Color Throwdown #686

Another Wednesday means another Color Throwdown challenge is up and running! This week, Lisa is hosting and has chosen purple, sage green and cream for our colors. I love the Into the Bloom die series at Papertrey Ink and decided to feature the pansies on my card!

I wanted to use the new Berry Branches stencil set for the background in soft colors using Milled Lavender and Bundled Sage distress inks. The berries were stamped using the same color though it looks darker with the highlight step. Branches were stamped with Classic Kraft dye ink. I layered the Picket Fence die which was sponged with some Fine Linen dye ink.

Instead of grounding the pansies with a pot or other ground cover, I wanted to have it look like they were peeking through the fence while growing on the back side. I colored them with three shades of purple: Shaded Lilac, Dusty Concord and Milled Lavender. The leaves were a mix of Bundled Sage and Shabby Shutters distress inks and the flower center was Mustard Seed. Splatters were added with Dusty Concord.

STAMPS: Effortless Beauties (Papertrey Ink).
INK: Dusty Concord, Shaded Lilac, Milled Lavender, Bindled Sage, Shabby Shutters, Mustard Seed distress inks; Fine Linen, True Black dye inks by PTI.
PAPER: Vintage Cream (PTI), Bristol Smooth Surface (Strathmore).
DIES: Picket Fence, Into the Blooms: Pansies, Effortless Beauties (Papertrey Ink).
OTHER: Berry Branches stencils (PTI).

We would love to have you play along with us at Color Throwdown! Happy stamping!  ~Wanda
