Time to Celebrate

It's New Year's Eve and I found some time to get crafty yesterday. I needed a birthday card for my brother so I went to my go-to cover plate die from Papertrey Ink. I already had the background in my leftover pile (Peacock Feathers and Twisted Citron distress inks "smooshed" onto the rough side of Ranger watercolor paper then stenciled a script background pattern).

I die cut the cover plate and stamped the sentiment and die cut using the Banner Builder die set. I embellished with some punched stars and moonshine sequins.

STAMPS: Message in a Bottle (Papertrey Ink).
INK: True Black (PTI); Peacock Feathers, Twisted Citron distress ink.
PAPER: Watercolor (Ranger); White, Limeade Ice (PTI).
DIES: Cover Plate: Birthday, Banner Builders: Basics (PTI).
OTHER: Moonshine sequins.

Happy new year to all of you reading this post! May it be a blessed year in many ways!  ~Wanda

Winter Globe

The Winter Globes die set from Papertrey Ink has finally been initiated! Holiday busy times did not allow time to play much in the craft room but this week is much more free for me. I was inspired by a card created by Kelly Lunceford where she added a house and pine trees from the Bring Home the Holidays set.

I used white foil on navy paper for the card base. The sentiment has 3 layers (2 white and a glittery silver top). The pinecone, pine boughs and berries are from Into the Blooms: Pine die set. Accents were added to the bird and berries with a white gel pen.

STAMPS: None.
INK: Harvest Gold, Cocoa Bean, Simply Chartreuse (PTI).
PAPER: Enchanted Evening, Spring Rain, Blueberry Sky, Pure Poppy, White, Green Parakeet (PTI); Silver glitter CS.
DIES: Winter Globes, Bring Home the Holidays, Into the Blooms: Pine (PTI); Stitched Rectangle STAX Die-Namics (My Favorite Things).
OTHER: Distress Rock Candy glitter.

PTI Release Day

Another beautiful release is happening today at Papertrey Ink! Items will be available for purchase tonight at 10pm ET. I created another card using the Vase Collection 14 stamp/die set and Lots of Hugs stamps/dies. The heart embellishments were punched from some leftover paper that was hot foiled with silver foil over gold paper.

I love the colors in the patterned paper from PTI called Watercolor Wonder and pulled from those colors when I stamped the flowers, vase and sentiment.

PTI Release Day #4

Can you believe we are already on day four...the last of the reveal days at Papertrey Ink?! Today, we are introducing you to Lots of Hugs stamps and dies + Happy Hearts stencils + Mercury Glass Hot Foil Plate + Vase Collection 14 stamps and dies + Inside Greetings: Celebration stamps.

I combined all of the above items in this one card. I may spread it out more next time - haha!

I started with stenciling the base using the new Happy Hearts stencil. This is such a fun one to create amazing backgrounds! I used gold foil over matte metallic silver card stock to create the mercury glass panel. I might add that all the shine was hard to photograph well.
I added jute twine to the vase for a rustic touch. I love the new hugs sentiment set with varying fonts and matching dies...so much versatility and who doesn't enjoy receiving a hug...even on paper?!

STAMPS: Lots of Hugs, Vase Collection 14, Inside Greetings: Celebration
INK: Twisted Citron, Salvaged Patina, Peacock Feathers, Brushed Corduroy, Gathered Twigs, Spun Sugar, Worn Lipstick distress inks; Dark Chocolate, Hawaiian Shores

PTI Release Day #3

Hi everyone! We're on day #3 of reveals for the December release at Papertrey Ink. Today, we are introducing you to Fancy Floral Numbers stamps and dies + Delicate Circles Hot Foil Plate + Just Sentiments: Celebration stamps + All You Need is Love stamps and dies.

I debated between a new years card or a birthday card and decided it would be smarter to build up my birthday card stash. These numbers are so elegant and fun and will have you covered for almost any occasion that will arise!
The new Delicate Circles hot foil plate is a really versatile pattern and will be a "go to" plate for many occasions. I layered the number over a glitter paper  then embellished with these tiny flowers from an old die set called Tag Creations: Joyful Jars.

Below is the inside of the card.
STAMPS
: Fancy Floral Numbers, Just Sentiments: Celebration
INK: Versamark, Versafine Clair Nocturne
PAPER: Glimmer Specialty cardstock, Bristol Smooth Surface, Hot pink glitter card stock, Sweet blush, Hibiscus Burst, Raspberry Fizz, Green Parakeet, New Leaf
DIES: Fancy Floral Numbers, Love to Layer: Ovals, Tag Creations: Joyful Jars
OTHER: Spellbinders Bright Pink foil; Zig watercolor markers; Gold embossing powder; Stitched rectangle die

I started with layering a couple of frames then angled the envelope and filled it up with lots of the fun elements in the All You Need is Love set. I used a subtle patterned paper for the background.

It adds visual interest if you pop up some of the flowers or hearts. I also use a lot of moonshine sequins to embellish cards and I like to group them in uneven numbers (usually 3).

STAMPS: All You Need is Love
INK: Sweet Blush, Pale Peony, Berry Sorbet, Green Parakeet, New Leaf, Summer Sunrise, True Black
PAPER: Bitty Big: Sweet Blush, Weathervane, Sweet Blush, White, Soft Stone
DIES: All You Need is Love, Border Bling: SKinny Heart Frames, Border Bling: Postage Frames
OTHER: Moonshine sequins

Next is a mini slimline card which works to showcase the whimsical flowers with a couple of the sentiment stems.

Again, I used the A Little Sketchy stencil on the background and popped up several of the flowers.
The dotted swirls are also another sweet detail in this set along with the scalloped border. Adding enamel dots to some of the flower centers also adds dimension and pop of color.

STAMPS: All You Need is Love
INK: Harvest Gold, Pure Poppy, Scarlet Jewel, Raspberry Fizz, Lovely Lady, True Black, New Leaf, Green Parakeet, weathervane
PAPER: White, True Black
DIES: All You Need is Love
OTHER: A Little Sketchy stencil; Mini Slimline Essential Bundle; Black enamel dots

PTI Reveal Day #2

Hi everyone! Welcome back to the second day of reveals of the December release at Papertrey Ink! Today, we are introducing you to Love is Everywhere stamps and dies + Into the Blooms: Fun Flowers dies + Larger Than Life: Love dies + Larger Than Life: Love Sentiments stamps. It's a long post today, so hang in there!

I totally love all five pots/planters in the darling set!  The tiny sentiments work perfectly if you choose to add them to the pots.

I went with traditional colors on this card and used a simple layout.

STAMPS: Love is Everywhere
INK: rocky Slope, Licorice, Emerald City, Grassy Knoll, Olive, Key Lime, Berrylicious, Sparkling Rose, Bubble Gum, Raspberry Bliss
PAPER
: Pure Poppy, White, True Black; BoBunny "Crush" 6x6 patterned paper
DIES: Love is Everywhere, Love to Layer: Ovals, Border Bling: Skinny heart Frames
OTHER: Moonshine sequins

I adore the new addition to the Into the Blooms series and the name says it all: Fun Flowers!

A favorite floral color combo is pairing yellow with navy. I used this awesome new stencil called A Little Sketchy which adds such a great detail! The card is a mini slimline size.

Flowers and leaves were colored with blending brushes, dye inks and Bristol Smooth Surface paper.

STAMPS: Larger Than Life: Love Sentiments; Tiers of Cheer: Valentine; Vase Collection II
INK: Lemon Tart, Bright Buttercup, Harvest Gold, Summer Sunrise, Dark Indigo, Soft Stone, Grassy Knoll, Key Lime, Olive; Versamark
PAPER: Dark Indigo, Soft Stone, True Black; Bristol Smooth Surface
DIES: Into the Blooms: Fun Flowers, Vase Collection II, Border Bling: DIamonds; Mini Slimline Essential Bundle, Blueprints 27
OTHER: White & Gold embossing powders; A Little Sketchy stencil

I couldn't stop with just one card using a fave new sentiment die. I first created a more masculine card using strips of paper in the background. I double die cut with black card stock to create a shadow effect behind the gold sentiment layer.

Easy peasy and a good way to use up scraps with cutting them into strips!

STAMPS: Larger Than Life: Love Sentiments
INK: Versamark
PAPER: Pool (Foiled Fox); Hawaiian Shores, Tropical Teal, Limeade Ice, Simply Chartreuse, True Black, White; Metallic gold
DIES: Larger Than Life: LOve; Master Layouts 08, Blueprints 27
OTHER: White embossing powder.

This version uses more classic Valentine colors and centers around a collage of elements paired with a banner. These new heart dies have amazing details which are different on each heart!

I rarely use my old embossing folders but thought this one would be a great fit for the background.

STAMPS: Larger Than Life: Love Sentiments
INK: Versafine Clair Nocturne
PAPER: BoBunny "Crush" 6x6 pad; White, True Black; Silver glitter
DIES: Love to Layer: Hearts, Larger Than Life: Love
