Color Throwdown #736

Hi crafty friends! It's time for a new  Color Throwdown challenge and this week we have yellow, sage green and gray. I purged some inks awhile back and apparently got rid of a sage ink pad that I now wish I had. Does that ever happen to you? :-( I had to make do with what I had.

The online class - Stenciled 2 - was a great series of videos and I picked up so many new tips through the different presenters. This card is one that showcases the Berry Branches stencil from Papertrey Ink with adding some glitter paste over one of the berry steps.

I incorporated the gray color with stenciling some random small dots using Pinkfresh Studio's Rocky Slope ink. Sadly, the photographs do not show the sparkle well at all.

STAMPS: Perfect Pairs Essentials (Papertrey Ink).
INK: Lemon Tart, Bright Buttercup, Gentle Moss, Simply Chartreuse, Aqua Mist (PTI); Rocky Slope (Pinkfresh Studio); Versafine Clair Nocturne.
PAPER: Bristol Smooth Surface; White, True Black.
DIES: Perfect Pairs Essentials (PTI); Stitched Rectangle STAX Die-Namics (My Favorite Things).
OTHER: Berry Branches, Small Dots stencils (PTI); Glitter Paste (Recollections); White embossing powder (Altenew).

We'd love to have you join us in the challenge. Hope to see you in the gallery!  ~Wanda

PTI Reveal Day #4

It's the last day of reveals for the March release at Papertrey Ink and some of my favorites are being presented. Today, we are introducing you to Larger Than Life: Mom die + Larger Than Life: Mom Sentiments stamps + Into the Blooms: Gerber Daisies + Confetti Circle Hots Foil Plate + Psalm Reflections: March stamp and dies + Cornered: Doily dies.

This card features the new Confetti Circle Not Foil Plate. I mistakenly labeled this mom die incorrectly, so I don't have the correct die paired with the foiled circle. The sentiment banner is from the correct set.

STAMPS: Delightful Mini Blooms, Larger Than Life: Mom Sentiments.
INK: Uncharted Mariner distress ink; Limeade Ice, Simply Chartreuse, Ripe Avocado, Lilac Grace, Amethyst Allure, Summer Sunrise, Lovely Lady.
PAPER: Textured Pacific Point; Glitter plaid; SB Glimmer Specialaty; Bristol Smooth Surface.
DIES: Larger Than Life: Mom.
OTHER: Cobalt Blue foil; Confetti Circle hot foil plate; Blueprints 27 die.

I used distress spray stains for the flowers and leaves which gives very intense coloring.

This large "mom" die makes an awesome focal point!

STAMPS: Larger Than Life: Mom Sentiments.
INK: Distress spray stains; Versafine Clair Nocturne.
PAPER: Bitty Big: Harvest Gold, Bitty Big: True Black, White; Bristol Smooth Surface.
DIES: Into the Blooms: Gerber Daisies, My Mom, Border Bling: Tin Stitch.
OTHER: Moonshine sequins; Stitched rectangle dies.

Lastly is a card using the newest Psalm stamp.

I created the background using Cracked Pistachio and   distress inks. The doily corner dies are a great detail.

I love that this set has a "joy" die so you can choose to emphasize it with a different color.

STAMPS: Psalm Reflections March.
INK: Mint, Aquamarine, Sparkling Rose; Sweet Blush.
PAPER: Gray Graniet; Lovely Lady; Vellum; Watercolor.
DIES: Cornered: Doily, Into the Blooms: Fun Flowers, Skinny Frames: Diagonal Border, Psalm Reflections March.
OTHER: Master Layouts 08.

PTI Reveal Day #3

Hi everyone! It's day three of reveals for the March release at Papertrey Ink. Today, we are introducing you to Tuck It Sentiments stamps + Tuck It dies + Wildflowers Fields stamps and dies + Delightful Mini Blooms stamps and dies + My Mom dies + Stitch Crochet Stencils

My first card starts with the stenciled background which has two coordinating stencils in a large "stitch" and a small "stitch" design. This one uses the large size.

I love the large variety of wildflower elements which lets you create so many different bouquets! I die cut the "tuck it" scalloped option onto a circle die and added jute twine to ground it all.

I added some highlights with a white gel pen.

STAMPS: Tuck It Sentiments, Wildflower Fields.
INK: Aqua Mist, Mint Julep, Amethyst Allure, Lilac Grace, Harvest Gold, Bright Buttercup, Pale Peony, Berry Sorbet, Hibiscus Burst, Autumn Rose, Limeade Ice, Green Parakeet, New Leaf, Ocean Tides, Simply Chartreuse, Ripe Avocado, Hawaiian Shores; Versafine Clair Nocturne.

PAPER: Bristol Smooth Surface
DIES: Tuck It Sentiments, Wildflower Fields, Love to Layer: Circles.
OTHER: Stitch Crochet Large stencils; Jute twine: Stitched rectangle die.

My next card highlights the mini blooms which I turned into a wreath using a wreath builder template. I need to confess I mistakenly labeled the two different "mom" dies in this release and am a day early with featuring this version. :-(

I like to use at least 2 or 3 layers with word dies to give added dimension and sturdiness. I offset the 3rd layer with a darker purple to make it "pop" more.

STAMPS: Delightful Mini Blooms, Larger Than Life: Mom Sentiments.
INK: Versafine Clair Nocturne; Lilac Grace, Amethyst Allure, Pale Peony, Berry Sorbet, Bright Buttercup, Summer Sunrise, Aqua Mist, Hawaiian Shores, Limeade Ice, New Leaf, Ocean Tides.
PAPER: Bitty Big: Lilac Grace, Soft Stone, White, Lilac Grace, Amethyst Allure.
DIES: Border Bling: Tin Stitch, Larger Than Life: Mom.
OTHER: Dew drops; Staples; Stitched rectangle dies; Wreath Builder template.

My last card again uses the wildflowers which are tucked into the largest of the Love to Layer: Hearts dies. Melissa Philllips was the inspiration for this idea when she created a beautiful nosegay using the heart awhile back. The background was color blended with distress inks in yellow, green and pink then was stenciled with one of the stencils from the Stationery Kit. I layered two of the skinny heart frames to give it more stability.

STAMPS: Wildflower Fields.
INK: Squeezed Lemonade, Twisted Citron, Picked Raspberry distress inks: Versafine Clair Nocturne; Green Parakeet, Harvest Gold, Classic Kraft, Amethyst Allure, Pale Peony, Berry Sorbet, Autumn Rose, Ripe Avocado, Simply Chartreuse, Limeade Ice, New Leaf.
PAPER: Bristol Smooth Surface; Lovely Lady; Patterned paper.
DIES: Love to Layer: Hearts, Border Bling: Skinny Hearts Frames, Wildflower Fields.
OTHER: Jute twine, Charm; Stationery Kit stencil.

PTI Reveal Day #2

Welcome back to day #2 of the March reveals at Papertrey Ink! Today, we are introducing you to Beauty in Motion stamps and dies + Cover Plate: Fanciful Flower dies + Just Sentiments: Family stamps + Bright Future stamps and dies.

Check out the gorgeous new floral die and the beautiful floral stamps that give you the illusion of motion!

Yellows paired with Hawaiian Shores is always a favorite color combo for me. Some jute twine and raindrop embellishments were the finishing touches.

STAMPS: Beauty in Motion, Just Sentiments: Family.
INK:
Harvest Gold, Summer Sunrise; Versafine Clair Nocturne.
PAPER
: Bristol Smooth Surface; Hawaiian Shores, White.
DIES: Beauty in Motion, Cover Plate: Fanciful Flowers.
OTHER
: Twine; Dewdrops; Sentiment Suite Basics die.

Next, I have two projects for the graduate in your life.

I started by hot foiling a starry background using silver foil on Dark Indigo paper. The metallic silver mat and the silver cording echo the foil color.
I cut the floral frame in half on the diagonal and have it peeking out behind the dark blue star panel. This stamp set has 5 years included up to 2027!

STAMPS: Bright Future.
INK: Dark Indigo, Harvest Gold.
PAPER: White, Dark Indigo, Harvest Gold; Silver Shine.
DIES: Bright Future.
OTHER: Stargazing hot foil plate, Silver foil, Silver cording, Stitched rectangle die, Banner flag die, Moonshine sequins, Enamel dot.

TIPS
1. Add a metallic silver mat layer and a looped silver cord to echo the silver foiled star panel.
2. Pop up the sentiment with foam tape to add dimension.
3. Moonshine sequins and an enamel dot on the cap give added interest and shine.

Lastly...here is a money envelope card in a mini slimline size.

I included the diploma from the previously released Congratulations Graduate set. I love when new works with old! The stars are dies from My Favorite Things and the card layers are from the Mini Slimline die set by Pinkfresh Studio.

I chose Scarlet Jewel ink and paper since our local high school has burgundy for their school color.
I used very narrow score tape (1/8") to secure the envelope sides.

STAMPS: Bright Future, Congratulations Graduate.
INK: Scarlet Jewel, Harvest Gold; Versafine Clair Nocturne.
PAPER: Black, White, Scarlet Jewel, Metallic gold.
DIES: Bright Future, Congratulations Graduate.
OTHER: Mini slimline and stars dies; Black enamel dot; Twine.
