Color Throwdown

Are you ready for some awesome colors for this week's Color Throwdown Challenge? Check out Joan's fabulous inspiration photo with the absolute "WOW" design in the wall backdrop! The light and dark greens, orange and white are such a refreshing color combo and I couldn't resist playing with these WPlus9 florals again while it was snowing like crazy outdoors!

I started with sponging 2 shades of green using a leafy stencil on some Neenah Solar White CS.  I then circled some black thread on the base and glued the flowers and leaves over it.  Two of the flowers were popped up with foam tape.  The leaves weren't
defined enough with the 2 inks, so I took 2 Copic markers (G82 and G85) and lightly added some highlights. In hind sight, I wish I had stenciled a different pattern other than leaves.  I really need to get out of the jungle with my backgrounds - lol!  I then splattered some Heidi Swapp Gold Color shine over the panel. I used Leigh Penner's sketch for CAS(E) This Sketch #110.

Congratulations to our guest star stamper this week - Amy White of White House Stamping!

  5. Wanda, thanks for your visit & kind comment. Popped over to take a closer look at your card, and just became your newest follower. See that you are in VA, I'm in Upstate SC. Cold tonight. I love how you've tucked the black thread under the posies and over the leaf, and this is a nifty design. Great use of the challenge colors, and so much warmer than the white stuff we've had lately. Stay warm, and TFS.
