TGIF

A couple of my favorite challenges are merging for today: CAS-ual Fridays Challenge is asking us to use the photo for the Curtain Call Inspiration Challenge to create a card/project.  Finally, I took the plunge and tried my hand at using modeling paste with a stencil to add some texture to the background.  I thought it gave a snowdrift illusion.  I die cut the tree, sponged some Soft Sky ink and added coarse glitter with a glue pen.  The sentiment flag uses stamps from Reverse Confetti's "Bring on the Merry" set.  A little bling, some twine and frosted jingle bells and I was done.

Heading off to work in a few minutes...then I'm looking forward to a fun weekend off!  Enjoy your day and thanks for stopping by!

WPlus9 Mood Board Meets STS

Just couldn't resist playing along with the beautiful WPlus9 Monday Mood Board Challenge and combined it with the current Seize the Sketch Challenge. I used coordinating papers from We R Memory Keepers and built a floral bouquet on layered circles (offsetting them slightly like the circles in the paper).

STAMPS: Fresh Cut Florals (WPlus9)
PAPER: Simply Spring collection by We R Memory Keepers, White
INK: Versafine Onyx Black, Crisp Cantaloupe, Crushed Curry, Sage Shadow, Certainly Celery, Old Olive, Baked Brown Sugar.
ACCESSORIES: Fresh Cut Florals dies by WPlus9, Fishtail Flags Die-Namics by MFT, Buttons by PTI, White twine.

CAS(E) This Sketch

After coming home from work last evening, I found my new Reverse Confetti goodies had arrived in the mail.  Woohoo!  I couldn't resist making this quick CAS card using the latest layout for the  CAS(E) this Sketch Challenge. I added the washi tape first (Recollections brand found at Michael's), then found a scrap piece of green for the contrasting triangle.  The sentiment and stripe accent are from the "Tinsel 'n Trim" set by RC - perfect for creating an endless variety of tags!  I decided to soften the look of the card by chomping the corners.  Thanks so much for stopping by...

Color Throwdown

It's time for another Color Throwdown Challenge and Tammy is our hostess with a rainbow of lovely colors that have a wide range of possibilities!  I went with the brighter tones since I needed to build up some birthday cards to keep on hand.

I didn't think I would find any designer paper with all of the colors, but miracle of miracles...I found this striped pattern in the "Vanity Fair" Six by Six collection by My Mind's Eye - my favorite paper company!  Because I wanted to stamp each flower image twice (first in Regal Rose then again in Melon Mambo after moving the stamp slightly to get a shadow effect), I couldn't use the coordinating dies and had to fussy cut them.  I then popped them on foam dots after stamping the stems and leaves with Certainly Celery and the splatter image with Cajun Craze.  The stamp set is "Mums the Word" by PTI.

Remember...you don't have to have the exact colors.  Use something close and then link it up on the Color Throwdown blog using the linking tool at the bottom of the post.  If you post to an online gallery, please use the keyword, CTD268.

Snowy Tuesday

There were flurries in the air for a short time, but fortunately no whiteness on the ground today! I prefer to keep my snow on my card creations! I'm using the 5 colors that Mary gave us for the Color Challenge on SCS: Island Indigo, Bermuda Bay, Coastal Cabana, Smoky Slate and Pool Party.  I used them all!  I'm also playing in Karen Giron's Sweet Sunday Sketch Challenge - a great layout!  Leaves were paper pieced.

STAMPS: Freezy Fellas (Paper Smooches), Snowflakes (SU), Glad Tidings (Verve)-sentiment, Hearts a Flutter (SU)-banner flag.
PAPER: Bermuda Bay, Coastal Cabana (card base), Island Indigo, White, X-Press It Blending Card.
INK: Bermuda Bay, Coastal Cabana, Smoky Slate, Pool Party, Memento Tuxedo Black.
ACCESSORIES: Copics, Stitched rectangle, circle and border dies by Lil' Inker Designs, Fine glitter by MS, Glossy Accents (added to berries).

Sunday Stamps

While checking out the Pinterest posts today, I came across this sketch on the Sunday Stamps challenge blog. It's a new challenge for me and I couldn't resist playing along while chili is simmering on the stove and laundry is in the dryer. As you can see, I flipped it to a horizontal position...atypical for me, but wanted to use this wreath die again.  This time I stamped only 3 layers - Old Olive, Chocolate Chip and Crushed Curry - on the wreath.  I used foam tape to layer the wreath over a sentiment circle.  I added some shimmer to the fruit and flowers by using a clear Wink of Stella glitter brush pen.  I never tire of using banners on my cards which is another draw that I had to this sketch.  Another Christmas card added to my stash!

STAMPS: Woodland Wreaths (WPlus9)
PAPER: Hall Pass (We R Memory Keepers), Bundle of Joy (Echo Park), Vintage Cream, White
INK: Chocolate Chip, Baked Brown Sugar, Crushed Curry, More Mustard, Pumpkin Pie, Pear Pizzazz, Old Olive
ACCESSORIES: Woodland Wreaths die set (WPlus9), Fishtail Flags Die-Namics (MFT), Adhesive pearls, Wink of Stella clear glitter brush pen.
