Awesome New Paper!
Gotta tell you about the SMOOTHEST paper and best ever to blend Copic markers! It's called X-Press It Blending Card and I recently ordered a pack from Stamper's Dream...and it's dreamy CS! OK, on with my card...
Our Creative Corner Challenge this week was to create a card with an attitude of gratitude - and not necessarily a Thanksgiving card. I'm so thankful I made the decision to become a nurse all those many years ago (if you must know...I graduated with a BS in nursing in 1974, so guess that pretty much tells my age - LOL). Yes, there have been frustrations, but I have the most wonderful co-workers in Student Health (at a comprehensive rehabilitation center) where I work in a clinic serving a daily census of over 300 students...all with some form of disability. When I first graduated, nurses only wore white! Thank goodness that has changed! So that's why this Pure Innocence image is wearing colorful scrubs! :-) Again, I used Laura Pryor's sentiment flag - love it a lot! This card also qualifies for a new challenge (at least to me it's new) and that's for Raise the Bar Challenge to use curves. There are curves in my Nestie and curves in my scalloped border and I guess Miss Florence (referencing Nightingale) has some minimal curves - lol! Have a great day...it's a good day for it!
STAMPS: Best Medicine (Pure Innocence for MFT), Sentiment Flags (Lil' Inker Designs)
PAPER: The Thrift Shop (October Afternoon), Vintage Cream, X-Press It Blending Card
INK: Memento Tuxedo Black, Tim Holtz Antique Linen distress ink, Memento Rich Cocoa
ACCESSORIES: CB, Labels Eleven Nesties, Satin ribbon, Vintage button, Rhinestones, EK Success large scallop border punch, Sponge,
Super cute design Wanda and I love The paper-piecing. I have been curious about the new X-Press It paper and I think you just talked me into it!

Okay... I think "they" have cut me off at work - dang, did it on my break time but, anyway!! You know I understand the nursing and yes, there are frustrations but, so many times when you connect with patients and help and that it is wonderful!! I am thinking you were in the days of wearing a hat or maybe a more forward thinking program!! I'm not sure if they even get them now??? I originally was a diploma nurse {went back and got my BS~ a degree!! LOL!!} and we even had a ceremony for stripes on our caps~~ unbelievable!!
ReplyDeleteAdorabale card!! Also, the poinsettia is gorgeous coloring and the gold embossing sets it off!! The card you did with the "new" technique and stamped the snowflakes over is gorgeous too!!
Oh my goodness, this is adorable! Thanks so much for joining us over at Raise the Bar this week.
ReplyDeleteGlad you like the XP-IT... I haven't ever used anything else so can't compare... love what you did with this little image, so sweet!
