This is my second post for this new year's day (scroll on down to see the Color Throwdown challenge post)! It's an especially exciting day for me because I get to announce that I'm now a member of the Alumni Team at Our Daily Bread Designs! I did a guest designer stint for a couple of months one year ago, and am happy to rejoin the talented gals at ODBD! Kelley has a great new release this month and I'm thrilled to bring you a couple of creations using the new "Lavender" set.
I added color to the lavender image by coloring it with two Tombow markers (623, 126), huffing on it, then stamping on white CS. I paper pieced the Labels Twenty Three Nestabilities die and added a narrow strip of black glitter tape to the seam. The sentiment makes this a perfect card to give with the lavender perfumed soap which you can partially see in this photo.
My second card is very clean and simple and uses two current trendy elements - washi tape and sequins. There are some really fun dies in this release and I'm using one of the two Apothecary Bottles dies in this design - popped up with foam tape. The bottle label is also from the Lavender set.
To create the look of cork, I stippled on two shades of light brown Copic markers. My photo doesn't show the shimmer of the silver Wink of Stella glitter brush marker used on the ribbon on the bottle's label but, IRL it has a bit of sparkle. I sponged the edges of the jar with Lavender Lace ink and finished it off with jute twine.
