PTI July Release Day 2

Hi again! Are you ready for more reveals on the second countdown day of the July release at Papertrey Ink? Today, we are introducing you to Eucalyptus Elegance stamps and dies + Wispy Tree die + Elegant Edges: Wispy Tree dies + Just Sentiments: You're On My Mind stamps.
I have three card samples that include these new items.

I started by smooshing some Ocean Tides and Limeade Ice inks onto my glass mat, spritzing with water then applying it to watercolor paper with a brush. The eucalyptus images are two step stamps so I stamped the first step with a combination of Ocean Tides and New Leaf inks. The second step involved gold embossing.

You get an early peek at a new mini tag that will be showcased more tomorrow. A very simple design!

STAMPS: Eucalyptus Elegance, Tag It: Minis
INK: Ocean Tides, Limeade Ice; Versamark
PAPER: Ocean Tides, White; Watercolor (Ranger)
DIES: Eucalyptus Elegance, Tag It: Minis
OTHER: Twine, Permanent White Gouache, Gold embossing powder

I already had this leftover alcohol ink panel from many months ago, so this card came together very quickly with the cover plate tree die. I added a gold embossed sentiment and some gold cording and I was done!

I love that this is such a great option for those difficult sympathy cards that are needed at times.

STAMPS: Just Sentiments: You're On My Mind
INK: Versamark; Alcohol ink in green + Gold fixative
PAPER: Yupo, White, True Black
DIES: Cover Plate: WIspy Tree
OTHER: Gold cord, Gold embossing powder

My last card is another great option for a sympathy card. I love the elegant edge die that is paired up with the wispy tree. I am having a love affair with Limeade Ice this summer so went with it again behind the white layer.

Note the dotted embossing detail of this die...love it! I decided to soften up the design by using a corner chomper on the two top corners.

STAMPS: Just Sentiments: You're On My Mind
INK: Versamark
PAPER: White, True Black, Limeade Ice; Black & White Basics 6x6 patterned paper
DIES: elegant Edges: Wispy Tree
OTHER: White embossing powder, Corner chomper

PTI July Release Day 1

Welcome everyone!  I hope you are ready for some fun new release items for July at Papertrey Ink! Today, we are introducing you to Into the Blooms: Orchids dies + Love to Layer: Ovals dies + Mini Picket Fence dies + Vase Collection 11 stamps and dies + Sprigs & Sprays: Fall stamps and dies + Weathered Tile Stencils. Release day will be happening on the 21st at 10pm ET. There will also be an IG hop that day so you can get another glimpse of all the new products.

This is really a fun new floral die set for the Into the Bloom series! It's a new favorite for me! I started with watercoloring the base panel then smooshed some shades of pink, orange and green distress inks to be able to die cut the various parts. Once dry, I splattered Permanent White Gouache paint with a brush.
I had a leftover piece of Soft Stone with a Modern Stencil design created with Liquitex modeling paste. I simply die cut the pot and sponged the edges with some Weathervane ink. Moonshine sequins were the finishing touch.

STAMPS: Tag-Its #12
INK: Mustard Seed, Spiced Marmalade, Worn Lipstick, Picked Raspberry, Cracked PIstachio, Mowed Lawn, Lucky Clover distress inks; True Black, Cocoa Bean
PAPER: Watercolor (Ranger), Soft Stone, White (PTI). Bristol Smooth Surface
DIES: Love to Layer: Ovals, Into the Blooms: Orchids, Stitched Rectangle
OTHER: Moonshine sequins, Liquitex light modeling paste, Modern Background stencil

My second card uses multiple new items! The base panel was stenciled using the beautiful Weathered Tile stencil.

I'm in love with the new set of oval dies and this one is the smallest of the three. The mini picket fence is also a sweet detail.

The new vase and the new sprigs and sprays are so fun to play with flower arranging! I added Crystal Stickles to the flower centers for a touch of sparkle.

STAMPS: Vase Collection 11, Sprigs & Sprays: Fall
INK: Soft Stone, Bright Buttercup, Weathervane, Smokey Shadow; Rustic Wilderness, Crushed Olive, Shabby Shutters, Twisted Citron, Mowed Lawn, Mustard Seed, Wild Honey, Barn Door, ripe Persimmon distress inks

DIES: Vase Collection 11, Mini Picket Fence, Love to Layer: Ovals, Skinny Frames: Diagonal Border, Sprigs & Spays: Fall

Color Throwdown #701

Hello friends! It's Wednesday and that means there is a new Color Throwdown challenge up and running! Amy Rysavy is hosting this week and has chosen coral, yellow, turquoise and purple. I thought these colors would make a festive kid's birthday card and went with these adorable stamps from Reverse Confetti. That awesome photo led me to color blend the background with distress inks on Bristol Smooth Surface paper.

I colored with Copics after stamping the images with Memento Tuxedo Black on X-Press It Blending Card. The stitched pinwheel cover panel die was used for the first time and I opted to not use the stitched inlaid pieces. I will use them for another card. The images are all popped up with foam tape.

STAMPS: Birthday Buddies, Birthday Buddies Banter (Reverse Confetti).
INK: Saltwater Taffy, Abandoned Coral, Squeezed Lemonade, Mustard Seed, Reacock Feathers, Wilted Violet distress inks by Ranger; True Black (PTI); Memento Tuxedo Black.
PAPER: Bristol Smooth Surface; X-Press It Blending Card; White (PTI).
DIES: Stitched Pinwheel Cover Panel, Birthday Buddies (Reverse Confetti): Love to Layer: Scalloped Circles (Papertrey Ink); Blueprints 27 (My Favorite Things).
OTHER: Copics

Thanks so much for stopping by and commenting! Hope to see your entry in the throwdown gallery. Happy stamping!  ~Wanda

Fusion Card Challenge

Hi friends and welcome to another Fusion Card Challenge! I used the awesome sketch plus was inspired by the florals & colors in the photo. It was perfect to highlight the Vintage Blooms stamps & dies and the Script stencil. I also used both of the circle stamps from Penciled Outlines to give a sweet detail to the white rectangle panel. These are all new items from the June release at Papertrey Ink.

The sentiment comes from the Effortless Beauties stamp from PTI and uses the "hello" theme from the photo. I added some Crystal Stickles along the lower portions of the blooms for a fun touch of sparkle.

STAMPS: Vintage Blooms, Penciled Outlines, Effortless Beauties (Papertrey Ink).
INK: Fine Linen, Spring Rain, Blueberry Sky, Enchanted Evening, Dark Indigo, True Black, Limeade Ice, New Leaf, Ocean Tides, Lemon Tart, Bright Buttercup, Summer Sunrise, Orange Zest (dye inks by Papertrey Ink).
PAPER: White, Dark Indigo, Bitty Big: Dark Indigo patterned paper (Papertrey Ink).

Color Throwdown #700

Hey...how about this milestone?! We are on the 700th challenge for Color Throwdown! Yours truly is hosting this week and I was inspired by these sweet campfire cupcakes to use the colors yellow, orange, kraft and brown. How cute would these be to put together?! I really wanted to use some green but restrained myself and stuck strictly to the colors - haha!

I used Brushos (Sunburst Lemon and Orange) to color a panel of Bristol Smooth Surface paper. Then I die cut a number of the 3 sizes of the Into the Blooms: Dahlia die set by Papertrey Ink. It's one of my faves in this floral die line! I layered them with foam dots and tucked in some jute twine in a double figure eight configuration - secured with a medium glue dot. A tiny tag leftover from many moons ago (so long that I do not know the origin of the sentiment) was then popped into place. I thought the Wood Plank background stamp (Papertrey Ink) was the perfect rustic touch for the card base.

We'd love to have you join us in the challenge! Happy stamping and hope to see you in the gallery!    ~Wanda

Seize the Birthday

Birthday cards are the #1 occasion for which I create cards! I needed a masculine card and decided this tie die stencil would be a perfect fit. I am entering this into the Seize the Birthday challenge with an "Anything Goes" theme.

The sentiment is from Papertrey Ink's Perfect Pairs Essentials stamp/die set which I use over and over because it fits most all occasions! I cut out the birthday die 3 times so it would have more dimension. Some moonshine sequins topped it all off!

STAMPS: Perfect Pairs Essentials (Papertrey Ink).
INK: Crackling Campfire, Peacock Feathers, Twisted Citron distress inks by Ranger.
DIES: Stitched Squares ('Lil Inker Designs), Perfect Pairs Essentials (PTI).
OTHER: Stencil by Erin Lee Creative; Moonshine sequins by PTI.

Happy 4th of July and happy stamping!   ~Wanda

Hollyhocks Are Blooming!

The Greetery was on top of their game this past week with speedy shipping! I ordered at 10:30AM on Wednesday and the order arrived on Friday! Woohoo! I couldn't wait to ink up these new hollyhock dies Friday evening and finished assembling them and placing them onto a card Saturday morning. They do involve some labor intensive work but so worth it when the dimensional flowers are completed!

I'm playing along with the new Paper Players Challenge where it's theme week. Laurie has chosen a "green thumb" theme, so these florals were a perfect fit! I colored everything with Papertrey Ink dye inks then splattered with water. I always love the mottled look that gives. I got to try out my new Brutus Monroe Stick and Stamp Mat and what a handy tool! No messing with taping down your stencil anymore.

I'm really hooked on using Limeade Ice for a light shade of green, so it was what I chose to use with the rectangle stencil.

STAMPS: Sentiment Suite: Birthday (The Greetery).
PAPER: White (PTI); Bristol Smooth Surface.
INK: Limeade Ice, Lemon Tart, Bright Buttercup, Summer Sunrise, Orange Zest, Sweet Blush, Hibiscus Burst, Berry Sorbet, Raspberry Fizz, Spring Moss, New Leaf (PTI).
DIES: BotaniCuts: Hollyhocks, Sentiment Suite Basics, Crimped Frames (The Greetery).
OTHER: Rectangle Extraordinaire Stencil (My Favorite Things); Gold brad.

That's it for now...enjoy the holiday weekend!  ~Wanda
