Retro Sketches & CC

Hi everyone! I'm posting a CAS creation using the fun layout for the Retro Sketches Challenge and the colors for SCS Color Challenge (Midnight Muse, Pear Pizzazz, Strawberry Slush).  I haven't used any washi tape in awhile, so when I looked over my stash, I found I had the colors I needed.  While cleaning my stamp room the other week, I came across some forgotten ghost shapes by Heidi Swapp and used one of the flowers for this card.  The sentiment is from MFT's Grand Greetings set.

Mojo Monday

Good morning everyone! Julee has another great sketch for the Mojo Monday Challenge this week! Sooo many possibilities for interpretation!   I still had my gold embossing powder on my desk from a previous project, so decided to use a black BG for a change and add some gold.  Not sure why the designer paper looks gray in the photo when it is blacker IRL. The leaves were stamped with Kiwi Kiss ink on the same color card stock.  The flowers were fussy cut and edges were sponged with Tempting Turquoise ink. I used foam dots between the layers to add more dimension.  I looped and tucked in some gold cording using glue dots to adhere them.

STAMPS: Gorgeous Grunge (SU), Hope Blooms (Verve) - flowers, Bloom and Grow (Verve) - leaves.
PAPER: Authentique's Collection: Irresistible 6x6 pad; True Black (PTI); Vintage Cream (PTI), Kiwi Kiss and Tempting Turquoise by SU.
INK: Versamark, Tempting Turquoise, Kiwi Kiss.
ACCESSORIES: Gold cording, Rhinestone stickers by Recollections, Elegant Leaves die by Verve, Ranger Queen's Gold EP, Ribbon (Michael's).

Just Dropping by...

We've had the most gorgeous weather this weekend! If I could clone it and have it every single day, I just might consider it! :-)  I loved Karen Giron's sketch for the most current Sweet Sunday Sketch Challenge!  Decided to pull out this old Hampton Art stamp set and colored with Copics, fussy cut highlighted with silver and clear Wink of Stella brush glitter pens.  The spider was embossed with black EP so it would show up on the designer paper.  I hand lettered the sentiment but am not happy with my imperfect letters, so will probably print it out instead.

PAPERS: Haunted 6x6 pad by MME, White by PTI, X-Press It Blending Card (used for image).
INK: Memento Tuxedo Black, Versamark
ACCESSORIES: Corner chomper, Black EP, Wink of Stella clear and silver brush glitter markers, Copics.

Curtain Call & Deconstructed Sketch

Another quick post with a card for the following challenges:
Curtain Call Inspiration Challenge - Back to school theme
Deconstructed Sketch Challenge

The chalkboard was a dominant feature in the classroom in my day of schooling (we won't discuss how many eons ago that was! :-).  With it comes the memory of having to clean erasers at the end of the day for someone in the class.  From that thought, I went with the chalkboard technique and used this Flourishes sentiment as the focal point.  Every student needs some notebook paper, so next I used the notebook edge punch by SU.  A little library clip finishes my school themed project.

STAMPS: Just My Type (Flourishes)
PAPER: Vintage Finds (Teresa Collins), Vintage Cream (PTI), Black
INK: Versamark, Color Box White pigment ink (to sponge edges)
ACCESSORIES: White EP, Buttons, Border punch (SU), Library clip (SU).

SFYTT

Several months ago, I picked up this divine bar of Peacock soap at one of my favorite gift shops.  It smells SOOO good and the packaging totally inspired my card for Jen's Sketch For You To Try challenge! Each end of the soap has an elegant gold and blue design which you can get a wee glimpse of in this photo.  That was my cue to use gold embossing and to layer with gold metallic card stock and use gold sequins.  It took me back to my stamping roots as I remembered how fascinated I became when I first saw a demo of gold embossing powder.  Remember that OMG feeling of the transformation? LOL!

Here's what else I used...
STAMPS: Peacock Pretties and Arrows and Elements by Reverse Confetti
PAPER: Pacific Point, Old Olive, Metallic Gold, White
INK: Versamark, Pacific Point, Old Olive, Bermuda Bay
ACCESSORIES: Die-Namics Traditional Tags (MFT), Gold cording, Ranger Queen's Gold EP, Sequins by Avery Elle.

Thanks for stopping by!  It's a fabulous, sunny September day...no humidity (finally)! Hope your day is a good one!

Color Challenge

Good morning...hope you're having a terrific Tuesday! I'm looking forward to another glorious day off work - woohoo!  Started off with a quick CAS creation for today's Color Challenge on SCS.  Vickie Dutcher has chosen Pacific Point, Coastal Cabana and Tempting Turquoise with the dessert option of using dots.  I knew right away this Snowy Branches stamp by Memory Box would work perfectly!  I simply sponged the three ink colors onto white CS, popped it with foam tape and then cut a double sentiment die using Pacific Point and Black CS.  Easy peasy.

So, now I'm off to run some errands and finish my fall decorating inside the house.

Mojo Monday

Happy Labor Day everyone! I'm off today, but it was a weekend of labor for me with lots of new clients to admit yesterday! It's time for another Mojo Monday challenge and Julee has a fun sketch with some skewed panels this week.

I started with stamping a leafy background using three different images from Verve's "Autumn Splendor" set using Forest Foliage, Sage Shadow and Crumb Cake ink.  I've been working diligently on cleaning and purging my stamping room and came across this Forest Foliage CS...a real blast from the past - and I decided to pair it up with some kraft CS.  I layered up the sentiment and added jute twine, a silk leaf and a couple of wood veneer embellishments.  The ribbon banner was cut in half so I could extend it longer.

If you want some more inspiration, be sure and check out what the other mojomakers have created!
