Sweet Celebration

Well, I'm late to the party and didn't get this card posted in time for the Freshly Made Sketches Challenge! I loved the layout and thought it would be fun to use the cupcake and floral dies from the Sweet Celebration die set from Ink to Paper!

The gray tag (Grid Stitched Tag die) is by Reverse Confetti and I love the stitched texture that is on the background.

I used Crystal Ice Stickles glitter glue on the icing and added black Enamel Accents to the flowers. The edges of the florals were all sponged with ink to give them more definition. I used Bitty Big: Aqua Mist patterned paper from Papertrey Ink for the cupcake wrapper. The sentiment is from Ink to Paper's Sweet Celebration stamp set.

It's another rainy, cloudy day in VA, but I'm thankful it isn't the white stuff - lol! Have a blessed day and thanks for stopping by!

I'm Back!!!

So excited to share that I'm back with Ink To Paper as a guest designer featuring products from their January and February releases! Their blog post today - you can see it HERE - features four of my cards using items from the January release. Stay tuned for more from their February release which is an AWESOME one...just sayin'.

I never seem to have enough birthday cards on hand, so this release gave me many options! I loved creating this patterned background with the fun daisies!

STAMPS: It's A Sign: Birthday Sentiments.
INK: Aqua Mist, New Leaf (Papertrey Ink); Memento Tuxedo Black.
PAPER: Bitty Big Aqua Mist, White, Harvest Gold (PTI).
DIES: It's A Sign: Birthday Sentiments (PTI).
OTHER: Punches in 4 sizes for the flower centers.

I wanted to showcase this set to create a masculine card. Texture was added through the embossed die, glossy accents to the candle flames and embossed vellum for the sentiment.

STAMPS: Sweet Celebration.
INK: Versamark; Blueberry Sky, Pure Poppy, Bright Buttercup, Orange Zest, New Leaf, Tropical Teal, Hibiscus Burst (PTI); Peacock Feathers and Mowed Lawn distress oxide inks used for water colored background.
PAPER: Tropical Teal, New Leaf (PTI); Water Color CS (Ranger); Vellum.
DIES: Tag Sale: Quilted Die, Mix and Mat: Postal Die, Sweet Celebration Die (PTI).
OTHER: Queen's Gold embossing powder, Glossy Accents.

Sponging the edges of all the flowers and leaves make them pop so much more on the card! Also, adding texture through glitter and enamel accents gives it more of a wow factor.

STAMPS: It's A Sign: Birthday Sentiments.

DIES: Sweet Celebration, Border Bling: Tin Stitch, Pierced Feature Frames (PTI).

I'm really getting into the Pantone color of the year which is a blueberry...almost navy shade of blue! This card has lots of fun layers happening.

Fusion Card Challenge

Hard to believe another two weeks has passed by, but it's time again for a new Fusion Card Challenge! You can go with just the hearts theme or you can use the sketch with it as I did and fuse the two together!

This is a simple Valentine that most likely will go to my dad - along with a few sweet goodies - who is in a nursing home. It's difficult for me because he's in another state about 6 1/2 hours away. He's 93 and will be 94 in June and has done very well up until the past year. So hard to watch a parent declining both cognitively and physically.

STAMPS: Sentiment Suite Love by The Greetery.
PAPER: Sweet As Sugar, Brick by Reverse Confetti; White by Papertrey Ink.
DIES: Scripty Heart (The Stamp Market); Scallop Squares (Reverse Confetti); Sentiment Suite Basics (The Greetery).

We'd love to have you play along with us at Fusion. For more inspiration from the rest of the design team, you can check it out HERE.

Love Theme

I created this card for the Paper Players challenge where it's theme week and love is in the air! I also used the sketch for the Cheerful Sketches Challenge which is new to me and has a different sketch every month.

I had never opened my pack of Jadeite card stock from Papertrey Ink and decided it was a pretty spring green and would work great with this multiple step heart set!

STAMPS: Love in Bloom (Papertrey Ink); Signed and Sealed With A Kiss (The Greetery).
PAPER: Jadeite, White (PTI); Color Splash 6x6" pad by Recollections.
INK: Sweet Blush, Pale Peony, Hibiscus Burst, Jadeite (PTI).
DIES: Love in Bloom, Tag Sale-Quilted (PTI); Stitched Fishtail Flags and Stitched Circle STAX (My Favorite Things); Signed and Sealed With A Kiss (The Greetery).

That's all for now! I may not be posting much these days, but I can assure you I am stamping up a storm for a guest designer gig and you'll want to stay tuned to see what that's all about!

Color Throwdown #579I

It's Wednesday and that means a new Color Throwdown Challenge is happening! Vickie is our hostess this week and has some great colors for us! I made a clean and simple card by covering a panel with wide washi tape (Altenew) then die cutting with a scalloped outline from My Favorite Things' Blueprint 27 set. Twine embellishment is Calypso Coral by Stampin' Up. The fun sentiment is a new two step, two toned set from The Greetery. I stamped with Sweet Blush and Pale Peony ink from Papertrey Ink. Next time I need to chose a bit more contrasting colors to pair together.

STAMPS: Written in Ribbons (The Greetery).
DIES: Written in Ribbons (The Greetery); Blueprint 27 (MFT).

CAS(E) This Sketch

The layout for the CAS(E) This Sketch challenge is a super great one and I couldn't resist playing along! I started with patterned papers from Reverse Confetti's new Sweet As Sugar 6x6" pad that has so many beautiful designs! I die cut a couple of leopards from the Heart Spots set by Reverse Confetti then colored with Copics. I added black enamel accents to their eyes to make them pop more with some shine and dimension.

The heart borders are from RC's newly released Hearts die set.
A quick, easy and fun Valentine for a couple of grands!
Thanks so much for stopping by!                           ~Wanda

Festive Friday Challenge

I'm playing along with a new (to me) challenge called Festive Friday! The inspiration board asks us to choose 3 things from the list and I chose hearts, pink,  flowers and red. I ended up with 4 things, so hope the challenge police will give me some leniency - lol!

I used stamps and dies from the latest release at The Greetery. This tiny envelope is so much fun to fill up and create a collage focal point!

I stamped the base with the large floral spray image from the Sketchbook Roses set and Memento Tuxedo Black ink (inked up 3 times using my MISTI). The black frame is a Pierced Feature Frame die by Papertrey Ink. Elements of the envelope are from two sets called Signed and Sealed and Signed and Sealed With A Kiss. The sentiment is from Sentiment Suite Love.

DIES: Postal Frames, Signed and Sealed, Signed and Sealed With A Kiss, Sentiment Suite Basics (all by The Greetery); Pierced Feature Frame (PTI).
PAPER: Kraft, True Black, White (Papertrey Ink); Blowing Kisses 6x6" pad by Echo Park.

Hope you have a wonderful weekend! Go Chiefs!  ~Wanda
