Warm Winter Wishes

Warm winter wishes to all of you blog readers! Your visits to my posts and your comments mean a lot and I'm very grateful for all of you! A winter warning is up for our area tonight and tomorrow with possible ice from freezing rain, sleet and maybe a bit of snow in the mixture. New Year's Eve will be low key tonight with our middle son and his family joining us for pizza. I kept the grands today and they were occupied with their tablets after lunch which gave me a chance to throw this card together.

I struggled with photographing these darker colors. It all looks black when in reality, the patterned paper and heart wreath are a Pinefeather (dark hunter green) color and the sentiment is Dark Chocolate. :-(

Editing in Photoshop Elements didn't help either, so it is what it is. The trees were white embossed on vellum and I lightly sponged Ocean Tides ink onto the reindeer.

STAMPS: Deer to Me, Winter Wonder, Just Sentiments: Warmth - all by Ink to Paper.

PAPER: Stampers Select White, Pinefeather, Bitty Big: Pinefeather patterned paper by Ink to Paper; Vellum by SU.

INK: Dark Chocolate, Ocean Tides, Pinefeather, True Black, Sweet Blush, Pale Peony, Bright Buttercup (Ink to Paper); Versamark.

DIES: Skinny Frames: Diagonal Border, Love to Layer: Scallop Circles, XO Heart Frames, Deer to Me, Winter Wonder (Ink to Paper).

Happy new year to all of you! I think we will ALL be happy to say goodbye to 2020!                                    ~Wanda

Masculine Thank You

Hello everyone! I haven't been creating or blogging for a good while but I'm still well and just staying pretty much cooped up at home over the holidays. We only had our one son and his family with us on Christmas eve and Christmas day. We did a Roku mirror image gift exchange where we could watch (on the TV) our oldest son's little girls opening their gifts from family on Christmas eve and they could watch their cousins doing the same. Technology does help but it's still a far cry from holding and hugging them in person! Our daughter is an RN and she was working that whole weekend. She is having some nightmare shifts while working with Covid patients and the numbers are steadily climbing. She did get her first vaccine dose and had no reaction to it. Enough of personal chit chat and on to card making!

I needed a masculine thank you card, so tried to get my mojo goingthis morning. I had a leftover scrap of watercoloring with splattering so used it to die cut these leaves. I lightly stenciled some Ripe Avocado ink over the background panel. Easy peasy!

STAMPS: Leaves in Fall (Ink to Paper).

PAPER: Rustic White, Dark Chocolate, Ripe Avocado (Ink to Paper); Ranger watercolor.

INK: Ripe Avocado, Dark Chocolate (Ink to Paper).

DIES: Skinny Frames: Diagonal Border, Leaves In Fall (Ink to Paper); Stitched Rectangle STAX Die-Namics (My Favorite Things).

Have a great Tuesday and stay warm and safe!      ~Wanda

Anywhere Together

Good Thursday morning! We woke up to a blanket of snow on the ground...awaiting official report on number of inches. Roads are plowed already but the temperature is keeping things icy! I created another fun card using Ink to Paper's Anywhere Together set.

As I mentioned in a previous post, the trick for me to get the wheels aligned properly with the bike frame is to stamp the outer, larger pair of wheel circles first. Then you can line up the medium sized circles and then the smallest ones.

I wanted to use some patterned paper and I thought this pattern mimicked the bike wheels, so went with that! I also added some white gel pen markings to the balloons. I'm playing along with the sketch for the current Freshly Made Sketches challenge.

STAMPS: Anywhere Together (Ink to Paper).

PAPER: Aqua Mist, New Leaf, Stampers Select White, Text-Style Green Boutique patterned paper - all by Ink to Paper/Papertrey Ink.

INK: True Black, New Leaf, Ocean Tides, Classic Kraft, Lemon Tart, Aqua Mist, Hawaiian Shores, Soft Stone, Weathervane.

DIES: Border Bling: Tin Stitch, Border Bling: Skinny Postage, Anywhere Together (Ink to Paper).

I'll be keeping two of the grands for the rest of the day, so my quiet time will soon end - lol! Have a great day everyone!   ~Wanda

Playing with Hoops + Fringe

It's a cold, wintry day with a mix of rain and snow coming down! We get power outages really quickly in our area, so I showered, drank hot chocolate and am getting laundry done...just in case we lose power. I finished this card with some new happy mail I ordered from The Greetery. Here's my first time inking up the Hoop Wreath set and pairing it with some awesome new dies!

The Hoop and Fringe dies are unlike anything I own and am always amazed at Betsy Veldman's creativity! I color blended some Aqua Mist ink on the background then wanted to add some controlled splatters, so went with the snowflake stencil from The Greetery.  I added some accents with the flower centers using a white gel pen. I love the tiny sentiments that come with this set because they don't overpower the image. I also popped it up with foam tape.

STAMPS: Hoop Wreath (The Greetery).

PAPER: Stamper's Select White (Ink to Paper).

INK: Aqua Mist, Pure Poppy, Scarlet Jewel, Harvest Gold, Summer Sunrise, True Black, New Leaf, Pinefeather (dye inks by Ink to Paper).

DIES: Hoop and Fringe, Catching Snowflakes, Hoop Wreath (The Greetery).

OTHER: Snowflake stencil (The Greetery), White gel pen

Have a great Wednesday everyone! Stay warm and safe!  ~Wanda

ITP Release Day

It's the 15th of the month and that means at 10 PM EST tonight, the Ink to Paper store will be open for you to shop for items in the December release! I wanted to share another card I created using the Wreath Favor Box Sentiments set and a sentiment from the Like Family stamp set.

I stamped the Nifty Plaid background with Pinefeather ink over Ocean Tides cardstock. The wreath was stamped with a combination of Green Parakeet, New Leaf, Ocean Tides and Pinefeather for all the greenery elements. The flowers were stamped with Lemon Tart, Harvest Gold and Summer Sunrise.

The sentiment was gold embossed on heavy weight vellum.

STAMPS: Wreath Favor Box Sentiments, Like Family, Nifty Plaid

PAPER: Gold metallic, Vellum, Ocean Tides, Stamper Select White

DIES: Wreath Favor Box Sentiments

Happy stamping!                                ~Wanda

ITP Day #4 of December Release

How are you liking the new goodies so far? It's a beautiful, versatile release, in my opinion, and I've thoroughly enjoyed creating with all of it! Today, we are introducing Branches of Love stamp set and dies + Inside Sentiments: Love stamps + Like Family stamp set.

I really adore the layered pottery vase image and the dainty branches with hearts growing everywhere!

I die cut 4 square panels of Bitty Big: True Black patterned papers for my background and adhered them on a 5" square card base.

I love to pair up Pale Peony with Berry Sorbet when I want a peachy pink color combo. I also variegated the branch colors with using Simply Chartreuse and Ripe Avocado inks.
Below is a photo of the inside with this sweet sentiment.

STAMPS
: Branches of Love, Inside Greetings: Love
INK: Pale Peony, Berry Sorbet, Simply Chartreuse, Ripe Avocado Hawaiian Shores
PAPER: Bitty Big: True Black, Stampers Select White
DIES: Branches of Love, Love to Layer: Scalloped Circles, Border Bling: Skinny Heart Frames (inside card)

This next set is entirely sentiments only so I paired it up with a fave set from last month's release: Vintage Lantern.

The patterned paper dictated my ink color choices. My card is slightly longer than A2 size because I didn't want to cover up any more of the lantern.

STAMPS: Like Family, Vintage Lantern
INK: True Black, Lemon Tart, Pure Poppy, Aqua Mist, Hawaiian Shores, New Leaf, Ocean Tides, Simly Chartreuse, Ripe Avocado, Lovely Lady, Soft Stone, Smokey Shadow
PAPER: Patterned paper, Stampers Select White
DIES: Vintage Lantern
OTHER: Corner rounder

That's it for introductions! Tomorrow - December 15 at 10 PM EST - the items will be ready to purchase in the Ink to Paper store. Some hot items will sell out quickly, so if there is something you REALLY want badly, you'll want to be logged in and ready to shop at 10 PM.

Happy stamping!                                                    ~Wanda

ITP Day #3 of December Release

Happy to have you back for day #3 of the Ink to Paper December release. Today we are introducing Dainty Daisies stamp set and dies + To Die For Sentiments: Never Too Far dies + Lift Me Up stamp set and dies.

It's my turn to do the Featured Post tips for the Dainty Daisies stamps and Never Too Far die on the ITP blog and I will include them in this post as well.

This card started by color blending with distress oxide inks on Bristol Smooth watercolor paper. I get the best results with ink blending when I use this combination!

I then adhered the Skinny Heart Frame and adhered the daisies around the sentiment. I popped several of them with foam tape to add more dimension.

I like to layer at least two (and sometimes three) sentiments together to give them more "substance" with handling.

STAMPS: Dainty Daisies
INK: Spun Sugar, Abandoned Coral, Candied Apple, Twisted Citron, Peeled Paint distress oxide inks
PAPER: Stampers Select White, Bristol Smooth Surface watercolor
DIES: Dainty Daisies, To Die For Sentiments: Never Too Far, Border Bling: Skinny Hearts Frame
OTHER: Nuvo Jewel Drops: Rosewater

TIPS:
1. A great way to add texture to flower centers is to add liquid enamel accents or Nuvo drops.
2. After stamping a lighter color ink onto the flowers and leaves, add a second color in a darker shade with a sponge dauber to get some color variation.
3. Die cut sentiments will stand out more prominently if you adhere at least two or three dies together.
4. Pop several of the daisies up using foam tape for added dimension.
5. Spray adhesive works well to adhere a large intricate die. Keep an old cardboard box handy to keep spray from getting onto unwanted surfaces.

You can see the color variation better on this card which is a result of stamping with a lighter color then sponging a bit of a darker shade on the same stamp.

<---Here is a photograph of the inside of the card.

STAMPS: Dainty Daisies
INK: Blueberry Sky, Spring Rain, Enchanted Evening, Green Parakeet, New Leaf, Simply Chartreuse, Ocean Tides
PAPER: Bitty Big: Harvest Gold, Stampers Select White, Enchanted Evening
DIES: XO Heart Frames, Dainty Daisies
OTHER: Lemon Twist Enamel Accents

This is a whimsical stamp set with sentiments that are so timely during this time of distancing and staying at home while the corona virus continues to rage around us!

The images are very easy to color with Copics and the patterned papers made it easy to coordinate the colors.

STAMPS: Lift Me Up, Dear Friend
INK: Fine Linen, Spring Moss, Ripe Avocado, True Black
PAPER: Text Style: Fall Prints + Patterns, Fine Linen, Terracotta Tile, Stampers Select White, X-Press It Blending Card
DIES: Border Bling: Diamonds, Love to Layer: Scalloped Circles, Lift Me Up, Dear Friend
OTHER: Oval punches, Copics

Hope to see you back tomorrow for the final day of reveals! You'll see a really sweet set with dainty hearts and branches!

Welcome back for day #2 of reveals for the December release at Ink to Paper! Today we are introducing Just Married stamp set and dies + Wreath Favor Box dies + Wreath Favor Box Sentiments stamp set and dies.

I was thrilled at how cute these chairs turned out and love that they are so perfect for unique wedding cards!

I'm also excited to see how the floral bouquet can be used for all kinds of occasions (gotta love versatility!).

I trimmed off about 1/4" to 3/8" off the end of the sentiment tag to avoid covering up more of the chair.

PAPER: Bitty Big: Sweet Blush, Stampers Select White, Sweet Blush

OTHER: Jute twine

My next project uses the fabulous wreath favor box die! How fun would this be for a sweet Valentine gift or a wedding favor? So many possibilities!

Here is a view of the back side of the box.

I love that you can "pull out" some of the leafy sections of the wreath to add dimension!

Next, I wanted to create a card using the wreath and went with embossing it in gold to give a simple but elegant feel.

This is such a timely sentiment from the new Just Sentiments: Love stamp set that is part of this release.
