Paper Players Tic-Tac-Toe

It's Sunday and that means a new Paper Players Challenge! Laurie has a really fun tic-tac-toe chart with so many wonderful options for you! I chose the washi tape, embossing and circle options so I could use this wide washi tape from Altenew.  It makes such a quick and easy background!  The birthday part of the sentiment was white embossed with Altenew's Pure White opaque embossing powder.

STAMPS: Phrase Play #5 (Papertrey Ink).
PAPER: Night of Navy (SU), White (PTI).
INK: Versamark.
DIES: Stitched Blooms, Stitched Rectangle STAX (My Favorite Things); Phrase Play #5 (PTI).

We'd love to have you join in this challenge!  For more inspiration from the rest of the talented design team, please check out their creations HERE.

PTI Win It Wednesday

This week's Win It Wednesday challenge on the Papertrey Ink blog is asking us to choose any of the previous MIM challenges to create a new card. I totally love the Pierced Feature Frames die set, so I chose Laurie Schmidlin's MIM challenge for framing sentiments and images as described in this post.  I used the middle-sized frame with white CS and popped it with foam tape over a Grout Gray (MFT) cardstock base.

The sentiment (Your Beautiful Birthday - PTI) was stamped in Versafine Onyx Black three times using a MISTI.  The florals (Beautiful Berries: Spring - PTI) were stamped with PTI inks (Hibiscus Burst, Raspberry Fizz, Green Parakeet, New Leaf). The final touch was some silver sequins.

Alcohol Inks

TGIF! I'm looking forward to a lunch date with two good friends then more good basketball games for the Sweet Sixteen tournament this evening!

I pulled out another alcohol ink panel from a recent binge I had playing with these fun inks! The layout is for the current Freshly Made Sketches challenge.

STAMPS: Easter Hodge Podge (Lil' Inker Designs).
PAPER: Tempting Turquoise (SU), Sour Apple Green (MFT), White (PTI), Bumblebee Yellow (Reverse Confetti).
INK: Coastal Cabana (SU).
DIES: Easter Hodge Podge, Perky Posies (Lil' Inker Designs).

MFT Wednesday Sketch Challenge & Color Challenge

I simply couldn't pass up MFT's wonderful Color Challenge this week and paired it up with the great new sketch for their Wednesday Sketch Challenge! The striped border is from MFT's Black and White Basics 6x6" paper pack.  I used florals from MFT's Mini Modern Blooms and used inks by Reverse Confetti (Piggy Bank, Magenta, Buttercup, Bumblebee Yellow, Pistachio, Lime Green) since I don't have the MFT line of ink pads.

I layered two of the die cut sentiments to give it more dimension.  I seldom create one layer cards but this is one of the rare ones - lol!

Thanks so much for stopping by...

Color Throwdown #536

Hi everyone! Another Wednesday means another Color Throwdown challenge is up and running! Jodi is our hostess this week and has chosen a beautiful combo - mauve, moss green and cream. I actually still have some Mauve Mist cardstock - a long retired color from Stampin' Up - which was probably purchased close to 20 years ago at the beginning of my stamping journey!  I chose new stamps from Reverse Confetti to create a Mother's Day card.

I colored the florals with Copics and cut 3 'mom' sentiments and adhered them together to give it more dimension.  I popped up the stitched hex tag with foam tape.

Here is my enabler's list:
STAMPS: Hatbox Florals (Reverse Confetti).
PAPER: Vintage Cream, True Black (PTI), Mauve Mist (SU).
INK: Memento Tuxedo Black.
DIES: Hatbox Florals, Mom and Dad Word Duos, Stitched Hex Tag, Documented, Leaves Cover Panel - all by Reverse Confetti.
COPICS: RV52, RV63, RV55, YG21, YG23, YG25, YG93, YG95.

HB2U

You can never have enough birthday cards in your stash...especially for masculine recipients! I am playing along with Just Us Girls where it's photo week and I was inspired by the balloons and birthday theme!  I'm also using the sketch for the Sketch Saturday Challenge.

I started with a base of Yupo paper with alcohol inks swiped
horizontally for a subtle striped effect.  Unfortunately, I nearly covered it all up so it's difficult to see the striped variations of color. I used scraps of cardstock that blended with the alcohol inks then hand doodled strings onto the balloons.

STAMPS: Whole Shebang (CAS-ual Fridays).
INK: Versafine Onyx Black (stamped x 3 using MISTI).
DIES: Stitched Squares and Rectangle STAX (My Favorite Things); Balloons (Simon Says Stamp).

Are you enjoying the March Madness of all the basketball games throughout the US?  Our two top teams are playing later today (UVA and VA Tech), so I'll be getting into cheer mode then! Hopefully, they will make it into the Sweet Sixteen group of teams!

Paper Players #434

Hello and happy Sunday to all! It's sketch week at The Paper Players challenge and Joanne has a really fun layout for us! I started with choosing a panel of alcohol inked Yupo paper.  The emerald green and dark blue inks and gold mixative resulted in this rather intense marbled look.  A simple Prim Poppy die (Memory Box) cut from shiny gold card stock was the only embellishment.

I recently ordered a newly released sentiment stamp set - Anything-But-Basic Encouragement - by My Favorite Things.  This particular sentiment is probably my favorite of the set...perfect for sending a random card to brighten someone's day!

We'd love to have you join in this challenge!  For more inspiration from the rest of the talented design team, please check out their creations HERE.

He Is Risen

Hope everyone is having a super Saturday! We're in the middle of Lent meaning Easter is right around the corner and I'm needing several more cards for my stash. In the last Reverse Confetti newsletter, Kathy Schweinfurth gave us a suggested color palette - Rose, Olive, Iced Aqua, Dark Roast, Buttercup - so this is my take on it.  I'm also using the sketch for the current Tuesday Morning Sketches challenge and was also inspired by the polka dots in the Tag, You're It challenge. I immediately went for the whimsical florals in RC's Petals 'n Posies set. I'm also entering this into RC's March Stock Your Stash challenge where we are to use an Easter/Spring theme.

I tweaked the stripes in the sketch a bit and used the Triple Chevies die set by RC for a similar concept.

Here's a list of what I used:
STAMPS: Easter Blessing, Petals 'n Posies - Reverse Confetti.
PAPER: Stone, Iced Aqua, Dark Roast (RC); White (PTI).
INK: Rose, Olive, Buttercup (RC); Versafine Onyx Black.
DIES: Triple Chevies, Tag Me, Leafy, Petals 'n Posies - RC.

Oceans of Joy

While it was snowing up a storm yesterday afternoon, I was creating this beachy keen card for The Card Concept challenge and for CAS(E) This Sketch challenge!  I'll have to admit, those triangles stumped me a bit, so I went with a smaller triangle collage in the background using an image from WPlus9's Just Geometrics: Triangles stamp set. All of the ink colors were distress oxide inks.

What did I use?

STAMPS: Color Layering Seahorse (Hero Arts); Just Geometrics: Triangles (WPlus9).
PAPER: X-Press It Blending Card.
INK: Tumbled Glass Antique Linen, Abandoned Coral, Frayed Burlap, Tea Dye, Walnut Stain - all distress oxide inks by Ranger.
OTHER: Dew drop embellishments; Watercolor Stripes stencil by Altenew.

Paper Craft Crew Sketch

It's a very cloudy and rainy/snowy day...just perfect to get a lot of crafting done 'cause gloom isn't conducive for getting any cleaning done - lol! I wanted to use the sketch for the new Paper Craft Crew Challenges, so went with a masculine birthday card using Stampin' Up products. I started with die cutting the gears then colored in the car with Copics (G12, BG72, C1, C2) after stamping with Memento Tuxedo Black ink on X-Press It Blending Card paper. The headlights and windows have Glossy Accents added to them.

Here's what I used...
STAMPS: Geared Up Garage (Stampin' Up).
PAPER: Classic Garage 6x6" designer series paper, True Black (PTI).
DIES: Garage Gears Thinlits (SU), Stitched Sentiment Strips (MFT).
OTHER: Washi tape, Sequins, Glossy Accents.

Fusion Card Challenge

It's time for another Fusion Card Challenge and I was definitely influenced by the eye chart and the black and white stripes in the photo!  I also used the sketch with some minor tweaking by using a rectangle instead of the second circle (I HAD to use this eye chart sentiment - lol!).  I love using a pop of yellow with black and white, so went with it.

STAMPS: Eye Charts (My Favorite Things).
PAPER: Black and White Stripes 6x6" pad (MFT); Classique: Beauty by Authentique.
INK: Versafine Onyx Black.
DIES: Geek is Chic (MFT), Stitched Fishtail Flags, Stitched Circle and Stitched Rectangle STAX Die-Namics (MFT).

Hatbox and Gingham

A fun card using a backdrop of gingham with this great new Reverse Confetti image from their newly released Hatbox Florals stamp set with matching dies! I'm using the fun new sketch by Jacquie for Freshly Made Sketches and am also playing along with the gingham theme on the Double D Challenges blog

Images were colored with Copics: Y00, Y02, Y06, Y08, YG21, YG25, YG25, YG93, YG95.

The tiny black squares are from My Favorite Things' Stitched
Square STAX Die-Namics.  The sentiment (Thanks and Hello Word Duos by RC) was cut three times and adhered together to give more dimension. I again used a pop of yellow (one of my faves!) with the black and white gingham paper from Bazzill Basics 'Licorice' patterned paper pad.
