer Shimmer Craft Spray "Sparkle" (Imagine).

Unfortunately, the shimmer spray doesn't show up in the photo.

The wind is howling and the rain is coming down hard right now. Guess March is in lion mode because it certainly is roaring! Thanks for stopping by...have a great day!  ~Wanda

The Flower Challenge

The newest Flower Challenge is happening and we are asked to use a stamped flower. No problem! One of my fave older PTI sets is Always in Bloom.

I've had the background panel in my leftover pile for a long time, so that's where I started. The tiny sentiment is from the Effortless Beauties set...my go to for a sentiment that doesn't cover up much real estate!

STAMPS: Always in Bloom, Effortless Beauties (Papertrey Ink).
INK: Lovely Lady, Hibiscus Burst, Spring Moss, Ripe Avocado, Summer Sunrise, Orange Zest, Terracotta Tile (PTI); Versafine Clair Nocturne pigment ink.
PAPER: Vintage Cream, Stamper's Select White, Share Your Heart patterned paper (PTI).
DIES: Always in Bloom, Effortless Beauties, Border Bling: Skinny Postage (PTI).

Hope you are having a great Fri-yay!  ~Wanda

The Flower Challenge

The Flower Challenge has some amazing colors that I just couldn't resist! I used Pale Peony, Berry Sorbet and Limeade Ice/New Leaf greens that match 3 of their color palette. I was totally inspired by a short video tutorial by Tina Smith on IG today when I created my card. All my die cuts were cut from white paper then color blended with brushes.

The big bloom die set from Papertrey Ink is the focal point then I layered it over a stenciled arch die which is layered over a fave Border Bling: Tin Stitch die which adds a great element of texture.

STAMPS: Birthday Your Way 2 (Papertrey Ink).
INK: Pale Peony, Berry Sorbet, Limeade Ice, New Leaf dye inks by Papertrey Ink; Versafine Clair Nocturne pigment ink.
PAPER: Stamper's Select White, Sweet Blush, True Black (PTI).
DIES: Border Bling: Tin Stitch, Into the Blooms: Big Bloom, Birthday Your Way 2, Love to Layer: Arches (PTI); Stitched Rectangle STAX Die-Namics (My Favorite Things).
OTHER: Adhesive gems; Just Notes: Stencil Collection (PTI).

The Flower Challenge

Hope you are having a terrific Thursday! I am squeezing in some stamping time while I still can before my husband's stem cell transplant this coming Monday. I'll be at the hospital quite frequently until he is discharged home in about 1 1/2 to 2 weeks. His aphoresis procedure went well and he has tolerated everything else very well, so here's hoping he will handle this next step without complications.

I loved the sketch for The Flower Challenge which was great for a wedding card I will need in the near future.

I had this background panel in my leftover stash where I stenciled small dots using texture paste. I chose to add the vertical strip using die cut vellum. I changed the sentiment location since the lower left corner was heavily "weighted" with the florals and I felt it would look more balanced to place it in the top right corner.

STAMPS: Tuck It Sentiments (Papertrey Ink).
INK: Bright Buttercup, Sweet Blush, Pale Peony, Berry Sorbet, New Leaf, Olive Twist, Ripe Avocado (PTI); Versafine Clair Nocturne.
PAPER: Vellum, Soft Stone, Stampers Select White (PTI); Bristol Smooth Surface.
DIES: Into the Blooms II, Ripped Banners (PTI); Sentiment Suite Basics (The Greetery); Stitched Rectangle STAX Die-Namics (My Favorite Things).
OTHER: Bubble Blower embellishment mix (Trinity Stamps); Texture Paste; Small dotted stencil (PTI).

That's it for today! Thanks for stopping by and commenting!  ~Wanda
