Color Throwdown & MFTWSC

It's been awhile since I posted a card...not because I haven't been stamping! I've been working on cards for the Dirty Dozen gallery as well as a couple of DTs...so the creativity is ongoing...just can't post them yet! Yesterday I was having visions of corn kernels dancing in my head as I processed 60 ears of corn and now have 24 quart bags of corn in the freezer! It will taste so good this winter, but sure is a lot of work! My mother used to can and freeze tons of stuff, but I do very little of it anymore. There's nothing like preserving your own fresh veggies for better taste! OK...back to my card for today. This uses Tammy's colors for the Color Throwdown Challenge (old olive, so saffron, daffodil delight & dark gray) and it's for the MFT Wednesday Sketch Challenge. The PI girl was colored with Copics and since I used grass for the green element, I had to insert a soccer ball. Here's what else I used:
STAMPS: I Get a Kick Out of You (MFT), Tiny Tags (PTI)
PAPER: Champs DP by Me & My Big Ideas, Basic Gray, Black
INK: Memento Tuxedo Black
ACCESSORIES: Tiny tag star die by PTI, Twine, Copics, Large scallop Die-namic by MFT.

Bridal Shower Invitation

I loved the colors for the CR84FN challenge as seen in the inspiration picture here. I was also intrigued by the unique sketch by Kelly Schirmer for the Waltzingmouse Sketch Challenge and decided to go with a bridal shower invitation theme. LOVE paper piecing this beautiful gown image! The tag with the party information can be removed from the pocket created by the crisscrossed panels.
Here's what I used:
STAMPS: You're Lovely (Waltzingmouse Stamps), Brides & Babies (retired SU)
PAPER: Lilac Avenue Collection (Kaisercraft), Latte Matstack (DCWV), Plum Pudding (PTI), Going Gray (SU), White
INK: Elegant Eggplant, Going Gray, Black
ACCESSORIES: Ribbon, Adhesive pearls, Rhinestones, Decorative scissors (SU).

Mojo Monday

It's Mojo Monday Sketch Challenge time and Debbie Carriere has a great layout for us to work with this week! I revived an old 2-step daisy image from the retired SU Daisy set and layered it over the kraft panel stamped with a text about friends from Verve's Text Objects set. This is also for the Color Challenge on SCS to use kraft, red, & yellow with a dessert option to use green leaves.

PAPER: Riding Hood Red, Black, White, Old Olive
INK: Riding Hood Red, Old Olive, Summer Sun, Versafine Onyx Black
ACCESSORIES: Black grosgrain ribbon, twine, EK Success border punch.

Looking forward to a week off work...but have plenty of work around the house to catch up on! Speaking of work...need to get busy! :-)

Friday Mashup & VLV

Scroll on down to the 3rd post today to find my Raise the Bar challenge card! The Bar-tenders are back from a summer hiatus...check it out and play along!

I discovered a new Friday challenge through a stamping friend, and decided to play along this week. It's called Friday Mashup and you have the option to create an anniversary card or a card using glitter or you can "mash it up" and use both! My only glitter is in the brad, and the sentiment is a tiny heart tag (LOVE those mini PTI tag dies!) with simply "love you" stamped on it. I felt this card would be quite appropriate for an anniversary card, but could also be given to anyone you might want to convey this thought to. I stamped the BG in Stazon Cotton White...again using this scrollwork stamp I had out from an earlier project. The sketch by Andrea Ewen is for the Viva la Verve Week #2 challenge on the Verve forum. Loved the simple layout...needed something simple for a busy time of year!

What else did I use?
STAMPS: Bloom & Grow (Verve), Artful Elegance (Verve), Tiny Tags (PTI)
PAPER: Concord Crush (SU), Spring Moss and Kraft by PTI, White
INK: Old Olive, Concord Crush, Stazon Cotton White
ACCESSORIES: Glitter brad by Recollections, Flower & leaves dies by Verve, Martha Stewart deep edge Garden Gate punch, Concord Crush ribbon (SU), Tiny Tag heart die by PTI, Oval Nesties.

It's Ketchup Time

No...there's no picnic on the agenda - lol! I am playing "catch up" with the Viva la Verve challenges in the Verve forum and have been anxious to play with Amber's GREAT sketch from last week. I still love all the Stella & Rose papers by My Mind's Eye...all 4 pads have the loveliest papers! This is from the Mabel line. This is also for the Free 4 All challenge on SCS to use mini flowers on a card. That was an easy choice for me to pull out my mini rose dies and roll away! TGIF and I'm off work today!

STAMPS: Big Wish (sentiment), Bloom & Grow (leaves) - both by Verve.
PAPER: Bella & Rose Mabel papers by MME, Vintage Cream, Terracotta Tile (PTI).
ACCESSORIES: Mini rolled roses Die-namics (MFT), Leaf die (Verve), Kaiser pearls

Raise the Bar is BAAACK!

After a summer break, the bar tenders at Raise the Bar are back with their weekly challenges! Joni says "anything goes" this week, so that makes it easy peasy! I inked up a sweet, new (to me) image by Lili of the Valley and colored it with Copics. I used Karen Giron's layout for her Sweet Sunday Sketch Challenge...an easy one that I tweaked a bit by flipping the trio of buttons to the opposite side plus I added an oval sentiment for balance. TGIF and thanks for stopping by and commenting!

STAMPS: Lili of the Valley
PAPER: For the Record by Echo Park, Black, White
INK: Memento Tuxedo Black
ACCESSORIES: Satin ribbon, Buttons, Copics, Oval punches by SU.

Spotlighting Kraft

The Ways to Use It challenge on SCS is to love your kraft! I decided to stamp Cotton White Stazon ink using a scrollwork border image. The leaves are a leafy flourish Die-namic cut from DP in My Mind's Eye Photo Mat Pink stack. A couple of kraft hearts, some black pearls, a floral lace border & a layered die cut sentiment tag finish off this CAS card.
Here's what else I used:
STAMPS: Artful Elegance (scrollwork BG), Text Objects (hearts), Small Phrases - all by Verve.
ACCESSORIES: Corner chomper, Leafy flourish Die-namic (MFT), Black pears, Tag dies by Verve, Floral lace border.
