Sew...I hope everyone is ready for this month's new release at Our Daily Bread Designs! We're keeping you in stitches with lots of sewing and quilting themed projects. As a pun lover, I could get carried away with this theme, but I'll try to contain myself for now! Don't want to keep you on pins and needles, so will tell you all about the chance to win some gift certificates for new goodies! :-)
Three winners will be randomly chosen from the comments left on the designers' blogs to receive a $15 Gift Certificate to the ODBD store, to be used toward the purchase of ODBD stamps found in the "stamps column" of the website. You have until September 2, 2014 at 9:00 p.m. EDT to leave your comments! The winners will be posted on the ODBD blog on September 3rd, so be sure to check back there to see if you won!
For my first project, I punched out 16 one inch squares then paper pieced them over grid paper to form this quilted star pattern for my card background. I had 8 of the coral color and 4 each of two different designer papers from the new Soulful Stitches Collection. Aren't those peach and sage green colors so heavenly?! I then ran it through my Big Shot and embossed it to give it the illusion of fabric. Then came the fun part! Creating a little sewing collage with embellishments that I've been hoarding for that perfect time. When Kelley shared what was in the new release, I was so thrilled I could finally use some of them! The sentiment is from the Quilts stamp set in the new release.
For my second project, I again went with a quilted background look - this time with a star burst
pattern - to highlight this great sentiment. Love the fonts! I cut a rectangle (4" x 1 1/2") from 4 different patterned papers, than cut each one diagonally to form the elongated triangles. I adhered them to grid paper starting with the two center triangles. Looks difficult, but is very easy to do!
There are more release goodies that you don't want to miss, so be sure and check out all of the other designers' blogs! You can visit via the ODBD blog or you can click on their blog links below:
