Freshly Made Sketches

The newest sketch for the Freshly Made Sketches challenge was one I couldn't pass up! It was perfect to get another Valentine card completed. I flipped the circle elements to opposite corners due to a botched spot with my embossing - haha.

I combined a pair of new shapely heart dies and the love sentiment with some earlier released florals from The Greetery. I white embossed the Nifty Plaid background stamp from Ink to Paper on kraft. The flower centers were highlighted with white and black gel pens.

STAMPS: Nifty Plaid (Ink to Paper); Hoop Wreath (The Greetery).

PAPER: Classic Kraft, White, Autumn Rose (Ink to Paper); Martha Stewart Holidays mat pad.

INK: New Leaf, Ocean Tides, Harvest Gold, Cocoa Bean, Honey Nut, Raspberry Fizz, Autumn Rose (Ink to Paper).

DIES: Hoop Wreath, Crimped Frames, Shapely Hearts, Let's Have a Word: Love (The Greetery).

That's it for now. Today is a busy day with appointments for a hair cut and color in the morning, then the first Pfizer Covid vaccine is scheduled later in the afternoon. Have a wonderful day!    ~Wanda

Color Throwdown Challenge #627

It's time again for a new Color Throwdown challenge and this week, Lori is our hostess. She was inspired to use pale pink, blue and gray based on the inspiration photo. It was a perfect color combo to play with my new dies from The Greetery!

The Heart Leaf Posy Pocket dies are so sweet and were perfect to pair with the Forget-Me-Nots. I colored the flowers using Prismacolor pencils and some ink blending. The eucalyptus is the only gray on the card and was the first time I inked it up after having it over a month. So many stamps...not enough time - lol!

I then used a script sentiment and postal markings from the Pretty Postmarks set released last year.

STAMPS: Pretty Postmarks, Petite Eucalyptus (The Greetery).

PAPER: White, Blueberry Sky (Ink to Paper).

INK: Sweet Blush, Spring Rain, Blueberry Sky, Soft Stone, Weathervane, Green Parakeet, Ocean Tides, True Black (Ink to Paper).

DIES: Postal Frames, Heart Leaf Posy Pocket, BotaniCuts Forget-Me-Nots, Petite Eucalyptus (The Greetery)

So...that's a wrap. We would love to have you play along with us this week.                          Happy stamping!     ~Wanda

Stock Your Stash

It's been awhile since I've played along with the Stock Your Stash challenge over on the Reverse Confetti blog, but I wanted to play with some newly released products I ordered. This month's theme is "Love is in the Air" and I'm needing to get my rear in gear and make some Valentine cards!
:-)

Not only did I fall in love with this sweet dog image, but the Big Love  and Outlined Frame Cover Panel are dies to die for!

I color blended the base panel with Picked Raspberry, Candied Apple and Spiced Marmalade distress oxide inks on Bristol Smooth Surface watercolor paper. The image was stamped with Memento Tuxedo Black ink on X-Press It Blending Card and colored with Copics. I added some Glossy Accents to the nose.

STAMPS: Love is in the Air (Reverse Confetti).

PAPER: Flamingo, Tangerine, Salsa (Reverse Confetti); X-Press It Blending Card.

INK: Picked Raspberry, Candies Apple, Spiced Marmalade distress oxide ink; True Black (Ink to Paper).

DIES: Big Love Confetti Cuts, Love is in the Air Confetti Cuts, Outlined Frame Cover Panel Confetti Cuts, Hearts Confetti Cuts; Stitched Rectangle STAX Die-Namics (My Favorite Things).

If you haven't checked out the latest release at Reverse Confetti, you really must!                               Happy stamping!     ~Wanda

Fusion Card Challenge: Flowers

It's time once again for a new Fusion Card Challenge and the inspiration photo has a great floral vignette plus there is a beautiful new sketch. You can do one or the other or do both for a fusion!

I decided to go with the inspiration photo only and was totally inspired by the coral/greenery colors in the arrangement.

I used the newly released Antique Wishes frame die and stamp set from Ink to Paper that includes the leaf images. Flowers are from the Big Balloon stamp/die set.

The frame was first stamped with the solid frame image using Sweet Blush ink. The wood highlights were then stamped with Pale Peony ink. I lightly sponged Mint Julep ink around the sentiment (from Just Sentiments: Together) and added the tiny rows of cross-stitching using Vintage Jadeite ink (from Beautiful Bouquet: Mother).

STAMPS: Antique Wishes, Big Balloon, Just Sentiments: Together, Beautiful Bouquet: Mother (Ink to Paper).

PAPER: White (Ink to Paper).

INK: True Black, Mint Julep, Vintage Jadeite, Aqua Mist, Ocean Tides, Tropical Teal, Sweet Blush, Pale Peony, Berry Sorbet (Ink to Paper).

DIES: Antique Wishes, Big Balloon

That's it for today. Hope to see you in the gallery!      ~Wanda

Release Day at Ink to Paper

Release day is finally here at Ink to Paper! Products will be available to buy at 10 PM EST. Hopefully you have had a chance to see all the projects from the design team. Remember...if there is something you really want, be ready at 10 PM since the popular items can sell out rather quickly.

Here is another card using the new Vintage Flair stamp/die set. It's a simple design and pretty self explanatory.

The sentiment was stamped in black twice using a MISTI, then I stamped with Versamark and embossed with clear powder on vellum. It gives a nice dimensional sheen with this extra step! The vellum was adhered to the card using two tiny glue dots behind the enamel dot embellishments.

STAMPS: Vintage Flair, Big Balloon Sentiment (Ink to Paper).

PAPER: Distressed Dots patterned paper, Luxe Gold, Honey Nut, White (Ink to Paper), Vellum.

INK: Lemon Tart, Bright Buttercup, Green Parakeet, New Leaf, Lovely Lady, True Black (Ink to Paper).

DIES: Vintage Flair (Ink to Paper).

OTHER: Black thread, Wood veneer butterfly, Black enamel dots.

        Happy stamping!                                     ~Wanda

Color Throwdown #626

Hello everyone! It's hump day and that means a new Color Throwdown Challenge. Lisa is hosting and was inspired to use plum, cream and black. I decided to go with a plum version of the new Feathered Friends 7 die that is part of the Ink to Paper release which will go live at 10PM EST. The Delicate Doilies dies are also part of the new release.

I die cut all the bird parts from white card stock, then used brushes to blend a variety of plum/purple distress oxide inks over Bristol Smooth Surface paper.

STAMPS: Nifty Plaid, A Little Wispy (branches), Vintage Flair (sentiment) - all by Ink to Paper.

PAPER: Vintage Cream, Linen Vintage Cream, True Black (Ink to Paper).

INK: Seedless Preserves, Dusty Concord, Milled Lavender, Black Soot (Distress Oxide inks by Ranger0.

DIES: Delicate Doilies, Feathered Friends 7 (Ink to Paper).

We would love to have you play along with us, so hope to see you in the gallery! Happy stamping!                ~Wanda

ITP Reveal Day #4

Welcome back everyone! It's the fourth and final day of reveals before you can buy the new release items tomorrow at 10PM. Today, we are introducing Feathered Friends 7 dies + Feathered Friends Mini 7 stamp set and dies.

I started with these vintage styled patterned papers from the 8x8" pad called "Collage" by Tim Holtz. I then cut two of the XO heart frames and splattered them with yellow gold paint from Gansai Tambi's Starry Colors.

The pierced frame die was also cut from patterned paper and since it's so thin, I adhered it to another frame cut from kraft card stock. That makes it more sturdy to "pop" it up with foam tape.

I die cut all the bird parts from white cardstock and then color blended in earthy shades of green/tan/brown (see ink list below).

STAMPS: Bee-utiful (sentiment)
INK: Prairie Grass, Olive Twist, Fine Linen, Honey Nut Cocoa Bean, Canyon Clay; Versamark
PAPER: Rustic Cream, "Collage" 8x8 patterned paper by TIm Holtz
DIES: Pierced Feature Frames, Feathered Friends 7, Tiny Tags, XO Heart Frames
OTHER: Gold embossing powder, Jute twine, Gansai Tambi Starry Colors (yellow gold used for splatters)

Today, we are introducing Just Sentiments: Milestones stamp set + Number dies, Just Sentiments: Established stamp set + Inside Greetings: Established stamp set.

I went for a more masculine look and kept it simple...only adding greenery instead of my usual groupings of flowers.

The background collage-style stamp is beautiful and I chose to stamp it in black over a stenciled background.

INK: Shabby Shutters, Speckled Egg distress oxide; Versamark

ITP Reveal Day #1

It's day #1 of reveals for the January release at Ink to Paper. The USPS held up the design team by "losing" our packages so we were all late getting them. Instead of a release on the 15th, it will be the 20th instead. Today, we are introducing Sprigs & Sprays stamp set and dies + Antique Wishes stamp set and dies + Cake Please stamp set and dies + Delicate Doilies dies.

I had a smooshing good time with the background using distress oxide inks! The florals in this set can be paired with a variety of containers from previously released sets and I chose the pitcher from Abundant Blooms.

I love that the Cake Please set has 3 different floral or cake "picks" images - birthday, anniversary and baby - making it a fun option for adding a sentiment!

STAMPS: Sprigs + Spays, Cake Please, Abundant Blooms
INK: Pale Peony, Berry Sorbet, Lemon Tart, Summer Sunrise, New Leaf, Ocean Tides, Green Parakeet, Simply Chartreuse, Ripe Avocado, True Black; Picked Raspberry Mustard Seed, Worn Lipstick, Wild Honey distress oxide inks (used on background).

PAPER: Watercolor, White.
DIES: Border Bling: Tin Stitch, Pierced Feature Frames, Sprigs + Sprays, Cake Please, Abundant Blooms.

ITP Sneak Peek

It would normally be a release day at Ink to Paper on the 15th, but the US Postal Service had other ideas on what to do (or not do) with the new products for the design team this month! Since we got our goodies so late, the release will not occur until the 20th. We will start introducing new things over the next four days starting tomorrow (1/16/21).

See you back tomorrow!            ~Wanda

Color Throwdown #625

Hello again! Another Wednesday has rolled around and we have a wonderful color combo - brought to us by Susie - to get your mojo going for the next Color Throwdown challenge

My pink is leaning more toward a coral shade but...it's all in the family - lol! Prior to my dad's passing on August 31, I tried to send him cards pretty often...especially since he couldn't have visitors during the Covid pandemic while in a nursing home. I decided to recycle some of the elements onto new cards. Here, I used the florals and the bird.

I smooshed some Blueprint Sketch distress oxide ink onto watercolor paper by applying the ink to a small piece of acetate, spritzing with water then dabbing the acetate randomly over the WC paper. I then splattered the same color over the dried background.

STAMPS: Feathered Friends Mini 1, Blossoming Branches, Wild Fields (sentiment) - all by Ink to Paper.

INK: Pale Peony, Berry Sorbet, Green Parakeet, New Leaf, Ripe Avocado, Honey Nut, Enchanted Evening, Orange Zest, True Black (Ink to Paper); Blueprint Sketch distress oxide.

PAPER: Brilliant Blue (retired SU), Ranger watercolor, White by Ink to Paper.

DIES: Border Bling: Skinny Postage, Blossoming Branches (Ink to Paper); Stitched Rectangles STAX Die-Namics (My Favorite Things).

Sure hope to see your entry in our gallery! For more inspiration, you can visit the Color Throwdown blog and check out the remainder of the design team's entries.            Happy stamping!      ~Wanda

Fusion Card Challenge

Welcome back to a new year of challenges at Fusion Card Challenge! I went with the cocoa theme using The Greetery's Cozy Cup stamp/die set and also flipped the sketch upside down.

I added some washi tape from Heidi Swapp for the vertical line elements and grounded the cup with the Cozy Cup mat die. A very simple one layer card!

STAMPS: Cozy Cup (The Greetery).

PAPER: White, Classic Kraft (Ink to Paper).

INK: New Leaf, Ocean Tides, Classic Kraft, Cocoa Bean, Pure Poppy, Scarlet Jewel (Ink to Paper); Fairy Dust, Silver Lining (WPlus9).

DIES: Cozy Cup (The Greetery).

We would love to have you play along with us. You can use just the sketch or just the inspiration photo...or...you can do a fusion of both!

Happy stamping!                                            ~Wanda

Color Throwdown #624

Happy New Year to all and welcome to the first Color Throwdown challenge of 2021! We have a very earthy color palette - rust, cream and brown - which was perfect to use these Botanicuts Pine Bough dies from The Greetery.

I haven't used ribbon or seam binding much, if any, for several years, but decided to bring in the rust color with seam binding from Verve.

This was my first project using the macrame series of dies in the last release at The Greetery! I am wowed by the elegant look and with the gazillion possibilities of combinations with these dies! I layered Dark Chocolate cardstock behind the cream panel with the open macrame die cut.

We are thrilled to announce a new design team member - Susie Moore - to the team! She has been a very loyal participant in the CTD challenge for many years and does fabulous work! Welcome Susie!

Hope to see you in the gallery!            ~Wanda
