Check out these sweet colors brought to you by the fabulous Vickie for the Color Throwdown Challenge! Isn't that dress so gorgeous? Of course, it was calling out for me to do a floral card...my favorite! The colors were also very close to the newest distress inks that were released in January and February - Cracked Pistachio and Abandoned Coral. Tim Holtz is releasing a new color every month this year and I've been itching to use them!
I used a Copic marker - BG23 - to highlight a few of the leaves then water colored some Squeezed Lemonade ink around the image and added some dew drops. Remember those from many years ago when they were all the rage? My MISTI was so handy for perfect placement of the flowers (have I said how much I can't do without this new tool?!). The patterned paper is from the mini deck "DeLovely" 6x6 pad by Cosmo Cricket.
As many of you know, you can follow The Color Throwdown on
Facebook and get sneak peeks of the color swatches each week! But now you can also follow us on Instagram, and get those sneak peeks, too! Be sure to search for us... colorthrowdown... and follow! And when you post your CTD creations, be sure to use the hashtags #colorthrowdown and #ctd___ (insert the challenge number) so all the creations can be seen in one place! Pretty card, Wanda! You remind me that I have that Wplus9 set, and it's being sadly neglected!
ReplyDeleteGorgeous!! I have the new distress inks too but, haven't tried them out yet....along with the MISTI that's been in my craft room for several weeks....soo bad!!
ReplyDeleteThis is such a lovely card! The colour, the LO, all the wonderful details you've added, and a beautiful sentiment to boot!
ReplyDeleteSo pretty! Love those colors... can't wait to get some of Tim's new colors myself. The color wash background looks wonderful.
ReplyDeleteI just LOVE every single thing about this! The stamps, the tilted panel...it's awesome!
ReplyDeleteThis is beautiful! Like Tammy, I have this set and haven't used it in way too long. Love how you added the soft yellow watercolor background to the image panel.
