PTI July Release Reveal Day 1

Good morning! I can hardly believe another month has rolled around and we are ready for the countdown for the July release at Papertrey Ink! It's another great one and is filled with so much goodness! Today, we are introducing you to Window Garden stamps and dies and Paw Prints stamps and dies.

I started with stenciling the bricks on the base panel then wanted to keep the colors primarily in blues and yellows.

I wanted to "hang" the bird house so tucked a couple sprigs of greenery to mimic a branch.

STAMPS: Window Garden.
INK: Lost Shadow, Hickory Smoke, Bundled Sage, Rustic Wilderness, Antique Linen, Walnut Stain, Stormy Sky, Uncharted Mariner distress inks; New Leaf, Ripe Avocado, Simply Chartreuse, Lemon Tart, Bright Buttercup, Summer Sunrise, Canyon Clay, Terracotta Tile, Pure Poppy, Honey Nut, Cocoa Bean; Versafine Clair Nocturne.
PAPER: Bristol Smooth Surface; White, Bright Buttercup.
DIES: Window Garden.
OTHER: Brick stencil.

Next up is a very sweet dog set that I really needed in my stash! The expression of a pet going "over the rainbow bridge" when they pass led me to create a rainbow heart.

I layered a strip of stamped paw prints over a striped strip of patterned paper.

STAMPS: Paw Prints.
INK: True Black, Fine Linen, Weathervane, Cocoa Bean, Honey Nut; Hickory Smoke distress.
PAPER: Soft Stone, White, Hibiscus Burst, Raspberry Fizz, Bright Buttercup, Aqua Mist, Hawaiian Shores, Amethyst Allure, Melon Berry, Lemon Tart, Green Parakeet; Black + white patterned paper.
DIES: Paw Prints, Love to Layer: Hearts, Love to Layer Scalloped Circles.

And...I couldn't stop with just one doggie card, so here is another one!

There are two sizes of paw print stamps and I used the larger size to create another rainbow background.
A couple of angled frames and some black thread made this a quick and easy card! I really needed this several months ago when our daughter and her husband lost one of their fur babies. RIP Sammy!

STAMPS: Paw Prints.
INK: Hibiscus Burst, Orange Zest, Limeade Ice, Spring Rain, Amethyst Allure, True Black, Honey Nut.
PAPER: White, Limeade Ice, Raspberry Fizz.
DIES: Paw Prints, Pierced Feature Frames.
OTHER: Black thread, Banner flag die.

Color Throwdown #752

Happy hump day crafty friends! It's time again for a new Color Throwdown challenge and we've got fuchsia, green, terracotta and light gray.

I knew right away I wanted to use this Pretty Pot die from The Greetery and fill it with some hot pink geraniums! I smooshed distress inks onto Bristol Smooth Surface paper then die cut everything.

The base panel was stenciled using a new 3-step Basket Weave stencil recently released from The Greetery (I see it's currently OOS so others must have liked it as well!). I used 3 different shades of gray: Lost Shadow distress, Weathervane dye, Hickory Smoke distress.
I splattered the with Mowed Lawn and Picked Raspberry distress inks. I highlighted the flowers and leaves with Prismacolor pencils then added a tiny dot with a white gel pen to the centers of the petals.

STAMPS: Birthday Blooms (The Greetery).
INK: Lost Shadow, Hickory Smoke, Mowed Lawn, Twisted Citron, Picked Raspberry, Kitsch Flamingo, Rusty Hinge, Crackling Campfire distress inks; Versamark.
PAPER: Bristol Smooth Surface; Weathervane, White, True Black (Papertrey Ink).
DIES: Pretty Pot, Let's Have a Word: Happy, BotaniCuts Geranium, Crimped Circles, Crimped Slimline, Basic Sentiment Suite (The Greetery).
OTHER: Basket Weave stencil (The Greetery); White embossing powder.

We'd love to have you play along in the challenge. You just might get picked as the Featured Star Stamper if you enter!  ~Wanda

Color Throwdown #751

Hi everyone! Are you ready for some fabulous new colors for the new Color Throwdown challenge? It's aqua, kraft, gold and cream happening this week with Amy Rysavy as our hostess. I had an old panel of aqua and gold alcohol inks in my stash so that was my starting point. I recently bought the monstera leaf die set from The Greetery which I loved!

To add texture, I used a torn, crimped piece of cardboard and stenciled the base panel with Peacock Feathers distress ink with a script stencil onto rustic cream paper.

STAMPS: Birthday Your Way (Papertrey Ink).
INK: Peacock Feathers distress; Alcohol inks.
PAPER: Yupo; Rustic Cream (PTI); Metallic Gold; Kraft.
DIES: Birthday Your Way (PTI); Large Leaves: Monstera (The Greetery).
OTHER: Script stencil (PTI).

On a side note, I recently spotted a beautiful variegated monstera type of plant - about 2 feet tall - at a local nursery for a mere $250.00!! 😲 At that price, I will stick to my paper monstera leaves! Thanks for stopping by!  ~Wanda

PTI June Surprise Box

Papertrey Ink started a new monthly offer in June of a "surprise box". It's packed with loads of goodies (stamps, dies, stencils, a tool, embellishments, etc.) but you don't know ahead of time what you are getting...until now. The design team has been given the green light to go ahead and post a project using these goodies!

I squealed when I saw this fun wheelbarrow with all the flowers and greenery plus a flower pot and a mason jar (not shown). I paired it up with previously released picket fence and grass dies. The sky was lightly stenciled. I opted to place the sign on a post from an older set, but it would look great on the side of the wheelbarrow as well.

STAMPS: June 2023 Surprise Box, Paradise This Way (sign post) - by PTI.
INK: Tea Dye, Antique Linen, Rusty Hinge, Frayed Burlap, Walnut Stain, Bundled Sage, Rustic Wilderness, Mowed Lawn, Twisted Citron, Speckled Egg, Salvaged Patina, Mustard Seed, Squeezed Lemonade, Picked Raspberry, Spun Sugar, Kitsch Flamingo, Tumbled Glass, Mermaid Lagoon distress inks; Versafine Clair Nocturne.
PAPER: Watercolor, Bristol Smooth Surface, White.
DIES: Surprise Box, Picket Fence, Grassy Edge (Papertrey Ink).
OTHER: Cloud stencil (My Favorite Things).

Thanks for stopping by! If you like these stamps and accessories, head to the Papertrey Ink store quickly. Once they are gone...they are gone and there's no reordering! Happy stamping!  ~Wanda

Tic Tac Toe Challenge

Another watermelon creation...this time for the Tic Tac Toe challenge where I'm using the diagonal elements of picnic, CAS and Die Cut.

I did some ink smooshing with distress oxide inks for the green and red parts of the watermelon. I used the watercolor wash free form stencil (MFT) for the background then splattered with some darker green ink. The seeds were inlays from black paper.

STAMPS: Sweet Sentiments (My Favorite Things).
INK: Twisted Citron, Mowed Lawn, Rustic Wilderness, Festive Berries, Abandoned Coral, Candied Apple distress oxide; Versafine Clair Nocturne.
PAPER: Black & White Basics 6x6" pad (MFT); Bristol Smooth Surface; White, True Black (PTI).
DIES: Watermelon Slice (My Favorite Things); Crimped Slimline (The Greetery).
OTHER: Watercolor Wash Free Form stencil (MFT); Sequins (PTI).

Thanks for stopping by! Hope you are enjoying your weekend! It's a humid, hot day here in VA!   ~Wanda

Watermelons Abound!

The current Just Add Ink challenge is asking us to add a die cut inlay. I had just been browsing Pinterest for something to trigger my creativity when I came across cards by Amy Rysavy that used some watermelon stamps and dies from My Favorite Things. Watermelon is one of my favorite summertime snacks, so I dug into my neglected MFT box and pulled out some distress oxide inks.

I started by smooshing inks onto my glass mat then placed some Bristol Smooth Surface paper over the greens and reds to pick up and layer the colors. Then it was die cutting time. The seeds are the inlay dies here.

The card base was stenciled using the Watercolor Wash Free Form stencil (MFT) and Twisted Citron distress oxide ink and a large blending brush. I then splattered it with Mowed Lawn distress oxide ink.

STAMPS: Sweet Summertime, Sweet Sentiments (My Favorite Things).
INK: Twisted Citron, Mowed Lawn, Rustic Wilderness, Festive Berries, Abandoned Coral, Candied Apple distress oxide; Versafine Clair Nocturne.
PAPER: Black and White Basics 6x6" pad (MFT); Bristol Smooth Surface; White, True Black (Papertrey Ink).
DIES: Watermelon Slice, Flag Banner STAX Die-namics, Stitched Sentiment Strips (MFT); Crimped Slimline (The Greetery).
OTHER: Watercolor Wash Free Form stencil (MFT)
Thanks so much for stopping by! Clouds have rolled in and it looks like we are in for another thunderstorm here in VA!  ~Wanda
