Petals & Stems

Loved the Color Throwdown Challenge this week - Soft Sky, Crumb Cake, Chocolate Chip & Certainly Celery. Using Roxie's great Sketch Challenge on SCS for the layout made this a fun card to create while winding down after work. I used 2 MFT Die-namics dies for the grass and the jumbo rickrack. The flowers were cut out & popped with dimensionals.

Summer Flowers

The Color Challenge on Splitcoast was to use Always Artichoke, Cherry Cobbler & Pretty in Pink, so I combined this with Mercy's Tuesday Sketch Challenge to create this card. The 3 floral images were stamped in Versamark and embossed with white EP. I knew I should take advantage of these colors and start with my Christmas card stash, but I just don't want to give up my flowers quite yet - lol!

Verve Sketches Completed!

This is the 5th and last of Julee's sketches to celebrate the 3rd anniversary of Verve stamps...a straight forward card...nothing fancy...lacking in mojo, but I can say I'm done. Reading between the lines...it's 12:30 AM and I'm very tired.

Sunday Blues

Just couldn't resist playing with another of Julee's great Anni-Verve-sary sketches now that the race is over (#24 didn't fare too well today - sad to say...maybe he had his mind on his new little boy, Leo - lol). I started with the muted patterns in Memory Box's Spearmint pad, but felt it needed a pop of a darker color, so went with Bayou Blue. The scrunched flower was made layering 3 of the scalloped circles, cutting each 'petal' 1/4 inch, then scrunching away. Had to use my corner chomper again...it's my favorite tool right now! Thanks for stopping by...

Hey, Chick!

I had so much fun coloring this new stamp image from Penny Black! The sentiment is computer-generated. This was another sketch from Julee's anni-Verve-sary set of 5 sketches. I tweaked it slightly by making it into a 5 1/4 inch square card instead of an A2 size. Thanks for chicken in...LOL!

Monarch Butterfly

I took a break from chores and made another card using one of the 5 sketches for Verve's 3rd anniversary celebration. I kept it monochromatic using some of Tim Holtz great DP. Instead of the circle, I chose to use my new MS monarch butterfly punch and added some Dazzling Diamonds glitter. The ribbon is seam binding that I dyed with Tattered Angels glimmer mist and crinkled it by scrunching it up and drying it in a baggie. The white panel is embossed using CB's Victoria EF. Thanks for stopping by...

Shabby Chic

Normally I struggle with shabby chic style cards, but I finally felt like I mastered it with this card! I was inspired by Stef's Decade Gifts website in the Inspiration Challenge on SCS. There was a beautiful blue frame with a textured design and antiqued edges. I sponged Vintage Photo ink on some Tim Holtz DP that already had a vintage look to it then ran it through the CB using the Victoria EF. More sponging was added to the sentiment layers and the distressing tool was used. We learned to make the shabby chic flower out of wide ribbon at our last stamp club meeting (see the tutorial under Jenni's ribbon flower link in the right sidebar of my blog). The layout is one of Julee Tilman's anniversary sketches on the Verve forum. She is celebrating 3 years of her stamp company, so join in for a chance to win prizes by completing the 5 sketches in the next week. I can't wait to see the 8 new sets she will be releasing...peeks will start tomorrow on the Verve blog.
