With Sympathy

It seems I am needing far too many sympathy cards lately, so once again...I brought out this sentiment from Ink to Paper's Wild Fields set. I don't know about you, but I have loads of patterned paper and thought I'd use some up with this card.

It's a busy week with planning for Easter weekend and getting cards in the mail today! This Lush Bloom stamp set is so simple to layer up so it fit the clean, easy style I was aiming for. I cut out 3 button dies from black cardstock and adhered them together and added thread. It's more mailing friendly than a real button!

STAMPS: Lush Bloom, Wild Fields (Ink to Paper).

PAPER: Classique: Pretty 6x6 pad by Authentique; White by Ink to Paper.

INK: Sweet Blush, Hibiscus Burst, Autumn Rose, Aqua Mist, Mint Julep, Ocean Tides, True Black dye inks by Ink to Paper.

DIES: Border Bling: Postage, Pierced Feature Frames, Lush Bloom (Ink to Paper); Blueprints 27 and Buttons Die-Namics by My Favorite Things.

I'll be running errands today since tomorrow looks like lots more rain then colder (only up to 41) on Thursday. Enjoy your day!  ~Wanda

Freshly Made Sketches

Good Saturday everyone! I completed this card yesterday for the Freshly Made Sketches challenge. Jen T. has a wonderful "wide open" layout that allows for many possibilities! I've had this patterned paper from Papertrey Ink for quite some time and decided it would work with this little Feathered Friend Mini 3 bird that has been an "extra" from a previous project.

The pitcher was also on my leftover pile so all I needed to do was come up with some new branches and a few florals. Some Aqua Mist satin ribbon and black twine were the finishing touches. I probably send more birthday cards than any other kind and this will help to replenish my depleted supply.

STAMPS: Feathered Friends Mini 3, Sprigs and Sprays, Abundant Blooms (Ink to Paper).

PAPER: Text-Style: Everyday Blessings, White (Ink to Paper).

INK: Limeade Ice, Simply Chartreuse, Ocean Tides, Aqua Mist, Hawaiian Shores, Lemon Tart, Orange Zest, Cocoa Bean, True Black, Spring Moss, Soft Stone, Smokey Shadow (Ink to Paper).

DIES: Feathered Friends Mini 3, Abundant Blooms, Sprigs and Sprays (Ink to Paper); Stitched Fishtail Flags STAX Die-Namics (My Favorite Things).

OTHER: Aqua Mist satin ribbon, Black twine.

It's a day of watching two of our grand kids (ages 4 and 6), so there will never be a dull moment! :-)  Enjoy your day!  ~Wanda

TGIF

It's Friday and it's also hard to believe we are only a week away from Easter! I finally got to ink up this new wreath stamp/stencil/die combo from The Greetery to finish up my Easter stash...I think. I also got inspiration from the Simon Says Stamp
Wednesday challenge where they have a gorgeous spring/Easter mood board to get your mojo going . Lots of pinks/greens/yellows were my take on it!

I stenciled the background with Bright Buttercup ink and the Knit Wits stencil from The Greetery. The wreath was die cut then popped up with foam tape. The sentiment is a die from Ink to Paper which worked well I thought.

STAMPS: Floral Frame (The Greetery).

PAPER: White, True Black (Ink to Paper).

INK: Hibiscus Burst, Raspberry Fizz, Bright Buttercup, Gentle Moss, Simply Chartreuse, True Black (Ink to Paper).

DIES: He is Risen (Ink to Paper), Floral Frame (The Greetery).

That's all for now! Have a wonderful Friday and a great weekend as well!                                                                ~Wanda

Color Throwdown #635

Happy hump day everyone! Wednesday means there is a new Color Throwdown challenge and we have some bright happy colors this week! I love when I go to my leftover pile and find a smooshed background that fits the colors perfectly!

This balloon cover plate die from Ink to Paper makes it so easy to whip up a quick birthday card! I stenciled the two center balloons and the remaining balloons let the background show through the negative die spaces. Pop up a sentiment and it's all completed!

STAMPS: Simple Strips Background (Taylored Expressions).

DIES: Cover Plate: Big Balloon (Ink to Paper); Simple Strips (Taylored Expressions).

We would love to have you play along with us and you just might be chosen to be our next guest star stamper!               ~Wanda

Rejoice

Hello everyone! It was a cloudy and rainy Tuesday but I did get a little stamping time in my schedule. I'm behind with Easter cards, so I whipped this up quickly using the Risen set that was released last year by Ink to Paper. I gold embossed the sentiment on vellum then die cut it to cover the floral stamped cross. I love how the new Dainty Frame die echoes the pattern of the stamped florals. I chose to only have it appear embossed. The aqua scallop panel was popped with foam tape as was the cross.

STAMPS: Risen (Ink to Paper).

PAPER: Aqua Mist, White, Vellum (Ink to Paper).

INK: Sweet Blush, Pale Peony, Green Parakeet, Ocean Tides (Ink to Paper); Versamark.

DIES: Risen, Delicate Doilies, Mix and Mat: Scallop Die, Border Bling: Dainty Deliveries Frame (Ink to Paper).

See you back tomorrow when we bring you a new Color Throwdown challenge!                                                          ~Wanda

Hippity - Hoppity

Good Monday everyone! I found some time to ink up some new things from The Greetery last week. I thought this bunny wreath was so adorable and knew I wanted it for Easter cards for the grands! The nice thing is that it's versatile for creating baby cards as well.

I kept the designs very simple and popped the wreath with foam tape and layered over an open frame. The base cards are white card stock that was color blended with Squeezed Lemonade and Tumbled Glass distress oxide inks.

I used dye inks from Ink to Paper to stamp all the images and - OOPS - I forgot to write down the colors! Sorry about that.

STAMPS: Bunny Hop (The Greetery).

DIES: Bunny Hop (The Greetery); Skinny Frames: Diagonal Border (Ink to Paper).

Have a wonderful day and a great week!          ~Wanda

Release Day is Here!

Tonight at 10 PM EST, the new release at Ink to Paper will go live. I wanted to create another card using this gorgeous new butterfly from the Flying By stamp set. This time I only used the outline image and white embossed it over a base panel which I water colored using Mijello Mission Gold paints. These paints have very vibrant colors and I got my inspiration from Kristina Werner's Underpainting Watercolor tutorial seen HERE.

I sponged the edges of the Tropical Teal and Limeade Ice panels (cut with the Torn Edges dies) with Classic Kraft ink. The white card base was embossed using my favorite Border Bling: Tin Stitch die.

STAMPS: Flying By (Ink to Paper).

INK: True Black, Classic Kraft (Ink to Paper); Versamark.

PAPER: Tropical Teal, Limeade Ice, White (Ink to Paper); Water color paper by Ranger.

DIES: Flying By, Love to Layer: Torn Edges, Border Bling: Tin Stitch (Ink to Paper).

OTHER: Pure White embossing powder by Altenew.

Have a wonderful weekend! It's a day keeping two of our grands today, so it will be a fun time.       ~Wanda

Day 4 March Reveal at Ink to Paper

It's the last day of reveals for the March release at Ink to Paper! Products will be available to buy tomorrow evening at 10 PM EST, so get that shopping list ready! Today, we are introducing Just Sentiments: Milestones II stamps + Feathered Friends Mini 9 stamp set and dies + To Die For Sentiments: Mother die + Feathered Friends 9 die + Inside Greetings: Appreciation stamps.

My first card is very clean and simple with the patterned papers doing most of the work. It features the new Feathered Friends Mini 9 set with a sentiment from the Just Sentiments: Milestones II set.

STAMPS: Feathered Friends Mini 9, Just Sentiments: Milestones II
INK: True Black, Smokey Shadow, Weathervane, Soft Stone, Pure Poppy, Classic Kraft
PAPER: Gingham Farm 6x6 pad by My Mind's Eye, White, Pure Poppy
DIES: Feathered Friends Mini 9, Love to Layer: Scalloped Circle

This is such a lovely sentiment focal point which I die cut twice from Hibiscus Burst card stock. I layered it over a vellum covered background stamped with the Enchanting Roses stamp and Weathervane ink.

STAMPS: Enchanting Roses
INK: Weathervane, Green Parakeet, Ocean Tides, New Leaf, Sweet Blush, Pale Peony, Hibiscus Burst
PAPER: Weathervane, Hibiscus Burst, White, Vellum
DIES: Enchanting Roses, To Die For Sentiments: Mother, Love to Layer: Torn Edges
OTHER: Twine

TIPS:
1. Layer vellum over a stamped background to soften the look and to allow the sentiment die be a more prominent focal point.
2. Sponge the edges of the torn edges die to add some depth.
3. Layer at least 2 or 3 sentiment die cuts to give it more texture and to make it easier to adhere to your card.

Meet the new Feathered Friends 9 die set! He's a beauty and so easy to put together! I have lots of textures in my layers and it's one of my faves from this release.

STAMPS: Inside Greetings: Appreciation, Blossoming Branches
INK: True Black, Spring Rain, Blue Sky, Green Parakeet, New Leaf, Lemon Tart, Harvest Gold, Weathervane, Dark Chocolate, Honey Nut, Canyon Clay
PAPER: Classic Kraft, FIne Linen, Weathervane, White
DIES: Feathered Friends 9, Blossoming Branches, Border Bling: Tin Stitch, Woodwork, Border Bling: Twigs

TIPS:
1. Cut all the parts of the bird die from white card stock then color blend with inks.
2. Add texture with woodwork and tin stitch dies.
3. Add visual interest by "popping" the bird and flowers with foam tape.

I wanted to pair one of the inside greeting sentiments with the Enchanting Roses...this time in yellow.

STAMPS: Enchanting Roses, Just Sentiments: Appreciation
INK: Lemon Tart, Bright Buttercup, Harvest Gold, Summer Sunrise, Green Parakeet, New Leaf, Ocean Tides, Pinefeather, True Black
PAPER: Bitty Big: True Black, Bright Buttercup, White
DIES: Enchanting Roses, Delicate Doilies, Stitched Rectangle

TIPS:
1. Choose four colors for the roses that blend well and mimic natural color variations you would see in roses in real life.
2. Add Nuvo Jewel Drops to the florals for more visual interest.
3. Round corners to soften a card's look.

It's that time again...time for a new Fusion Card Challenge!  I was primarily inspired by the pitcher of flowers and the bold striped runner in the photo, (though there is a hint of a tweaked sketch as well). What did I use?

PAPER: Flora pad by Recollections; White (Ink to Paper).

INK: Weathervane, Smokey Shadow, True Black, Green Parakeet, New Leaf, Lovely Lady, Hibiscus Burst.
