Celebrate!

Another birthday card added to my stash! I'm playing along with the Seize the Birthday challenge to use the word "celebrate" and with Just Us Girls where anything goes with stencil week.  I had never used the freebie stamp/stencil/die gift that came with an order from The Greetery when they celebrated their 4th anniversary.

This is a one layer card with the sentiment stamped with Versafine Claire Nocturne pigment ink and clear embossed on vellum.  I first die cut the row of candles then used the candle stencils with dye inks from Pinkfresh Studio (Ballet Slipper, Bubble Gum, Mint, Meadow, Lemon Whip, Sweet Mustard, Marigold).

STAMPS: Make A Wish, Freebie "Celebrate" (The Greetery).
PAPER: Stamper's Select White (Papertrey Ink); Vellum.
DIES: All Aglow (The Greetery).
OTHER: All Aglow stencils (The Greetery).

We are still on flood watch here in VA with many closed roads in our county. And...today it's still raining though we don't have the high winds anymore. We lost a huge old oak tree that fell beside our garage. We are so blessed that the good Lord had it fall where it didn't fall on our building or on the neighbor's house. PTL he had it fall in a perfect spot!

The Paper Players

The Paper Players
challenge has a new sketch by Joanne. I kept my card clean and simple with only one layer...a rarity for me! I started with some beautiful marbled patterned paper by Craft Consortium.  I then stamped the sentiment and florals with black pigment ink and used clear embossing powder to set the ink right away plus it gives a hint of shine.

The florals were painted using distress inks.

STAMPS: Thank You Florals (Papertrey Ink).
INK: Versafine Claire Nocturne (Ranger); Picked Raspberry, Carved Pumpkin, Mowed Lawn, Crushed Olive distress inks.
PAPER: Bristol Smooth Surface; Stampers Select White (Papertrey Ink); Ink Drops - Candy 6x6 pad by Craft Consortium.
DIES: Thank You Florals (PTI); Slanted Short Cuts (Concord & 9th); Blueprints 27 (My Favorite Things).
OTHER: Moonshine sequins (PTI).

Freshly Made Sketches

Another Christmas card added to my stash...thanks to the current Freshly Made Sketches challenge!
I went with a literal interpretation by using two die cut evergreens from Papertrey Ink. Glittery snow drifts were added along with a double cut sentiment die (also from PTI). There is a faint rectangular outline in Harvest Gold ink created with a stencil.

STAMPS: None.
INK: Harvest Gold (Papertrey Ink); Bundled Sage, Rustic Wilderness, Gathered Twigs distress inks (Ranger).
PAPER: Stamper's Select White; Metallic gold; Christmas Plaids 6x6 patterned paper by Recollections.
DIES: Into the Blooms: Evergreen, Border Bling: Joy Frame (Papertrey Ink); Stitched Ric Rac (My Favorite Things).
OTHER: Rectangle Extraordinaire Stencil (MFT); Crystal fine glitter (Martha Stewart).

Color Throwdown #811

It's time again for a new Color Throwdown challenge. This week, Amy Rysavy is hosting and has chosen burnt orange, black and sage. I pulled out Into the Blooms: Pumpkins and Into the Blooms: Sunflowers dies from Papertrey Ink to create this fall card.

The card base is True Black with an overlay of white that was die cut using PTI's Cover Plate: Cross Stitched. I cut the base down so the largest Skinny Frames: Diagonal Border would fit the edges.

STAMPS: Thankful for Fall Sentiments (Papertrey Ink).
INK: Canyon Clay, Terracotta Tile, Ocean Tides (PTI); Bundled Sage, Fossilized Amber, Wild Honey, Rusty Hinge, Hickory Smoke, Black Soot, Brushed Corduroy, Gathered Twigs distress inks (Ranger).
PAPER: True Black, Stamper's Select White (PTI).
DIES: Into the Blooms: Pumpkins, Into the Blooms: Sunflowers, Cover Plate: Cross Stitched, Skinny Frames: Diagonal Border, Beautiful Bouquet Tag (PTI).
OTHER: Moonshine sequins; Jute twine.
Hope that you will be able to play along with us!  Happy stamping!  ~Wanda

Tic Tac Toe Challenge

I always enjoy playing along with the Tic Tac Toe Challenge! This time I'm going with the middle horizontal row of options that include embossing, free and masculine. The embossing is subtle on the arch outline and along the stitched outline of the base layer.

This masculine card uses the Tuck-It stamps and dies by Papertrey Ink.

Word Art Wednesday

There's a great devotional over on the Word Art Wednesday challenge blog. The scripture from I Samuel 12:24 is a great reminder that "You can do it" if you serve the Lord with all your heart and remember all He has done for you in the past!

I was greatly inspired to CASE a card made by Tina Smith from the Cards & Coffee Time blog. She has amazing videos that explain her creative process so well and this video was my inspiration!
